The First Boss

[You have entered the Tower of Beginnings 1st Floor]

I looked around at the surroundings the first floor was a huge room. Four pillars were at the sides and two stair cases were curving out from each other at the end. I'm guessing that is my goal so I broke out into a run towards the staircases.

There didn't seem to be any enemies so that was good. However when I got about half way across the room began to shake. The walls had carvings in them that came to life and left the walls showing that they had full bodies. Their appearance was similar to knights but carved out of whiteish stone.

Well crap. I need a weapon and from what I can see the best weapon should be a blunt weapon as they are made of stone or maybe a pickaxe could work. I closed my eyes and activated my Gift and used the help of my Art. And then I realized my pickaxe idea might not be so bad if I modified a bit and my Gift allowed for it.

Instead of a hammer I made a throwing spear. It wasn't difficult and took a little amount of time. The stone knights were also slow so I had an even greater advantage. When I summoned it I took advantage of the remote control part of my Gift. I used it and sent the spear towards one of the oncoming enemies. It was too slow however to do anything and was knocked away with ease with the knight's sword.

I clicked my tongue. It looked like it wouldn't work just like that. I had saved the spear and summoned another. This time I added in some mana with my physiques aid and threw it. The speed was much greater with the use of mana and the spear impaled itself into the chest of the knight I attacked. Now the only problem is it wasn't fatal.

But the throwing spear idea did provide me with some knowledge on how I can better use my Gift. I visualized a sledge hammer and threw it forward. It spun in the air and the head smashed into one of the heads of the stone knights.

[You have gained experience.]

I grinned and repeated the process multiple times until all the knights had died. I then received an update from the system and I read it as I fell down from mental exhaustion. I used way to much of my mental energy to create all those hammers it seems.

[You have reached level 2. All basic stats increase by .25.]

[You have slain all enemies on this floor you may now proceed. You have gained experience.]

[Because of not having taken any damage from the enemies you have gained some more experience.]

[You have reached Level 3. All basic stats increase by .25]

I smiled at the increase of my stats and began to walk up the stairs. When I reached the door to the next floor I decided to first take a break before proceeding.

I finished the last enemy on the 9th floor by shattering its head. I returned the sledgehammer back to my hands and unsummoned it. I had learned from my experiences that it is better to but summon multiple of the same gear and just use the same one over and over. It saves mana and mental energy.

[You have reached level 9. All basic stats increase by .25.]

Nice, one more level and I get a class. I took a short rest before proceeding to the next floor.

When I entered floor number 10 the system gave me a message.

[You have entered floor 10 of the Tower of Beginnings. You will now face the keeper of the 10th floor, The Broken Squire.]

The arena for the boss fight looked different from the other floors. Instead of a room of stone I was now in a training field within a fort. Dummies and targets were decorating the arena along with some wagons.

In the center stood the boss. Chainmail, metal helmet, and a broken sword. His helmet was covered of scuff marks along with his sword. They were old, that much I could tell.

I summoned some basic armor and a sledgehammer. Armor was for safety as it's better to wear armor than be dead. I threw the armor at the squire hunching down with their sword impaled into the ground. When I did they lifted their head revealing that their face was stone. Not figuratively, but actually stone. It creeped me out.

The sledge flew towards the squire and they dodged. They were more agile than the enemies I had faced on the lower floors. I made fly at their back and it hit but it only stunned them and they charged forward at me with reckless abandon and a frenzied scream.

Shit! It this moment I began to regret it having gotten an Art that gave me better combat skills. I had to rely on what I had seen the swordsman that served my family doing.

I summoned a sword and blocked the oncoming blade but when I did the sword was unleashed upon me in a flurry. I unsummoned the sledge and instead summoned a spear. I summoned it behind the squire and attacked him from behind as he seems to not notice those attacks.

Because of the attack from behind the wild flurry of blows was paused and I took the chance to swing at him. The attack landed but did practically nothing. It seems slash attacks do nothing to the stone man. Piercing and blunt will have to do. I got rid of the sword and summoned another spear. It was different from the throwing one I made and I used it to pierce into his body I pinned him to the ground and took another sledge.

I began to swing it over and over again. I hadn't realized it during that time as I blocked it out, but the thing had been screaming. Eventually I managed to bust its face open and end its existence.

[You have defeated The Broken Squire, Glade.]

[You have reached level 10. All basic stats increase by .5.]

[Congratulations, having reached Level 10 you can now choose a class based off your achievements and karma.]

[You may now enter the Rest Room.]

"Enter."

The world shifted and I found myself in a simple bedroom. Two doors labeled, "Tower" and "Exit" told me where they led.

I walked to the door to leave the Tower and returned back to reality. I need to take some rest and while I could do it here I wanted my home and own bed.

Is there some secret lore? I don’t know actually. Some things might link to this in the future or maybe not. But yeah, okay bye.
