--Next Day--

After resting for the whole day and being assisted by the system recovery system, Luke was able to vaguely discern his condition already reached 70% from its peak.

And as he expected, today the school called his mother regarding the chaos he created yesterday. Because Luke was worried about his mother's safety, he dialled Andrew Morgan's number, "Hello, mister Andrew, it's me, Luke Lewis, the student you saved yesterday."

"Oh, childe Luke, did something happen?" Andrew asked concernedly.

"Umm...I'm not sure whether this is dangerous or not, but my mother was invited to the school due to yesterday's incident. I was quite afraid they will do something to my mother, considering how I'm almost dead by one of their teacher." Luke explained.

Andrew went silent for a moment before said, "Rest assured, just now I appointed my subordinates to keep watch over your mother's wellbeing. If they spotted a suspicious action, they'd act immediately to protect your mother."

Patting his chest in relief, Luke said sincerely, "Thank you, mister Andrew, and sorry for troubling you."

They chatted a little before Luke's mother announced that she's about to depart. Bidding farewell to Andrew, Luke quickly stepped outside his room, "Mom."

"You should prepare for the worst, Luke. Hearing your explanation, I'm afraid you'll get expelled, even if you only did it on the spur to protect yourself." Luke's mother stated.

"I know. You're the one who should be careful, mom."

"You're thinking too much," Luke's mother shakes her head as she wears her shoes and saunters to the door, "I'm going first."

"Goodbye." Luke waved his hands.

'Now, what should I do?' Luke questioned himself inwardly. He fell into deep thought before a memory flashed in his mind. That memories were still vivid in his mind since it happens not long ago.

Marching to his room, Luke quickly freshen up and wear a completely black hoodie and mask to equalize its color with a place he's about to visit.

...

District Black

It was named District Black due to its environment which is totally dark. Getting surrounded by many skyscrapers that totally blocked out the sun's light, the area always looks dark as night.

As he entered the area, a smell of tobacco and sting perfume immediately strike his nostril. Even with the mask on, Luke still feels uncomfortable by the scent the place emitted.

As he ventured deeper, Luke sees the hubbub grew louder, and the number of people he sees increased. Along with the advancement of the number of people, trouble has undoubtedly happened. There are already a few battles that occurred during 5 minutes of him travelling.

If it weren't for the sake of leveling up, he wouldn't even think about set his foot at this place. Just before, he already tried leveling up by constantly exercising and doing some workouts. But the result was disappointing. His EXP didn't increase, and only his stat point did improve.

Henceforth, the only way he could think of increasing his level was searching for an opponent and defeating him. He didn't know how many years it takes for him to level up if he only depends on the daily quest. Fortunately, the recovery reward the system provided did pretty well.

He could topple 4 people yesterday with only a basic stat, and now having 10 additional stat points would definitely bring him to another level. He was confident he could at least retreat safely if he couldn't beat the people he about to confront. Engrossed in his thought, Luke only snapped out from his thought upon felt bumping someone's body.

"Sorry," Luke apologized and about to walk away when the other party demanded, "Wait! Do you think sorry is enough?"

Luke, who was getting stopped, couldn't help but turned around in puzzlement while silently thinking, 'What the hell? I just bumped accidentally bumped him and even apologized to him. Did people these days really have to be that petty?'

As he turned around, Luke finally could discern the person he bumped against. It was a bald guy with a dragon tattoo on his hairless head. Creasing his forehead, the bald-man spoke harshly, "Hand over your money!"

"How much?" Luke asked back calmly.

"1000$ should be sufficient for the cost of treating my shoulder that gets injured by you." The man grinned and made a gesture of asking.

This scene wasn't strange to him. He was in fact familiar since the same event like this also occurred to him a few weeks back. The perpetrator also coincidentally the same, the baldy-guy.

That day the school choose to send their students earlier than the scheduled time due to an urgent meeting they are about to have. On the way home, someone in the running suddenly tripped over his own steps. A kind-hearted Luke didn't have the heart to ignore such a scene. Thus, he approaches the man, intending to help him. But in the next second he offered his hand, the man inserted something within his palm before abruptly stood up and resumed his sprint.

Luke, who wasn't able to perceive what's the meaning of the wallet inside his palm, could only mumble confusedly, "Has he mistaken the wallet for something else?"

Just then, a raging shout entered his ears, "STOP RIGHT THERE, YOU THIEF!!"

Connecting the dots between the man he saved and the wallet inside his head, Luke could now conclude what's the reason behind the man's abrupt leave. Instantly, he dropped the wallet down and raised his hand in surrender, "It wasn't me. The guy who stole your wallet run through the-"

Before Luke able to finish his sentence, a punch landed on his face, causing him to stumbled backward and fell on his butt. Luke about to explain he got the wrong man when another punch landed upon his face. In the end, he couldn't explain as he ended up getting beaten by the man's group.

After beating Luke till his face swollen, the man reached out his hand and grabbed the wallet that Luke dropped earlier on the ground, "You shouldn't have messed with me!"

'But I'm not!' Luke wanted to say that but his consciousness already drifted away. The last thing he could discern from the man's appearance was a dragon tattoo on his bald head.

Because of that, Luke ended up getting hospitalized for a few days and was only permitted to leave a few weeks later under his mother's strict observation.
