Chapter 27: Titans

Titans…

The common view of this race was often associated with the humanoid giant figure. However, there were also Giants in this world, so every titan would raise its huge hands at anyone daring to compare them to this race.

Titan and Giants always had a hateful relationship.

Going back to the roots, both races began as humanoid races that looked down on everyone but had little different techniques.

While Titans could harden their skin with metal such as silver and gold, Giants were closer to the earth and used soil for their advantage.

They were known as the savage race that enjoyed throwing huge rocks at their enemies and smashing them into bits of a bloody mess.

The giants naturally advanced and became closer with the earth creating golems that were something akin to subrace.

On the other hand, Titans became even tougher as they explored the metals and the ways to strengthen their bodies. They also could summon metal weapons later on and naturally kitted themselves with similar summoning techniques to make armors.

Era after era, those races continued to hate each other and fought daily.

There were times where no hate could be seen between those races as Titans and Giants allied against greater enemies.

"Both races stepped into godhood after this alliance, but the way it is written… I can only feel disappointment…" Vis read the book while sipping tea like the fifth prince he was. He enjoyed the luxury in his mother's residence and continued to get more knowledge for his future.

The reason for his disappointment was because those two races clearly benefited from the alliance as they literally stepped into godhood after it. But the records described this alliance as badly as possible.

They even said that evil children were born after whose bloodline was a mix of these two.

Vis just shook his head, "If you don't want to admit that it was beneficial, then just don't mention it at all… I wonder what happened to those mixed breeds… Did they just hide their other half and blend into either races or…"

After reading about his origins, Vis decided to find the gaps and hide within those. He was born as Titan God's descendant, so he had to focus on his bloodline while hiding and using common techniques.

He felt like he hid somewhat, but no one was here to confirm things…

"I guess she didn't report about me to anyone… It's been a whole week, but nothing serious happened and the treatment is still the same," Vis uttered to himself, then stood up. He called the maid to clear the table, then headed to his mother's room.

On his way, he spotted Miku who was also in the maid clothes.

Her features were hidden as Lula Clansman here would cause some commotion. She wore a shawl around her hair, so her ears were hidden.

Other than this, her beauty stood out, but it was common for the concubines to surround themselves with maids as beautiful as possible…

The worst would be if the emperor suddenly took a fancy, but this man had been locked in his chamber for a good while now…

He just left her to learn about the maid's work and enjoy some new fresh life.

After opening the doors to his mother's room, Vis greeted her, "Hi there," He smiled and took the seat on the opposite side.

Celes just narrowed her eyes and waited for Vis to take lead in the conversation. Inwardly, her heart began to pound louder as her son was not the same anymore. She was genuinely scared of him.

"Have you read the books?" He asked.

"I have," Celes replied, her eyes glanced at the book on the shelf.

These books were brought here by the royal maids that worked for the emperor himself. She requested those per Vis' orders and it was mainly thanks to her that the new world opened itself to Vis.

But he also made her learn about titan's history and learn some stuff, "That's for the royal descendant after all."

Vis just laughed and continued, "We won't get stronger by reading, though," After locking his eyes on his mother, Vis forced her to look at him, and then he finally asked, "Was there another reason for the emperor to find me?"

"He wants you to marry Tsuni Empire's, Fourth Princess… They have come out with the initiative to form a closer relationship," Celes answered what she knew.

But other than this news, she knew nothing and Vis just grumbled at her, "You can't be more useless, can you?" He shook his head, but Vis was inwardly startled as the former prince was ready to be the marriage tool…

Because of this, Vis was somewhat ready, but no way he would let some woman order him around… He threw his anger at Celes who flinched from his glare.

She wanted to say something, but Vis spoke first, "The Empress is known as a woman whose beauty equals her strength. She has strong genes and highly contributed to the empire's art. Though her family is unknown, she has given birth to the crown prince and the third prince who also stood out in their respective areas."

He added, "Compared to her, what do you have?"

Seeing no reaction from his master, Vis spoke about the first concubine, "The first concubine has given birth to the second and fourth prince. She is the daughter of the first general and has strong connections with others. She also used her father to back up her sons and help them as much as possible…"

He repeated, "Compared to her, what do you have?"

Celes exhaled a cold breath and just closed her eyes. She didn't want Vis to look at her anymore, but those were some of the reasons the emperor took her in. Her beauty was just appealing and her life had been so easy due to it.

People fawned over her and then the emperor doted on her just the same.

She believed that everything would go her way, but then Vis popped out.

This very Vis said, "Before giving birth to me, you did nothing to the empire, didn't you? You are just beautiful background and nothing else… We gotta fix that."

"What do you want me to do?" Celes asked…

She knew that Vis had a plan for his own benefit, but the royal descendant couldn't be killed easily.

Those were his words and if he could help with the child's bloodline in her belly, then she would do whatever he wanted.

By then, the power would fall into her hands and she would enjoy even more of the Merthic Empire…

"Is that jealousy I see here?" But instead of answering her words, Vis just glanced at his mother who exuded jealousy… He repeated the question and Celes faintly answered him.

"I am jealous of the empress," She said…

"What exactly?" Vis probed.

"I am jealous of her art skills…" Celes was jealous of that and if she had even more power in the Merthic Empire, she would make the empress draw her, write poems about her beauty and love between her and the emperor.

Hearing about this, Vis just sat down and shook his head, "You want to have everything handed to you on a silver platter? Woman… Why? Why the fuck? Because you are better looking than the rest? You didn't even work for your looks!"

"Your father loves my feeble side that needs a lot of care," She responded like a maiden, but Vis just spat near her.

He said, "I see how he loves you."

These sarcastic words put a shame on Celes' face, but Vis couldn't even feel victorious. He just began to think of ways to strengthen his bloodline, "As a mother of a royal titan's descendant, you will participate in the army training from now on."

"Are you serious? I am pregnant!" Celes raised her voice which was rare before this Vis.

"I am serious," Her son didn't show any reaction, "You will watch those soldiers train under the fourth prince's guidance… This should somewhat help the child in your belly… I will also accompany you and watch it from the side."

"The fourth prince? He won't even allow me to enter his barracks," Celes replied, her heart calming down as Vis didn't have anything dangerous to her and her child's life.

His idea to look over the fourth prince's guidance was great and it probably would benefit the child's bloodline in a way, but the fourth prince… had a similar impression of her.

He never said this bluntly to her, but the fourth and Vis' eyes were similar, so she could tell it.

Vis just shrugged, "Aren't you concubine? What are you scared of? He won't wound you because his father will snap at him if he does it. If you don't have skills, then you must show great will, right?"
