The palantiri - Arc new ring

*********

After entering the middle city, the gate of the city was closed, preventing the different groups of orcs from passing through.

Despite the latter's closing, the orcs still remain in front of it and try to force their way through, especially with battering rams.

In response, the Gondor men harass them with flaming arrows, which seems to be effective since after a few minutes the orcs retreat under the orders of their captains.

As for Talion, he heads towards the upper town, the headquarters of the city's operations, accompanied by Idril.

"Wait, what is your name?" Talion asks.

"Idril" she answers before continuing

"Come with me Talion, I'll introduce you to the city's general, Castamir, and who exactly are you?" says Idril turning to Talion as she walks towards the upper city.

"I was the captain of the rangers at the black gate, I thank you for granting me an audience with the general".

"You know we need all the help we can get, and from what I've seen you seem to be a more than welcome asset," Idril said before pausing and continuing, "I heard there were no survivors at the black gate, so the information we had must be wrong".

"No, no, it is indeed true, we are all dead" Talion answers

Idril doesn't know what to say until the duo enters the upper city.

Arrived in front of the general Castamir Idril makes her report.

"We have lost the lower city and it is only a matter of time before the middle city falls as well, the orc troops are increasingly more present" says Idril while looking at Castamir who continues to look at these battle plans without turning away.

"Our fate will be decided here, we have the double of their archer, moreover the walls of the high city are the most resistant " answers Castamir

But Idril interjects with his diagnosis " We cannot face them, they are too numerous and way too fierce "

"Our people, we Gondorians, have fought and repelled the forces of Mordor before" says Castamir, staring at Idril in the eyes.

And Idril does not deny it " Certainly we had pushed them back, but we lost so much "

"Yes, and that's why you have to go to the great hall to secure our relics, I want the transfer of the relics to henneth Annun to be smooth"

"But I belong here!" said Idril

However, Castamir cut the discussion short. "That's an order, Idril," he said, before turning back to his battle plan.

"I'll do it, but I'll be back before the next assault" she said before leaving

It was at this point that Talion walked up to Castamir, seeing Talion, Castamir could not help but ask him

"A ranger from the black gate? but I heard that you were all dead".

"You heard right," Talion said, before being interrupted by Castamir.

"If you have come to fight for Minas Ithil, go to Captain Baranor, he will tell you what to do".

"I have not come to join your army, but I have come for the Palantiri, and for its safety" he replies

"If you protect this city, the Palantiri will be safe" said Castamir, somewhat annoyed that Talion was standing up to him.

"Well, I see this discussion is going nowhere" Talion replies and heads for the battlefield.

POV Talion:

I've been fighting against Sauron's forces in Minas Ithil for about 10 days now, I've been killing incessantly, there are only a few days left before the final assault of the Mordor armies according to the information I got from the orcs while dominating them.

I didn't only kill, I also dominated discreetly some orc captains with their troops, as well as one of the bodyguards of the warlord, the orc who leads the assault. This one is quite good at fighting and will be a great asset.

During these ten days I have familiarized myself with my skills in depth, I can now master them but it is not yet perfect. Moreover, I absorbed a lot of energy, and I am now physically very strong, I am more powerful than an Olog.

(Olog are species of Troll, but more intelligent)

But this is not enough, during the final assault, the nine nazguls will be present, and I am not able to come out victorious from a direct confrontation, at least not yet. I would have to fight an isolated nazguls and absorb its soul and the power of its ring.

To do this I need to dominate it before killing it, the nazguls are like me, after death they come back to life. Only domination can allow me to absorb him. And I am confident, I can face one or more nazguls and come out victorious, as long as they are not the nine present but are in small groups.

Once I have absorbed it, my strength will increase tenfold, and by domino effect, when I absorb the others, I should be able to face Sauron.

But one of the prerequisites to defeat them is this stone, the Palantiri, its power is necessary for me to locate them individually.

I already know that Castamir will betray Gondor by delivering this stone to the Witch King, the commander of the Nazguls. That's why it's time to act.

So I discreetly approach the great hall, the room where all the Gondorian treasures rest. At the entrance there are two guards, I sneak discreetly into a bush.

Then I use {Spectral Assassination} and I create two specters of myself one behind each guard that stuns him.

With both guards out, I enter the great hall.

This place is swarming with guards who are putting the Gondorian treasures in wooden crates for transport. Without making any noise I sneak discreetly towards my objective.

The palantiri can be difficult to find, after all nothing can indicate its position and only Castamir knows where it is, however, being a magical object, it emanates a faint glow invisible to the naked eye. But, having the ability to see into the world of specters, I am able to discern this faint glow.

The palantiri is in fact hidden in a false wall, a secret room contains it. So I approach this stone, I grab it and put it in a bag then I teleport away from Minas Ithil with {spectral teleport}

Without wasting time I go to the camp of my army which is hidden in the rocks not far from Cirith Ungol, then I install it discreetly in a room guarded by my captains, having alarm devices which indicate me as soon as there is a problem.

I was able to make them during these ten days thanks to Celebrimbor's knowledge of forging.

Then returning to Minas Ithil, I noticed to my great surprise that the final assault of the troops of mordor was launched.

"It's time to hunt," I said before throwing myself into the battle once again.
