Reminiscing About The Past

'Haah, that felt pretty good.' Ronald thought in his head while leisurely taking a walk in the park.

After pretty much spending the entire morning hunting down and 'instilling' fear into Gu Yuan by throwing her into a pit full of venomous vipers in the middle of nowhere with only a cage to protect her with, Ronald had decided to spend his free time walking in biggest park in all of China for a little bit since the weather was nice out today.

While he was leisurely walking in the park however, he couldn't help but start to think about the ex-girlfriend he had back on earth.

That's right, before Ronald had gotten transmigrated into this novel and was still living on earth, he had managed to get a girlfriend back during his sophomore year of highschool.

And she wasn't just your typical average girl however…

She was actually the most popular idol in one of the biggest music bands out there!

How crazy is that?

And the funny thing was that he didn't even know how he had even managed to become her boyfriend to begin with.

Sure, it could've been one of those 'love at first sight' sort of scenarios, but the thing was that he wasn't handsome at all, or at least not handsome compared to most of the male models over back at earth.

At most, he could only be considered above average in terms of looks.

So why did taking a leisure walk in the park reminded him of her for some reason?

It was because his first encounter with her was at a park...

And his last interaction with her was at the same exact park as well.

Although Ronald didn't know the exact reason as to why she had broken up with him when they still had such a great relationship going on between them, he wasn't too mad about it.

After all, she was an idol, and Ronald was just some random person from a middle-class family.

On the contrary, he was actually grateful that his girlfriend had given someone like him a chance anyways.

'It's been over 7 years, huh. Time sure flies by fast when you're playing as the villain.'

Of course, even though he was currently reminiscing about the past right now, since this had all occured about 7 years ago, he had absolutely no more feelings for her anymore.

But to be honest, Ronald found it pretty weird that he had transmigrated into this novel world about a few days after breaking up with his idol girlfriend.

It was as if some being, or the system, had been waiting for him to get dumped before transmigrating him into this novel.

But even if Ronald wanted to actually know why he had gotten transmigrated to begin with, he knew that he wouldn't be able to get any answers from the system.

Heck, the system itself probably doesn't even know why it had transmigrated him to begin with.

Also thinking back at it now, the system has always felt suspicious to him for some reason.

And suspicious not as in the system was going to do something bad to Ronald...

But suspicious as in the system...

Had romantic feelings for him?

Yes, although it sounds incredibly stupid, and most of his theories had always been proven wrong anyways, it definitely was a possibility.

Why?

Well to begin with, although the system had always sounded like an emotionless robot most of the time, as mentioned before, there were times when it did show its emotions.

And the times when it would usually show its emotions was when either one of two things would happen.

The first one being that whenever he started getting along well with one of the beautiful woman in this novel world, the system would start to get upset...

Like that time when the system had popped out of nowhere and started talking to Ronald in a depressing manner after he had allowed Princess Sophia to live in his house.

And the other times when the system would usually show its emotions to Ronald was whenever it was torturing Ronald for trying to oppose the system back in his previous life.

And by using common sense alone, Ronald knew that the system would've not of tried to disencourage Ronald from trying to oppose the system if the system didn't even care about him to begin with.

But anyways, even if the system had never showed any expressions or emotions to Ronald to begin with, Ronald still had evidence to back up this 'theory' of his.

In his previous life, whenever Ronald would talk to the system about returning back to earth, sometimes the system would mention out of the blue that the system will stick with him even after he returns back to earth.

But why?

Was there any actual point for the system to follow him back to earth after he completely finishes his role as a villain?

No point at all.

There was literally no point for the system to follow him back to earth after he finishes his role unless if the system had some romantic feelings for him and wanted to be with him...

Or if it has other plans for Ronald after he gets back to earth.

While Ronald was still leisurely walking on the park trail thinking to himself about what the system wanted from him, all of a sudden he instantly rushed to a nearby tree and completely hid his presences before anyone had noticed him.

Why?

Because he saw that the high school boy who had been meditating under a tree for some time now got up all of a sudden and started walking towards the other two people who were practicing their martial arts technique out in the park.

And the two people who were practicing their martial arts technique were actually one of the heroines Ronald was suppose to meet in a future plot… and her grandfather.
