Chapter 9: Information feels so good man!
Excitement within the chaotic room quickly simmered down.
The reason? The fallen Lula Clansman had yet to become dullahan and achieve the undead state!
Vis' former doubts had faded away, though.
Although he believed in his ability and potential, Vis couldn't deny the chances of unsuccessful conjuration! Humans tend to do mistakes; some more, some less.
But the dark energy of Necromancer became dominated by him already, and with Miku's death, Vis could just grasp it and use it to his advantage.
The black streaks trembled around their new master, then sunk into Miku's dead body heavily as if she had been the one calling for those all this time.
A smile bloomed on Vis' face after ten minutes or so, "At this rate, I will get a second undead in my army. This one should be more valuable than that bitch bird. Knowledge is the key to everything."
Though Blue Icewing's skeleton should be far stronger than Miku's body! Vis was aware of it and he would certainly use her to the utmost of her potential.
But Miku was already more valuable since she got part of her soul left by the Soul Collector. If Vis was correct, then she should soon end up as a somewhat intelligent undead.
After black streaks got fully absorbed by Miku's dead body, the left part of her soul also sunk down within her.
By then, Vis got a perfect connection with her undead body and became the sole master!
"It seems like dullahan… is the perfect cover for my affiliation." Her body didn't turn undead in a way Vis had expected.
She was like before, a beauty from an ethereal race. However, the cold and faint streak had been slithering like a snake just where the head should be. It was blue and similar to her blue mist, but it was Vis' undead powers.
Miku has successfully transformed into Dullahan!
As this message bloomed within Vis' heart, the blue streak jolted as if happy due to its master's happiness.
"Oh, I need blood… and bones to give you back your head. That's fine." As a new connection bloomed within his mind, Vis learned more of dullahan and its abilities. He also got new information on how to strengthen this undead, but it was a process he has been aware of already.
The same happened with the skeleton of Blue Icewing, so Vis wasn't unfamiliar with it. He knew what he should do to strengthen both himself and his army.
"There is a lot of scum in the world. It's enough to step outside the village to find those…" Vis stretched out, then glanced to the side.
Her 'bed' , which was a cube, began to turn into pure energy that disappeared within Miku's body a few seconds later.
It was her ability that stayed after her death and transformation.
Vis just waited for it to properly settle down, then brought Miku's body to his black book. After she became one of Black Undead Tome's pages, Vis left the cave to search for stupid people.
He would feel nothing if he killed people that aimed to kill him down first.
-
A few hours later, Vis gathered enough blood and bones.
"How… fucking… unlucky…" One of his prey let out the last pitiful words before getting snatched by Soul Collector. His face, distorted in regret, frozen by the death!
The man soon lost that face as Vis used one of his abilities for a dullahan servant.
Vis let out blackish energy to absorb the head, then the leftovers hit the ground loudly afterward.
He ignored that splashing sound, then disappeared from the tavern amidst the silence created by the people around.
By now, what Vis needed the most was the quiet place. No people would blindly enter the forest, so he just found the closest cave and began his experiment.
Once Miku's body appeared out of the book, Vis unleashed his technique! An immediate result unfolded before his eyes as if Miku's body had been badly yearning for the head all this time.
The blood and skulls began to conjure while the master just looked at the process with dilated eyes.
After the head formed, Miku grasped her face, then put it in its right place.
"Truly perfect cover for the undead," Vis commented.
"Hello, master." Miku bowed after hearing him, her whole posture respectful. She didn't look like an undead at all and her body exuded a lively aura.
However, her face was expressionless which contrasted well with her features.
"Alright… I am sure some of your memories have disappeared due to the Soul Collector, but tell me everything you know about your race and necromancers." Vis got down to business immediately!
"Yes, master," The second servant bowed once more, then said, "Lula Tribe is one of the four walls that has been protecting the Blessed Archipelago ever since the old era. Our wall is the Dream Wall and each member contributes to it."
"Blessed Archipelago had been known as The Paradise in the past, but it's a remnant of its past glory right now. However, even part of its blessing would still get appreciated by people from all over the world."
"Our ancestors have died here and their souls and bodies are buried deep within the grounds, far from the Soul Collector's hands. They are intact and prayed upon every day. This is just part of the blessing. I don't know about other benefits as I am a low and young clansman. I am just twenty-four years old, master."
"As for necromancers, I know they are looked down upon. Everyone knows that, master. They work with the person who takes the souls away which means that no one can properly bury their loved ones and just look at them disappear to eternal torment…"
"Necromancers also rely on death and pain, so their existence is controversial in our world. I don't know much about them, but one of my friends invited me to their hidden group to become one as we have compatibility with one of the necromancer's abilities. Our dreams can evoke souls as dreams, apparently. That's all I know, master." The speech ended with a bow.
Vis just stood silent, savoring each word with high interest. He got thrown into a dangerous world, but it was interesting to him nonetheless.
This Blessed Archipelago became an epic scenery within Vis' mind just from a little description from Miku's information.
"Information…" Vis whispered silently, "Hell yeah! I love this. Well done, Miku. I have a lot more questions, though."
"I will answer them all to the utmost of my ability, master." Bow after bow, Miku didn't disappoint her master!
However, as her sixth bow happened, her head suddenly separated from her body and rolled on the ground, "Woooooo!" She let out a rather excited cheer with the world rolling in her eyes.
Vis just stood in silence, some lines spreading on his head, "It seems like she became… easy-going."
Then bow after bow, Miku answered all her master's questions and became a good servant that stood by his side.
