Ch 87: The Next Need

While Victoria slept soundly naked between his arm and the sheet. Kai stared up at the ceiling with his red glowing sphere eyes. Sexually, he was satisfied up to the brim of fondness. However, his heart was torn to feel Victoria was cut off from him. Aware her heart still belonged to Orlando killed his immortal heart.

'In due time, she'll know I am her destined mate.' Kai internally reassured himself in an attempt to mend his heartache.

Deep down, he wanted to tell her the truth about his existence.

He could have easily shown her his glowing red eyes while we mated. Kai thought but instead he had Victoria close her eyes to avoid frightening her. In case he couldn't fully control his eyes from glowing and his fangs from submerging in his mouth.

Mating with her awoken that predator beneath him. Countless times he had to hold back from marking her especially when he tasted her blood on her breast. Throughout the entire time, he mated with her. He had to conserve himself from going overboard. To avoid that urge so he wouldn't mark her or mistakingly feed on her.

In slow gradual steps since he's found Victoria. He's been establishing goals to control his instincts that want to kill and feed. No, lying on his part with having a human mate was a bit changeling for Kai. One wrong move he could effortlessly kill her before he'd get the chance to turn her.

Kai took a light breath and rolled Victoria out of his arms. He grinned when the sheet was pinned underneath her armpit from over the top of the sheet. Which caused her breasts to stand out in his viewpoint even through the pitch-black bedroom. Kai had to bite the urgency from waking his sleeping beauty for another round of pleasure. But he couldn't do that without mistakingly harming her.

Right now there was another need of his that he had to quench. He quickly grabbed a shower this way it would get some of the mating stench off his body. The last thing he needed was another vampire to smell Victoria's lovely scent on his body. So he had to be cleansed to avoid attracting another vampire. Any vampire would easily pick up the scent that he mated with a human. And most earthly vampires and vampiresses that were born on this planet knew Kai way too well. Enemies and those he never cared to socialize with would know he had found his mate. Which might not be a good thing seeing how Victoria is a delicate human.

Once he was good and cleaned. He dried his muscular nude body and then got dressed in a nice lean dressy black shirt and punk-style pants.

Afterward, he quietly picked up the wedding clothes that had been scattered all over the carpet. And nearly hung them inside the closet for someone to get them later. Before he left, he kissed Victoria's temples. Then he left the hotel room and went into the hotel hallway.

Within a dash, he was out of the hallway. At such a great velocity that his surroundings were smashed together. But Kai knew exactly where he was going, he just wasn't focusing his eyes on slowness but he could smell everything on his whereabouts.

The rooms and items he passed were obscured. Until he flopped a seat on that bar stool between Ace and Rome.

Not paying attention, Rome almost fell off the stool because he was too busy flirting with another unmated vampiress from their clan.

"Jeez, Kai!" Rome said, catching himself before he face-planted on the floor. Which caused the pretty vampiress named Sharlene to giggle cutely at him.

Across the bar, Jack, Ivan, Mia, Ava, and John sat there laughing from witnessing it. Along with a handful of other Vampires and Vampiresses. Towards the right next to Ace, Rose was surprisingly up as she took a sip on her glass of human blood.

"I'm guessing Victoria finally wore out on you?" Ace asked, grinning.

"You guessed correctly," Kai replied with a sense of pride to take her virginity without harming her when he smelled her blood.

Jack laughed, "I'd asked for details but seeing how there are vampiresses around I'll ask later."

Upon hearing the vampires laugh, Rose threw her empty shot glass at him. Without him looking, Jack caught it with one hand and set it down in front of him laughing with the other vampires. It's not the first time Rose threw something hard at him and it won't be the last. As she and the vampiresses laughed to see what she did.

Kai stood up from his seat and said. "Let's go hunt."

"Bring me some good blood," Rose seductively said before she smooched her mate, Ace.

Ace said, gesturing a flirty brow, "always." One last time he kissed her before standing up.

Once the mated pairs like Ace and Ivan kissed their female mates goodbye. Kai intensely watched John pampering his cousin Ava with loving kisses. Such as any fated mates would do.

For now, he was pleased to see John keeping his words to care for Ava as if she were his fated mate. Whenever John and Ava fall into the category that neither of them was destined to have a mate. Of course, this didn't mean matchmaking couldn't be made for a coven to unite. Or if an unmated pair just so happen to fall naturally in love.

Really it only meant they had the choice to make their relationship work or let it crumble into failure from disloyalty. Which wasn't always what some vampires or vampiresses intended to do. At least with Kai's coven, his royal family wanted their married couples to be faithful like fated mates. Unlike other vampire royal covens around; didn't care about being faithful since love and lust was a choice for those that weren't meant to have a mate, Kai thought.

Therefore John has yet to earn his trust. Kai was going to keep an extra eye on him. After all, John's sister Samantha wasn't a loyal vampiress. Kai could recall that he always smelled another vampire scent on her lips whenever he kissed her.

So why would her older brother John be any different? It might be a judgmental ponder but until John earned my trust, I will remain to doubt him.

All the male vampires, including John and some of his clan, left together while the Vampiresses stayed behind. The vampiresses didn't always tag along for the hunt. More times they took this opportunity to get away from their males and have this time for themselves.
