Chapter 29: Combination

"So amazing! I couldn't even see the sword-swinging!" Celes exclaimed in a loud voice, her pretty eyes wide and flashy.

A lot of soldiers glanced at her with dark faces, but they all lit up upon seeing her overly excited face.

She had just seen Liam's swordsmanship. No, rather than seeing, all Celes saw was the fourth prince changing his position in the blink of an eye.

But even this comparison was bad because Liam had slashed his sword numerous times meaning that he changed his position more than once.

And yet, the second concubine just saw him doing it once…

Her son also glanced at her with dark eyes, but those continued to stay on her like that. He soon shifted his attention from her and inwardly thought, 'His sword lit up in silver aura… It didn't seem like it was the weapon, but his technique… So this is the fourth prince's main attribute?'

Vis began to ponder whether Liam's bloodline was a mixture of Titan and Giant since he just used the ability on the sword.

From what Vis could tell, Merthic Empire was the only place with the titan descendants. Though it would be a mistake to assume that there were no other families or places with the titan gods' bloodline, Vis assumed that The Titan God's bloodline consisted of various branches or had at least a little of each bloodline in itself.

God was like the ultimate form of each race, so if the titans had passed it to their human vessels, then this bloodline should have various branches for the titans to prosper in the next ages.

The Blue Icewing had also mentioned that she didn't know which bloodline Vis had, but something within Vis was telling him that he was on the good path in this regard.

"He moved more than once, so stop getting that excited," Vis couldn't bear more exclamations from his mother, "At least try to see through him. See more than one slash for your child," He ordered with his harsh tone, then began to analyze the fourth prince in the silence.

His mother flinched at this tone and one could only see her expressionless for a while. Her face soon distorted with uneasiness as Celes' focus led her to nothing and no results screamed of another reprimand from Vis.

The mother and son kept looking over the fourth prince in silence, then headed back to their mansion.

"Master, I could see through his swordsmanship," Miku poured cold water on Celes with her words.

The white-haired dullahan raised her eyes at Vis who smiled at her brightly, "At least you are achieving something. That's good. We will continue to learn day by day."

"Yes," Miku replied and her eyes returned to looking at the floor like a good maid she was supposed to be.

For next month, the emperor hadn't called Vis at all.

He was also unavailable to anyone and his whole life seemed confined in the chamber. This was something that raised suspicion from the empress and the first concubine, but both of them were rejected by the advisor which was that old man.

Vis had the pleasure to see these two women from afar and his heart hurt from how different these two were compared to his mother.

Nonetheless, the fifth prince had been doing great and people began to notice him more in the royal circle.

He didn't look like a weakling that avoided attention, his steps confident with a clear goal behind. It was unavoidable for Vis to get some attention, but he couldn't keep up with the fifth prince's real life here.

This was just too sad and his body refused to keep his head low for all those people… "It's just human nature to make mistakes… I still managed to pass those achievements to you, though," Vis glanced at his mother.

Celes had been reading a lot of books about the titan's origins. She also often looked at Vis training his bloodline by continuously summoning silver gloves and dancing with Miku in her mansion.

The lady focused more on the history rather than her looks and pleasure, so if the emperor were to question her about the Merthic Empire's ancestry, Celes would unmistakably surprise him.

Vis also had been trying to learn about the Merthic Empire's armory.

A few days ago, he managed to get his hands on a few armor pieces used by the general's soldiers. He used Celes for that and began to experiment with each piece of equipment. Those experiments ended up as Celes' achievement.

"It's said that the Crown Prince's wisdom had accelerated manufacturing of the empire's armors and weapons. He also managed to make those stronger and the Merthic Empire had won some eastern lands from the Kuyu Empire…"

The Crown Prince was the first prince and someone who was already the next emperor. His strength was the reason, but he began to show off in other areas lately.

The Second Prince was known as the priest as he had considerable status in The Titan Church. The popular belief was that the emperor could speak with The Titan Gods and the empire naturally used this for their advantage.

But the belief was also real and citizen's prayers could reach the soldiers.

The Third Prince worked in the alchemy and medicine area, his knowledge matching the oldest foxes here. Even the most strict old men had sung praises for him and his talent.

The Fourth was also called War Freak and Vis already had the pleasure to speak and see him.

So what would be the fifth prince's specialty? Of course, Vis didn't plan to show off, so he used Celes as a proxy and made her a great archeologist and blacksmith at the same time.

Her most known achievement was that Celes managed to manufacture an imprint that stopped the armors from crumbling after losing their energy.

"Ah!" This very person screamed suddenly, then a smile bloomed on her face.

"What happened?" Vis asked, his eyes emotionless.

"The future prodigy just kicked me… It's nothing serious, but I feel so content and I think he can feel it too!" Celes would be a good woman if she could keep up this hard work for a long time, but Vis had already seen her urge to just go to the mirror and put on some make-up.

He sighed and told her to rest which meant that he gave her mirror a green light.

"Just don't spend all night here. You have to sleep regularly," Vis left her with these words.

-

After closing Celes' doors, Vis glanced at the maid and told her to keep an eye on her. His eyes and straight posture had been already a gossip between those maids.

The maid just nodded a few times, then wished farewell to Vis who disappeared to the basement.

It was a huge basement of considerable size for this mansion.

It had become Vis' personal playground where he learned more of his bloodline, the empire's armory, and his undead techniques.

"Uuuuu…" The Zombie appeared next to him, then Vis eyes scanned through it.

In the next second, the zombie's arms became silver and covered in the thin, but tough skin that the Merthic Empire had boasted off in the whole continent.

This was the combination of his two strongest techniques!

Vis learned it by focusing on Liam's swordsmanship, but also on his technique that coated the sword in this silver skin.

"It's so calm here… I am getting armors regularly through Celes and can use these to strengthen my bloodline… I am also learning more about my undead army, but it's too calm… I am itching for some thrill experience…"

Vis also had other side effects. He was eating more and had problems with sleeping. There was part of him that just didn't allow him to sleep unless he was extremely tired from work-out, so Vis mostly slept after absorbing the armor's energies or other experiments…

Now that he yet again reminded himself of these side-effects, Vis decided to meet the emperor by sneaking into his chamber, "If it's protected, then someone will stop me by its doors. If not, then I will go inside and see how the emperor is doing… I just need some thrill…. Not your eyes," Remembering those eyes of the fourth prince and other stronger people that just scoffed at him, Vis sighed and prepared some spare clothes.

Thanks for reading! Have a nice day! ^^
