Opening the Door

The sun's rays were falling on the trees, the sky was blue and clear of any clouds, and a gentle wind was blowing.

Hiss…

Standing on a lawn was a young man's silhouette looking up at the sun. He had his hands behind his back and his temperament was calm and impassive. Over his calm face, a small smile appeared. "That is a good day..." However, soon that smile disappeared and an emotionless expression reflected from his face.

The wind blew stirring his robes, as he remembered a certain place. A desolate place filled with death on all sides, with only a bright blood moon over a dark sky without a single star shining. A place where any carelessness could cause death. A place where he experienced several of his friends dying by enemies, or... by his hands... Or, his friends betraying him, and being betrayed... by him.

A smile appeared again on his face remembering all he had been through in the Abyss. "Despite all, I went through there. The Abyss really was a very fun place."

If asked whether he preferred the Abyss or the Earth, he would not hesitate to answer the Abyss. A pity, that it was only his soul that had been thrown into the Abyss, and after 10 years, he was suddenly returned to Earth. The only thing he had to complain about the Abyss, was that black sky and that blood moon, he was sick of seeing the same scene every day for 10 years; but, he longed to go back.

"Heaven... If I become a level being equivalent to Heaven..." His mind traveled remembering something a certain old drunkard had told him. His eyes locked on the azure sky and his gaze seemed to be able to see beyond it. Soon, a disappointed sigh subconsciously came out of his mouth, "It will still be 3 years, and even when it happens, it is estimated that the Energy will be very faint and weak."

Suddenly, he remembered something. A small frown appeared on his face as he pondered a possibility.

"Should I go there? Not a bad idea, though... What if it's not what I'm thinking?" He pondered seriously, "3 years, or, take a risk... Heh." Soon, a smile naturally appeared on his face.

"Since when am I afraid of taking a risk? Besides, wasn't it me who was so eager to go to that place?"

Smiling faintly, a light shone in his eyes as he announced, "Then it's decided, I will go to that 'Tower of Wishes'!"

"But first..." His mind soon turned to a certain place in his body. "I need to fix this Spiritual Energy in my body."

He didn't know what it would cause to enter another Universe with a different kind of Energy, what if it caused a rejection? He would rather not risk it. Placing one of his hands on his belly, he felt a large amount of Spiritual Energy poured out.

He propped his chin on one hand and began to ponder. What should he spend this Spiritual Energy on? It would be a waste to simply throw it out into nature or unleash attacks to empty it. Soon, a vision entered his mind and an idea came to him, his eyes secretly sparkling. "That doesn't sound like a bad idea."

Making up his mind, he sat down on the grass and slowly closed his eyes. His consciousness began to focus on a certain point in his soul. Suddenly, an extremely beautiful scene entered his field of vision.

A large sea, endless to the naked eye, formed by pinkish-green water.

But it was not this sea that was attracting his attention, but something floating above the sea. A strange and chaotic little ball. Inside it, a surprising scene was occurring - different elements appeared and then were devoured or destroyed by other types of elements that suddenly appeared; this scene repeated itself many times and randomly as if they had no order.

"A fragment of Chaos Elemental." Murmured Uriel, as he appeared in an instant in front of the small ball. His gaze swept over the ball completely, and he couldn't help but frown a little.

"Master said it would take me at least tens of thousands of years before I could absorb this completely and correctly." He thought inwardly remembering what a certain old drunkard had said to him.

"But, I do not wish to wait that long... So the only alternative is..."

He turned around and looked at the most beautiful and powerful thing that was in his Spiritual Sea.

A beautiful, large lotus. However, there was something else about this lotus, if you looked closer you could tell that each petal of the lotus was made of flames. And they were not simple flames, but flames that seemed to be able to burn space itself.

"The Flame Lotus," Uriel whispered.

The Flame Lotus, a Lotus that was born from the death of the Primordial God of Fire. It has flames that are said to be able to burn even time, even the rules and laws of a universe are fragile before it. Uriel's master once told him that it value is no less than the fragment of Chaos Elemental in his possession, and Uriel did not deny it, it is currently his main source of an attack, and although he cannot bring it full power to bear, Uriel can easily fight opponents much stronger than him with it.

"If I can get it to devour the Chaos Elemental fragment, it will probably undergo a mutation and will acquire the characteristics of the Chaos Elemental. The elements will be mixed with the Flame Lotus and probably become a new type of flame. And over time, I will probably be able to slowly extract the elements one by one from the Flame Lotus and eventually gain complete control over the elements coming from Chaos. And to be able to make the Flame Lotus devour the Chaos Elemental, I will need to expend every range of Spiritual Energy in my body, exactly my goal."

Thinking this far, a smile formed on Uriel's face.

The reason he can't absorb the Chaos Elemental completely is, because of the protective ball that prevents the Chaos Elemental from dispersing into Nature; Uriel can't break it with his current strength, and using the help of the Flame Lotus, he plans to devour the Chaos Elemental and overpower it over time.

Soon, Uriel moved, waving his hand, the Flame Lotus began to burn.

Crackle! Crackle!

A violent, unbridled flame that burned and devoured everything in its path began to engulf the entire Spiritual Sea.

Even the protective ball of Chaos Elemental was not spared and was completely burned and destroyed. Causing, the Flame Lotus slowly devoured the Chaos Elemental.

The flames engulfed even Uriel, who stood calmly with his hands behind his back seeing only flames in front of him.

Soon, the flames that were burning wildly began to fade. Allowing Uriel to have a view of his Spiritual Sea again, he saw that his Spiritual Sea was almost empty, the Spiritual Energy in it was almost completely depleted. His gaze turned to the lotus floating in the little water that had been left; his gaze lingered on it, his eyes carried a great admiration and appreciation for the lotus.

"A beautiful lotus indeed..." He couldn't help but take a deep breath of admiration.

The Flame Lotus had changed, from the once bright red petals, now each petal was a different color that alternated over time. And looking closely, although each petal emitted unbearable heat, each had its own peculiarity. One of them with a blue color was covered with lightning dancing around it; another one with white color was emitting a cold wind around it.

Recovering from his daze at the beauty of the lotus, Uriel looked at the rest of the Spiritual Energy in his Spiritual Sea. He frowned slightly, he didn't expect it not to be completely depleted.

Thinking of something, his consciousness returned to his physical body.

His gaze turned toward the sky, to see the sky colored in a rosy red color.

The sun was setting.

Seeing this beautiful sight, his eyes emitted a deep emptiness; this was no match for the beautiful lotus he had just seen.

With indifference, he raised a finger toward the sky, and Spiritual Energy coursed through his body. A blue flame in the shape of a small petal appeared on the tip of his finger, and he whispered, "Lightning Flame Petal."

The blue petal on his finger shot toward the sky leaving a small electric path where it passed.

Kaboom!

The noise of thunder resounded and, lightning descended like a blue snake towards the ground, bringing a thundering sound with it.

Boom!

The lightning struck near Uriel destroying and burning some of the trees around him.

Looking at the destruction caused, Uriel was pleased. Even if it wasn't very strong, it was somewhat acceptable for the amount of Spiritual Energy he used.

Basting in his pants to remove the dust, he stood up and looked up into the dark sky. His gaze narrowed on the moon and stars and soon, he turned around again and stared straight ahead.

"If I am right, my father must have made it so that only when some desire of mine for something reaches an absurd level will the door to the tower open for me. In the stories he told me, he said that only by possessing wishing for something desperately will the Tower open to someone."

He took a deep breath, and his mind began to wander. What did he want most? What did he wish for? What was his main goal? Several scenes flashed through his mind, of his father abandoning him, of the vision of his friends betraying him in the Abyss, of the several people who died at his hands.

And finally a vision of what his master had told him a long time ago, "Chaos! That is the answer to everything, only with chaos can someone become strong, an unexpected friendship can happen, in chaos, anything can happen, everything is unexpected and inexplicable, that is the beauty of chaos! You must have heard of Chaos Age, right? It was that time when they suggested the strongest existences! Forget Heaven-equivalent beings who appeared like ants back then! Back then, even the omnipotent Heaven Masters had to be careful back then! Brat, knowing your personality, you must already have your blood boiling just by hearing it, right?! Hahaha! Bring me some good quality wine, and I'll tell you the rest."

Remembering the grumpy old drunkard, a smile unconsciously appeared on Uriel's face as he began to walk forward with conviction.

"Yes, I don't need a father; friendship is something only temporary; it's a little fun to kill, but it's something I can do easily. Ever since I heard those words from the master, that has stuck in my mind. Chaos Age... Yes, that's what I want! An age when, in an instant, someone tremendously weak can suddenly acquire Heaven-level power. A time when you couldn't trust even allies, at any moment you could be betrayed by someone you trusted the most. A time full of blood and strife, rise and fall, betrayal and friendship, death and war."

Flash!

A great light suddenly shone in front of Uriel and a large door began to appear.

Uriel just continued with a big smile straight ahead as his thoughts wandered, "This is what I want! Such a fun and lively Age! That's what excites me and even if in a smaller portion, I will replicate that Age in this Tower!" At that instant, his foot reached the inside of the door and a blinding light appeared in his vision, causing him to close his eyes unconsciously.

The chapter was very confusing, I know. I dumped a lot of information and some incomplete, in order to get the MC into the Tower right away; as in the next chapter the MC will be inside the Tower already, expect a more coherent writing. [Information about the Flame Lotus and the Elemental Chaos Fragment is incomplete, I'll complete as the story progresses] (I'm out of time right now so didn't have time to check the chapter before posting so there will probably be some MC grammar and personality errors - so don't be surprised if his personality suddenly changes in the next chapter, that was just a chapter for him to get into the Tower anyway.)
