*Ch 235: He Asked For It

Later in the afternoon, Ava, Sharlene, Rose, and I lay inside this circular living room on these couches that are set in a round placement to accommodate the Greek-style room.

Officially it was the first week of October, and I was fourteen weeks pregnant. Ava, Sharlene, Rose, Mrs. Collin, and myself have been miserable with our pregnancies. Luckily for Ava and Mrs. Collin had reached their third trimester, and Rose was due the next month. Unlike them, Sharlene and I still had a ways to go.

Thanks to my sickness and shock from witnessing Billy's death, I haven't gone to college much. Five days ago was Billy's funeral. Glenn was able to thaw him out in a bathtub. The family thinks he died from crashing his car in a lake. Unfortunately, the family can't know the truth, but I understood it had to be done.

Then Kai wasn't here for the funeral, but I knew he didn't care for that sorta thing. So I wasn't too upset about it. I'd only been lonely from not seeing him for six days.

Throughout the first week, while I was thirteen weeks pregnant and after Billy's death, Kai had been most supportive of me before he left for another worldly dimension. He was so lovable it's like I hardly knew him. Then he had to leave because he was still trying to find a safe place to hide me.

On those thoughts, Jack ambled into the room, and my eyes lit up because Kai should be home. He went straight toward Sharlene, laying on the couch across the entryway. I was on the couch across the wall. Rose and Ava were sitting together on the couch that had the entrance behind them.

Right away, Jack sat on the edge by Sharlene. She rolled his way, and her face may have been paler than mine, but I wasn't fully sure.

"Come on, Sharlene, you need to let me help you," Jack persisted. "Our baby needs my blood. I've been consuming enough to sustain you, our baby, and myself."

Sharlene smirked weakly. Before I think any of us saw it coming, she sat up and threw Jack underneath her waist. She hotly pinned him down, and he allowed it. Her fangs extended before she mawed them into his neck.

Jack hissed with enjoyment. You could tell by the way, his hands slowly fondled and stroked her body that he was getting hotly excited. And it was quite awkward to watch.

Reading those vampire books, I knew vampires love to be bitten by their mates or lovers. Jack and Sharlene may have felt neither of the two for each other, but it didn't change the sure fact he was in his glory. All he's been doing is sucking up to Sharlene.

Quite frankly, she hasn't been making anything easy on him. Secretly, Kai shared with me that Jack wants to marry her since she bears his sacred mark and vamp baby.

There is nothing that can be erased about the sacred mark. In most ways, I felt Jack was doing the right thing, and Sharlene needs to lighten up. But I didn't interfere with their affairs. I knew it was a tricky situation because Rex did this to them. Otherwise, Sharlene wouldn't have borne Jack's sacred mark or vamp baby.

Once finished, Sharlene released him, hissing fulfilled. Her complexion looked much better. Jack's eyes were bleeding red with desire. It's almost the same expression Kai has whenever he's turned on, but his eyes are more loving, not lustful.

"I'm going to get a shower." Jack rolled her off his waist, informing her.

Most of us tried not to laugh, and we averted our eyes not to stare at his bulging pants. He was sure to vanish quickly.

Satisfied, Sharlene relaxed back, telling us. "Well, he asked for it."

Across from her, Ava jokes, "Well, he got it."

"He didn't fully get it all the way!" Rose cracked up, toying around.

None of us couldn't hold back from understanding Rose's dirty joke.

In the middle of laughing, Rome, Ace, Kai, and John entered in. At the center-round coffee table, Rome set a tray down that had teacups filled with freshly brewed mint leaf tea in them.

"A lifesaver!" Sharlene chanted, taking a teacup.

Rose and Ava welcomed themselves to one, and their husbands sat with them. Rome left, saying nothing. Kai handed me a teacup and sat next to me once I sat up.

"Any luck?" I asked, and he knew what I meant.

"Not yet, but I'm not giving up," Kai concluded, and then he kissed my head. I cuddled up beside him, and he wrapped his arm over my shoulders. "I'm surprised you're being this cooperative about leaving," he stated at random.

"Well, I understand..." I said with a pause. Then I sipped this magical tea, which took my nausea away on the spot.

Kai sighed as if he read me. "It's because of Orlando, isn't it?" he bitterly questioned.

But I couldn't reply, because I knew he guessed correctly, but he had only returned home. Already he was in one of his unpredictable edgy moods.

"I'm trying to leave for your safety, and you wanna leave to forget about Orlando," he exclaimed, more vexatious.

There was this cringe-worthy silence with his friends and family, which caused me to feel embarrassed by his blatant attitude.

"Please, Kai, you've only returned home, must you bring this up?" I asked, trying to guilt him out. "We've been getting along, I don't wish to fight."

I could tell my innocent voice was working in my favor to soften a ruthless barbaric vampire.

"You're right." He gently agreed before kissing my temple.

Maybe three pennies dropped before anyone's voice outwardly pearled to break the quiet awkwardness.

"So, yeah, where's Jack?" John randomly asked to alter the subject.

Of course, Ava, Rose, Sharlene, and I didn't hold in our giggles.

"Oh, I'm sure he's quite busy with himself after being handled by Sharlene," Rose's perverted joking escaped her lips. Now our giggles switched over to much noisier laughter from the previous quietness.

Kai, Ace, and John stared at us weirdly confused, until it dawned on them.

"I understand his pain," Ace outwardly admitted and Rose's outburst got louder as she nearly choked on her tea.

That was when Kai did his best to hold himself together. I'm sure he remembers he put himself in that disposition around the time we first met. He tried punishing me with pleasure but he only ended up punishing himself. As I recall, he ended up sole in the shower too.

"Let's head to the bedroom because I need to talk to you about something," Kai said, taking my hand to stand from the couch. So I set the empty teacup on the tray.
