Somehow it had become a routine for Haewon to reach for her phone first thing every morning to check for a good morning text from Jake.
So, the moment she opened her eyes that morning, she reached for her phone, expecting to see a text from Jake since he had not contacted her since the previous day after he texted to inform her that he was on his way home.
Her brows creased together in a frown when she didn't see any text or missed call notification from Jake.
After he sent her a text to tell her he was on his way home, she had thought he would call her to inform her he was home, but he hadn't. She had waited until nighttime for his call and had called him a couple of times when it seemed like he wasn't going to call, but he had failed to pick up.
She had sent him a text to tell him she was going to bed and had wished him a good night's sleep just in case he was already sleeping.
