74 The start of mayhem

"My, I truly didn't expect to find such an interesting sight before me."

Shinobu chuckled as she looked at Zeo, the scientist fishmen from the Hody Jones rebellion group. He stood before an intricate glasswork, where substances were being diluted, boiled, dried, etc.

The end product was a little black and red pill, which was collected in a box, which was already pretty full from the looks of it.

In Shinobu's hand was a bunch of these pills, which had been taken by Lafitte to let Shinobu discern what kind of drug this was.

From what she had surmissed, by the smell of the ingredients processed in these pills, they should enhance strength to a higher level. The side effects were no doubt equally high as the rise in power.

"This is truly something only the desperate would use. This thing is clearly defective."

Shinobu clicked her tongue as she tucked away the pills into her pocket, slowly drawing her sword.

Lafitte had left long ago, as he had accomplished his purpose of discovering the weapon. He had no intention to assist Shinobu in this fight, as she was clearly capable of handling this herself.

All across the Fishmen district, the Demon fox pirates had encountered a member of Hody Jones's his group. This was all due to the work of no one but Soren. He had kept track of all of the Demon Fox pirates's wherabouts, making sure to give false reports to Hody Jones's group.

This caused Hody's frustration to continuously rise until he just couldn't bear it anymore. One by one his fellow fishmen companions were sent out to handle to situations, until only Hody Jones was left.

Soren had at this point contacted Akane to inform her of this.

"Well done Soren! This will end things a lot sooner than just waiting for the army to act. I will handle Hody, you find yourself a target as well."

Akane replied to the message, hanging up soon after that.

Soren glanced once more at Hody before he left to one of the enemy commanders, a man called Ikaros. He had seen what the man was capable of after one of his subordinates failed an order, something he wouldn't be able to do in the future anymore.

The man had been slaughtered in cold blood after all (No pun intended).

He couldn't wait to see how this squid would fare against his Electro attacks.

One by one the Demon fox pirates ended up in front of their enemies.

Lafitte stood against a small dog like fishmen called Daruma, who had initiated the attack as soon as Lafitte had landed a strike on him.

The red fishmen had dug into the ground and was moving about in a rapid pace.

Soren had encountered Ikaros. Unlike his previous attire, Soren wore a leather like armor, which looked weak at first glance, but was as strong as steel when hit. This would surely offer some protection against the dried squid spears.

Both of them stood still, gauging the others strength, waiting for only a small gap in the opponent defense to appear.

Surprisingly, Jimbei's group faced off against three of Hody's officers, Dosun, Harisenbon and Hyouzou. The fight had begun as soon as these fishmen enounctered Jimbei. They knew why Jimbei was here, so the best move was to attack first.

As a well experienced pirate, Jimbei wasn't faced as he and his crew fought back.

And Ban, well, he had at some point gotten distracted as a familiar feeling was getting closer to him. His basic observation haki had caught a glimse of a figure not far away from him. The feeling he felt was coming from said figure.

As the ever curious man he was, Ban had closed up on the man, finding none other that Vander Decken, the one who had been throwing weapons at Shirahoshi.

"Man and I thought Escanor was kinda wimpy in his slim form. You are even worse~"

Ban whistled, looking Vander Decked up, not appreciating what he saw at all.

Vander Decked glared at the man who had snuck up on him. Ban towered over him, making Vander Decken extremely uncomfortable.

As Ban was close enough, he touched Ban with his bare hand, pushing Ban a second later, pushing the latter away with a greater force than Ban had expected.

Feeling the same thing he had felt on Shirahoshi, Ban used his Snatch, pulling the mark out of his body and crushing it.

Vander Decken groaned in pain as blood seeped from his lips from the backlash.

"So you were the creepy owner of this magic. Not cool~"

Ban rubbed his hands on his pants, as if to wipe grim from it.

Vander Decked stared at Ban in shock, followed with a burst of fury.

"IT WAS YOU! You're the bastard that destroyed my mark! I will KILL YOU!"

Vander Decked screamed.

At this, multiple fishmen arrived around Ban, along with a giant fishmen Ban had never seen before.

"I wish the captain was here. She would love to see this."

Ban murmured as he lazily leaned back as a swarm of fishmen ran towards him.

At this point, when everyone was engaged with their own opponent, Akane had come across her own opponent as well.

Standing before her was Hody Jones.

The man glared at her, no doubt having ascertained she was part of the mess that was occurring right now.

It wasn't that hard for Hody to surmise, as Akane had the feral grin on her face as she could feel her lust for battle rise once more.

Sparring was one thing, but fighting with a chance of death always riled her up.

Now that a decent opponent was standing before her, she could just feel the mental switch about to flip.

The one that did it, was when Hody took out a few pills from his pocket, no doubt the pills Shinobu had sent a message about before she too had started her battle.

'This is definitely going to be fun!'
