Within a blink of an eye. Time passed by in a flash since my fight with Kai. Today is Friday and I stand here in the mirror wearing the same wedding gown I had picked three days ago.
The wedding gown was a mermaid-style pure white Gothic design. Its trail was cathedral length with lace and a black seam. Just past my knee on the skirt was see-through lace, to show off my delicate skin. The bodice was decollete style and hoisted my breasts up in the perfect showcase. From my left rib cage was an uneven gentle trail of black gem decorative butterflies going to my right hip.
On my open back was tied in an elegant criss-cross design with black pearls pinned down my lower spine. Then the veil was long with glittering lace that went down my back. My hair was in a curly half-do pinned up in dazzling diamond chips, including the veil. Hiding behind the veil was my face covered in professional makeup that enhanced my gentle features to look vibrant and flawless.
There wasn't a thing about my porcelain makeup and this gown I would change. The word perfection was an understatement for how radiant I looked in this gown I chose.
Honestly, the only difference about the gown from when I bought it. Is that a high-class fashion designer covered the wedding gown in real diamonds and added more black diamond butterflies on the veil and trail. Which made the whole dress sparkle when I moved.
The dress was elegant with a dash of sexy. It's exactly what I wanted and dreamed of ever having. However, it didn't mend the pain in which I had buried beneath me. I've gone completely numb just to bear with the truth that Orlando had betrayed my heart. Without care, Kai was making me marry him with no choice given.
Now, this very Friday morning will be the marked day that I am forever bound and married to Kai. Till death do us part.
"It's like any ordinary wedding," I told myself in the mirror all to make sure I kept some sanity.
One day I'll cry over my heartbreak for Orlando but not today, I won't. Today I'll enjoy my wedding and gown like any girl's dream. Since a lot of girls never get the pleasure to have the perfect ordinary wedding like me. The only change I'd make is the groom.
A few gentle taps came at my door before it opened to see in the mirror's reflection, it was Veronica. My soon-to-be sister-in-law came in, shimmering at my appearance.
"Awe, Victoria, you look like a queen, not a bride." She complimented gleefully.
"Thank you."
"Everyone is ready if you are." She spoke softly.
"I suppose, I'm as ready as I'll ever be," I replied and turned to face her.
Instantly, she embraced me with a warm hug.
"I promise, things will work out between you and Kai," Veronica whispered. "Kai will take care of you."
I didn't say anything since I had my doubts. Genuinely, I had to make this marriage work somehow. After all, he has a contract signed by me, which who knows what's written on it. Then my signature is on the marriage certificate, all thanks to Kai's threat. Fate had willed me to be right here by him. Like I've said, I was bound to Kai as his prisoner.
Veronica opened the door and I could hear beautiful orchestra music playing in this glorious Gothic chapel. The church was very old. Likely dating far past the 1700 hundreds. It was a beautiful castle and huge for its size. It's just absolutely breathtaking and downright expensive!
Rose, Mia, Zoey, Ava, and Veronica lined up as my bridesmaids with their husbands to lead them. Zoey's and Chester's four-year-old daughter was the flower girl and then their six-year-old son was the ring bearer. Within a matter of minutes, I will have four nephews and one niece by my forced marriage to Kai.
More music played to start the wedding like any other. Everyone walked down accordingly. I held up my mixture of white, blue, black rose, and baby breaths bouquet and took easy breaths to avoid fainting.
The veil laced over my face and my wedding dress moved graciously. It opened up like a cobweb on the carpet and flared like a Queen behind my calves. Since I had no father to give me away. I solely stepped into place to give myself away. To a man that turned my life into catastrophic chaos with my emotions. That tore my heart into raw battered flesh.
Once I saw Kai's beautiful little niece ascend the aisle like a princess. She dropped white rose petals down on each slow step. This was the time I mentally prepared to walk myself down the aisle.
My stomach twisted into a knot when everyone stood up from hearing the traditional bridal music being played. I couldn't stop my heart from pounding. To see this massive crowd stood from their seats. No wonder why we needed such a huge chapel. There had to be over a hundred people in here. For whatever reason the atmosphere was disquiet.
Most of them wore Gothic-style suits and dresses which, I think, are interesting to match my ideal wedding theme. Although I felt like I was a sacrificial bride to a coven of vampires. By the way, some of the young men looked like they were carving to drink my blood.
If I wasn't such a vampire nerd. I'd probably high tail it on out of here. Luckily, I love the vampire atmosphere that lurks here, which seemingly fits my taste.
Also, I noticed some of them wore dark-tinted sunglasses. I guess Kai's eye condition is hereditary?
Putting up a brave shield, I held my breath and stopped staring at everyone. I looked forward and found Kai at the altar where he awaits for me. He was dressed dashingly handsome in his Gothic-looking punk black tux and for once he wasn't wearing the shades. Gosh, he simmered in this undeniable stir frying hottest! The ladies would be screaming kidnap me next! Kai had it all too easy with those killer looks of his.
One step at a time, I took, until I reached him. He took my arm like a gentleman and Veronica took my bouquet. The second I gaze into his breathtaking agate eye color. It felt as if I went under a spell. I was awestruck by his eyes when the Pastor marrying us started the wedding like any ordinary wedding. We were properly married under the oath of God. Then the rings were delivered to us by his little adorable nephew.
