Lenny couldn't believe his ears. He stayed frozen on the spot for a few seconds as his maximally intelligent brain attempted to understand the situation and determine the best course of action.

Was it impulse borne from fear and panic? Or was it a necessary reaction after thinking things through? Lenny didn't know why, but only three seconds after he heard the old man's voice, he found himself sprinting at peak-human speed, down the hilly road.

Run, flee. Those were the only words that ran through his mind at the moment, with other minor thoughts backing the idea up from time to time.

'…The old man only saw my face! He can never know who I am if I run away! Was he a Specialist? Or a pointer from a higher class? But that should mean he's famous in some way, but he's just a guard for the abandoned hospital, what's up with that?!
