An Offer You Can’t Refuse

Lenny remained patient in the cell, entertaining himself with his thoughts and occasionally pacing about when his butt got sore from prolonged sitting, with the police officers opposite him indulging him in casual conversations from time to time.

Truly, disregarding the stereotypes and all, he found the entire process manageable as most of the police staff he interacted with were just normal people doing their jobs.

Having inquired of the time a bit earlier, Lenny was aware that most of the day had already ended as the clock ticked past 5 PM.

Deciding to wait one more hour for any development on the case before he called Boss Falcone, he witnessed the fair-skinned lady officer from before, approach his cell, and plunge a key into the keyhole.

Lenny's eyes widened, but just as he opened his mouth to speak, the lady officer opened the iron black, netted cell door and voiced, "Your bail has been posted. You're being released for now."
