Chapter 8

At that time a teacher came into the class and made an important announcement, about their field trip. They will go to Jeju island for 3 days. The announcement made the others cheer, they liked activities like that but not Thea. The trip meant she had to spend money.

The bell rang, signaling class was over and it was time for lunch. Some students walk out of class to eat in the canteen or choose to gossip in class. Thea was still sitting in her seat at that time, she looked out the window and saw lots of students there, playing in the field.

Thea kept staring at the field until someone caught her attention, it was Karen. She ran to the sidelines and Ethan came up to her, she rubbed the towel on Ethan's face before Ethan returned to the field. The scene made Thea sick.

"Look, my girl is watching me," Noah said and Ethan who was standing not far from him looked where Noah's eyes were looking. He saw Thea, looking at him from inside her classroom.

"Theaaa!!! Come here" Noah shouted, but Thea was silent. She just stood up from her chair and left.

"Is she coming here?" Noah said, he faced his friends.

"There's no way she's listening to what you say, let's play again," Sam said.

Noah turned to Ethan who was still silent in his place, he seemed to be looking for something with his eyes.

"Hey, what did you see?" Noah said.

"No, nothing," Ethan says and Noah invites him back to playing.

Not long after, when they were still busy playing basketball, suddenly Thea came, she sat on the sidelines. She didn't usually do that. She never liked being in crowds. Karen saw Thea sitting alone on the sidelines and immediately approached her, she and her two friends sat beside Thea.

"What are you doing here?" Karen said.

"Watching them play," Thea said.

"Them? I'm sure there is someone who catches your attention, finally, this snail comes out of its shell. Who do you like among them? You know I'm close to all of them, I can help you." Thea just smiled and turned to Karen.

"No thanks. I can do it myself"

"Who do you think you are? They're not all on your level, you think it's easy to get one of them?" Karen said.

"I think I've got one," Thea said.

Noah ran over to Thea and Karen, his face covered in sweat. He stood before them.

"Are you two friends now?" Noah said.

"No, he's not on my level, let's go," Karen said and left with her friends.

"Very interesting, I asked you to come and you came," Noah said, he sat beside Thea with a heavy breath.

"Ahh, I'm so tired, did you see that I scored more points than the others," Noah said while leaning back on the chair.

"What time does the party start?" Thea said.

"Huh? A party? Ahh, you mean a party at Harry's? Do you want to come?"

"I dunno, I was just asking"

"Maybe at 9, come over, or do you want me to pick you up?" Noah said.

"No thanks" Thea didn't even look at Noah, she just focused on the field and saw someone there who was watching them.

"Okay, I'll wait for you there" Thea nodded and left from there, her gaze was interrupted by the boy.

She went to Luna's class and it just so happened that Luna left her class. They are in different classes and floors.

"Hey, Thea, what's going on here?" Luna said.

"Are you coming to Harry's party?"

"What? Excuse me, but are you asking me to go to a party?" Luna said and Thea just looked at her coldly.

"Okay fine, why did you take me there?" Luna said.

"Noah asked me to invite you"

"Noah? He asked you to a party?"

"Do you want to come with me or not? That's the only question"

"Why are you so to the point? What time is the party?" Luna said.

"9 pm"

"Okay, I'm coming with you," Luna said.

Thea didn't know why she did this, why did she invite Luna? Why did she want to come to the party? She doesn't have any goals. She also didn't know why she would come to a place like that. The party wasn't Thea. But when she spent time in the bar and drank whatever was given to her, she felt her mind was much calmer, she was just dizzy but she wasn't worrying about her life.

Class ended, and Thea went home, she walked through the gate alone, but someone ran from behind to chase her.

"Thea, why did you leave me? Did you forget I asked you to wait for me?" Luna said.

"No"

"Ish, don't be like that again, let's go home and go together from now on, can I borrow your earbuds again? We can listen to music like this morning"

"No"

They sat at the bus stop, waiting for their bus to come. Not only were they, but there were also a lot of people there.

"Thea" Thea just glanced at her.

"I follow your Instagram account but you ignore me, can you follow back my account?

"This" Thea gave her phone to Luna, of course, that made Luna confused.

"What's this?"

"Save your number there, I'll call you tonight."

"Finally, we can exchange messages right?"

"No, just for tonight"

"Why?" Luna said.

"You don't need to know the reason" Luna just shrugged her shoulders and saved the number on Thea's phone.

"And Luna.." Thea said.

"What?"

"I've never been to a party, I don't know--"

"You don't know what to wear?" Luna said and Thea just nodded.

"Come to my apartment first, I have a lot of dresses that are suitable to wear to a party"

"Okay" Luna just smiled.

They finally communicated it didn't matter what they were talking about, but Luna was happy that Thea wanted to talk to her. She feels her efforts have paid off and this is a good result for her.
