Chapter 9: Training

Akira and Annie are alone in the forest. Annie thinks they are far enough as she asks, "We are here. What do you want to talk about?"

Akira stops as he looks at her with a serious face, and he asks, "You are Titan Shifter, aren't you?"

Annie looks at Akira with wide eyes open and shocked as she looks at Akira. She is in a fighting stance; Akira waves his hands toward her to calm her down.

"Clam down; I'm not your enemy, Annie," Akira said as he crossed his arms.

The blonde girl still didn't let her guard down while she glared at him. Annie asks with a serious tone. "Then what do you want?"

Akira also got serious as he said, "I want to know why you were sent here. I understand there is more living out on these islands."

Annie's arms crossed as she said, "Then you understand this Island is an enemy to the world."

Akira nods as he replies, "Even though there is an enemy, this Island still holds so many innocent lives, Anine. Then answer my question: why are you and your two other friends here? What is your mission."

The blonde girl's arms crossed, still looking at Akira with a glare. "That classify... What about you? You seem like an outsider, and what kinda of form did you use all years ago."

Akira sighs as he explains, "I'm... Titan of light, as you know me as Ultraman, and yes, I'm an outsider."

Annie suddenly grabs his jacket with a glare as she yells, "Then why are you helping them!" 

The blue hair looks her in the eyes while she holds him on his jacket. Akira sighed as he said, "Most all of them are innocent lives, Annie. I understand you three doing all this because of an order of your land."

Annie let go of Akira's jacket, and she said, "Then what do you want with me!"

Akira looked deep into her eyes as he said, "I want you to know that destroying this place will not do any good to you three. It just makes it worse."

Annie, glare as she replies, "Like I fucking care! I just want to go home! And remember Akira! Don't say a word about me being a Titan shifter or die by my hand!" She pulls a knife from her jacket and quickly puts it on Akira's throat.

Akira sighed as get said, "Don't worry, Annie, your secret is saved with me. Look, Annie, I just want to protect the innocent life, but this is not a solution,"

Annie softens a bit; Akira holds the knife slowly on his throat and crushes the knife blade into pieces, and Annie's eyes open in shock. She wants to punch him in the face only to be caught by him, and he pulls her close to him. 

Akira looked at her with a warm smile as he said, "Look, Annie, like I said, I'm not your enemy." His and her faces are so close like they are about to kiss each other. Annie realizes how close they are and can't help but blush.

"T-Then let me go!" Annie stutters and fails to cover her blush; Akira gently lets her go as she quickly walks off, stopping only a moment. She quickly glares at Akira with a blush on her face and continues to walk away. Akira sighs in defeat as he also walks away.

Annie walked into her room, and she saw her roommate, Mikasa. The raven-haired girl is on her sit-up routine.

"Ah, you must be my roommate." Mikasa stopped the sit-up and drank some water.

Annie looked at her, and the giver, emotionless, nodded, "Yeah, it seems like it. So, how long have you how long you known Akira?"

Annie and Mikasa start their conversation as the blond wants to know Akira's story.

The next morning at 7 am, Keith and the recruit are waiting in the training field; well, they are waiting for Akira to arrive.

Keith has a tick mark on his head. 'Goddamnit, and he's late again! Well, I'm just gonna start without him.' Before he started, he saw Akira walk in.

Akira rubbed his back hair while yawning as he said, "I'm sorry for being late; a black cat across my path, so I had to take a long way to come here."

The recruit heard this as they sweatdrop when they heard the lies in their mind, 'Is this guy serious? HE IS JUST YAWNING!! WHAT KINDA EXCUSE IS THAT!!!?'

Keith was mad as he yelled at his assistant, "ONE HOUR, YOU LATE ONE HOUR!!"

Akira just waved it off like nothing happened as he said, "Hey, hey, relax. I'm here. So let us get a start, or you just gonna talk all day." The light blue hair turns his attention toward the recruit.

Keith grins his teeth as he takes a deep breath and sighs. "ALL RIGHT! YOU MAGGOT! LISTEN UP! YOU GUYS GONNA DO 'ODM' TRAINING FOR THE REST THIS DAY! SO GEAR UP!"

Keith shows them how to use Omni-Directional Mobility or ODM and notes down their skill. Finally, Akira fixes what they lag off. After hours of training, they have some getting used to the gear.

"Alright, Maggot! Time for your test!" Said Keith,

Akira added, "If you fail! You will be sent home! Your test is easy. Even a baby can do it with eyes closed!"

Keith continued with the rules, "You have to float in the air for 30 seconds! And if you fail! You will be sent home without pride!"

From that, one by one, recruits are being tested, and almost all of them pass the test: Mikasa and Jean are doing very well.

Akira notices Erin's gear has some problems, and it might not go well, and it does have a problem. Erin couldn't control her gear as she turned upside down. Akira cut the rope as the girl hit and fell to the ground.

Keith looks at Erin as he yells, "Erin Yeager! You fail!"

Erin went into a panic as she tried to explain why she failed, "Wait! My gear has some problem with it. Please give me a second chance, and I will fix my gear."

Keith wanted to say a word, and then Akira interrupted him. "Cadet Yeager has told the truth; her gear has some problem; the belt on her leg has been cut."

Akira pointed to her Erin left leg belt, and Keith saw it. Keith growled as he said, "Fine, get change and do it again!"

Erin silently thanks Akira and quickly changes into her new gear.

Erin, this time, passed her test with joy, and the rest of the past cadets had more training again, this time training how to kill Titan by slicing their back neck.

Manny did try out, but just some of them managed to hit the dummy, Titan. Unlike Mikasa, who got 4 Titan kills on her first day of training. Akira looks at her with a proud smile.

Keith's arms crossed as he said, "Now, We gonna look at how professionals do the right way!"

Akira looked at the chief as he asked, "Professional? Do we have some guesses?"

Keith sighed while rubbing his forehead, "The Professional is you, obviously."

Akira looked dumbfounded, "Eh? Nani?... (What?...)"

Keith looked at his assistant with a smirk, "I accept your request to become my assistant because Commander Ewin said you are a skilful soldier in his team. So this is quite a personal request for me to see it with my own eyes if that is true."

Akira didn't like the tone Keith gave him, like almost the light blue-haired soldier was lying to the bald chief as Akira got a thick vein in his temple. "Oh yeah! Then let me show you! Quick any of you give me your ODM now," 

Then, a short blonde girl came forward toward Akira. Christa was blushing as she stuttered while saying, "Y-you can have my gear if you want to."

"Realy? Thanks!" After a min, Akira put it on, and he was ready to prove it as he said to the recruit, "Alright, soldiers, Watch and learn!" He said as he waited for Keith's command.

"Sir, I'm gonna ask how many dummies are in this training field?" Connie suddenly asked.

Keith look at the bald recruit as he yell, "YOU FOOL, I ALREADY TOLD YOU THERE 55 DUMMIES!"

"SORRY, SIR!" Connie quickly apologizes as he backs away from the chief. 

With other recruits, they have something in their mind as they chat with themself.

"So, how fast do you think Instructor Akira will go?" Sasha asks,

"Hmm, the Average is 20-15 min," Jean replied that he has knowledge about how fast ODM users can go,

Keith looks at the light blue haired teen as he asks, "Ready, AKIRA!?" The blue hair nods. "GO!"

Akira fires a hook at nearby trees. As the hook hits it, Akira disappears at high speed, making everyone, even Keith, surprised. Titan dummies, the head cut clean one by one, and some of them are destroyed on the top half.

In half min 14, the Dummies are destroyed, and Akira doesn't stop there as he continues at his high speed. Akira decides to finish the challenge in three minutes, and he uses his Ki to make him even faster and use less gas.

 It's 2 minutes and 57 seconds, and the final dummy is left. He decides to slow down and fly around the dummy, and Beyblade slices the dummy's head off.

The cadets are shocked, even Keith. Akira just cut the head off and did not slice the neck and land on his feet.

Akira wipes sweat on his face. "How was it? Pretty fast, right?... Uhh, guys?" Akira saw the shock in every person there.

Keith quickly recovered as he said, "I-Its 3min and 3 seconds."

"Really?" Akira asked, and he did go all out by only using his Ki, and he didn't think getting would go that fast; maybe he accidentally used his Ultrapower, too.

Jean was amazed by what he had just seen as he said, "Y-Your speed is incredible. It's far beyond Average..."

"I-I didn't know my gear could do that," Christa said, impressed by what Akira had just done.

Rainer was amazed and afraid at the same time as he asked, "H-How do you manage to cut every head off?"

"Hmm, how? you ask?" Akira picks a small stone on the ground, lightly throws it on a nearby tree, hits and bounces back, and then picks the same rock again. "Like you all, can see if I throw the rock lightly? It didn't mean anything to the tree, but if I put all my strength in the rock and my power,"

Akira throws the same rock at the same tree, but this time, shock waves and hard wind shoot from the rock like he fires a Ki blast. When its trees are divided into two, and the trees are giant trees, the rock continues to pass through other trees behind it and finally stops at tree no 3. The shock still didn't leave their face.

Akira smiled. He said, "But with effort, you can do it possible, and the power you see is called Ki, the life force in all living beings, and I will teach some of you how to gain and learn to control the power."
