Training Pokemon

For a while I have read over all the cut and paste concepts on the Pokemon world trying to make the host strong as well as his Pokemon using the gamer system. I understand it's a dangerous world and you want to give the MC extra plot Armour. I thought about this and realized that the host would rarely fight in matters that needed strength except in situations that dealt with Legendaries. If that becomes par for course though in the story. What's the point of making this a long term novel that deals with the growth of a character. I would've set this as a short novel that deals with an overpowered MC that one shots all situations that need it. Also I wish to point out that Pokémon have sentience. The world also has abundant food with berries being around and the things that happen in Pokedex's in the games, I'm gonna try to stay partially away from as this is rated at a rating lower than 18+. (That's mostly because I find cursing unnecessarily to be just plain bad etiquette. I can understand if it happens when something bad occurs and you can't control your mouth. But flippant use of them just to annoy people is just that. Annoying...) The original story is also about friendship, journeying, and finding a purpose in the world they're in with their friends. Sabrina, Dawn, and May deal with contests. While Ash, and Iris love battling. Brock even finds a purpose on his journey as a breeder fully going into the field instead of just pursuing it as a side hobby like before when he had to take care of his brothers. As such I find it, while not useless for writing. A complete disappointment and withdrawal from the nature of what this world represents. What with hope and friendship being these main parts, and if you're fighting every creature you meet into submission. How is it possible for you to truly bond beyond servant and subject. Another thing is inside this story I will not limit the host to having 6 Pokemon on his being. No this would only apply to gyms or competitions as these kinds of things would require a more formal structure. I have decided on a new idea for this system that instead focuses on the Pokemon themselves. This includes knowledge, buffs, items and so on. The system will be less of a RPG stat layout directly as this still exists. But the stats come from training with the other stuff like others would train in a real world. The exception being Buffs. He can also use the system to build a utopia for his Pokemon. He can even slow down the time inside to gain larger training time later on for specific species which grow slower like Ninetails or various Ghost Pokemon. Enough of this Synopsis and rant though and on to the story. Ps. It's obvious, but I don't own this image. So I take no credit for it. And if someone eventually would like to make an image for this story I will thank you. Sincerely. PPS: Comments help me keep my want to write. When I notice there's not a lot of comments. I second guess my writing, like a lot. Probably for a good reason as I know I like to over analyze things, and I KNOW that's gonna influence my writing. I can see it deeply ingrained. So if you guys like my style please comment.

Chapter 29-Taking On Brock? Pt.1

Walking into the Gym I looked around in wonder. In the center of the room stood a giant boulder with smaller ones all around it. Taking a wider look around the room I noticed it was made up of a multitude of different types of rocks. Actually I could spot about twenty kinds just in the making of this extraordinary room. Walking across the field I started to plan my actions for different Pokemon that could be chosen for me to fight with.

Looking around I noticed at the almost center of the battlefield was an alarm of sorts that could be sounded with a touch; it had been impossible to see originally. Going over to it I pressed the button waiting for some sort of warning for what was about to come. Sadly their was no sound system for pumping up our blood and adrenaline before the fight. Going to one side of the field I took a seat on a boulder that was conspicuously placed by it's lonesome at the edge of the challengers side of the field.

After around twenty minutes a man came out that appeared to be extremely tired, but he was happy. Shockingly it was Brock. That was my first thought at least until he introduced himself "I am Flint the Gym leader of the Pewter Gym. What business do you have with me today?" Obviously the man knew what I was about to say, but we both smirked anyway as I officially announced it. "Hello Mr. Flint. My names Lazaro and I am here to challenge you to a Pokemon battle, so I can gain your badge and challenge the league once I collect seven more."

The moment my voice went across the field I felt something deep within me awaken. I felt excitement yes, but it wasn't something so simple. Whatever it was I felt it was something I had been missing for a long time.

"Ding. Congratulations host for making it to your first official Gym battle. As each Gym battle can be a major turning point in your life you now unlock the Experience bar. This will allow you to level up each time you defeat someone from the league."

Feeling my heart start pumping faster I realized I had finally found a way to let my Pokemon evolve and grow faster, and all I needed to do was challenge people that was a part of the league.

"Do you know the rules of this Gym following that this is your first Gym challenge?" Nodding no I let him explain to make sure it was the same as the Pokemon series. Getting the message the man started.

"The challenger is the only one allowed to change out their Pokemon, we each use two Pokemon a piece, and finally we are not allowed to use unnesecary force to permanetly injure your Pokemon, but accidents do occur so I want you to forfeit if your Pokemon has reached its limit."

Nodding that I understood; I Calmed my mind for the battle. Afterwards we both grabbed a Pokeball and threw. Flints Pokemon after the glow faded was surprisingly a Cranidos. I myself had decided on Budew.

With a smile I realized immediatly I held the advantage. With that thought I noticed at the side of my vision a familar judge. With a wave of two flags the Blond man said Begin.

"Budew, jump onto the boulder!" With my shout it immediatly jumped being replaced by a charging dinosaur. Having crashed into the boulder Budew was on, it was sent flying to the next in a continuous sequence. Flint realizing he was in the lead decided to push his advantage. "Go Cranidos use Harden."

Trying to understand why Cranidos hardened itself I discovered why as it crashed into another rock this time seemingly going through it more easily. This meant harden was no longer just a defense raising move. This move was now a attack raising move, then my plight turned for the worse.

"Cranidos use Polish, and use it in a continous cycle with Harden." Thinking as quick as I could I looked around the field and come up with an idea. "Budew, use vine whip to push yourself away and then use it to wrap around the rocks. After a couple more seconds Budew found its chance and did just that.

Trying to figure out the purpose of the act. Flint started going through diffrent scenarios in his head. When he had finally figured it out and was about to warn his Pokemon something happened. Cranidos who had sped up his body found it dificult to stop without the necessary strength, and as such tripped over the vine flying out of the battlefield all together. Getting back up Flint shook his head in disapointment.

"Cranidos has lost he stated as he looked me in the eyes. Even if he goes back up and fights, you could easily do the same thing." Sighing he decided to focus on strength training with Cranidos and any future one he gets.

Waving his flags excitedly the Dbz announcer then dropped them and picking up a mic from somewhere announcing the results of the first battle. Once he was done Flint grabbed another Pokeball, and this time I faced a foe I recognized even more easily.
