**Ch 341: Grandfathers

After staring at the pasture to an extent, I went back to Morbius as I wondered what he was writing.

"This book looks similar to the ones you have back at home," I mentioned.

Kai revealed, "They are the same books."

"Do you know what he is writing?" I questionably wondered.

"Whatever he learned. Down the line of our descendants, we always wrote about our feelings and what we've learned in full detail. And we shared copies with each other," Kai shared.

"Who wrote that book your dad gave me whenever I was in Egypt?" I questioned as the thought came to mind.

"Duncan. It only contains very little details written in it for women that have destined mates without knowing it." Kai told me, which made sense because I had to find him without realizing it.

I recalled as Vlad came by to take a seat across from Morbius by the fire. Although I noticed he was followed by someone else. The little boy, who is Ace's grandpa, took a seat beside him.

In a haste, Rome's grandmother went to fetch him, but Vlad held his hand up and ensured her. "No harm will come to him. Go bathe and dress yourself."

"I–" her mouth gaped to speak until she shut it when Vlad smiled genially at her. She gave a nod and went about her way to freshen up.

From out of a woven basin, Vlad picked up this strange round fuzzy purple fruit, and he offered it to the small boy. "Eat up, little one. We must show Morbius here. You will be mightier than a lion one day."

"Hmm, if he speaks one word, then my doubts will dwindle," Morbius disparaged the boy with a hum, and Vlad gave him a narrow look.

Almost immediately, Morbius had softened his eyes as he reassured him. "I only worry about you, my friend. You keep picking weaker followers over the enslaved gladiators for your Coven. I'd hate to see you fall because your Coven was weak."

Vlad smiled. "I know you mean well. But even if my gift of wisdom is wrong, my Coven will never be weak because one day you and I will properly unite our Covens by a marriage with our firstborn offspring."

Morbius nodded with a gladdened smile as he pridefully determined. "Right, you are! Because your daughter will make a fine wife for my son."

Vlad cocked his head. "Now, who says it won't be the other way around, my friend?" He dauntlessly asked.

"I say!" Morbius was firm on his theory.

"I'll make a wager on that!" Vlad challenged him, and I laughed as they began to playfully bicker.

"Done!" Morbius took the challenge head-on.

"They act like brothers," I giggled.

Kai replied. "For not being related, they once did."

"I can't understand what would break them apart," I muffled more to myself as I watched them go at it with their harmless words while the little boy was eating his fruit quietly. As that question pondered inside my mind. The scene before me went black.

"What's happening!" I hollered.

"Your time-gap triggered itself. It's moving you forward," Kai explained.

Not a second later, a crowd of people appeared before my eyes. From being in a cave, I found myself at the market as Vlad seemed to be browsing around.

"Why am I in a market?" I outwardly questioned as I pursued Vlad unseen around the public.

"Are you moving around okay, or does it hurt?" Instead of answering me, Kai questioned me about my well-being.

"I feel fine." After I confirmed that, another Headmaster approached Vlad.

"Shopping, I see," he commented, chuckling at Vlad.

"Who is this Headmaster?" I outwardly asked.

"Pay attention," Kai lectured, and I giggled at him.

"Yes, I am searching for additional supplies for the new ladies I recently found," Vlad replied.

"How is your Coven thriving?" asked the other Headmaster.

"Doing well, Vincent. I've recently found good future wives who will be good breeders for their husbands after I transform everyone on the Brightest Blue Moon. My Coven will be fearsome one day." Vlad excitedly shared.

"Do males only ever see females as breeders!" I groused from hearing him say such degrading things.

"Times were different then. The Headmasters were just starting the first of their Kind. Naturally, they needed females for vamp babies," Kai proclaimed.

"Yet my full womb tells me a different story," I grumbled, getting cranky at him, and he laughed.

"I said pay attention," Kai diverted the topic.

"Real smooth, Kai. This argument isn't over yet," I forewarned, and he had no comment on that one.

"That's wonderful!" Vincent raved in a chirpy voice. "Have you found your mate?"

Vlad frowned in a curt reply, "No. I can't find her."

"Do you know what would help?" Vincent suggestively questioned him.

"Well, tell me?" Vlad inquired to know as he seemed desperate.

"Take a day to rest, and she'll come to you in your dreams. That's how I found my mate," Vincent apprised.

"I didn't even know we could sleep!" Vlad exclaimed energetically. "I shall do that and pass this information to Morbius. Have you picked a Coven name yet? It's been a year since we woke up."

"A year later," I mumbled, talking to myself.

"Victoria, my love, pay attention." Kai gently lectured me again.

"I finally have decided to call my Coven O'Donnell," Vincent revealed, and I was ecstatic.

"He's your grandfather too!" I effused to find out that Vlad was talking to Kai's other grandfather.

"Yes, he's my mom's dad," Kai confirmed. "He's a Predatory species too."

"This is so cool." I was awestruck by it.

Vlad praised. "I like it."

Without a given reason, Vincent seemed to frown. "I know it's not my place, but I must warn you about the vision I had last night."

"He has the gift to see into the future?" I asked Kai.

"Yes, now listen," Kai affirmed.

"Tell me what you saw?" Vlad persisted.

"In the future, your friendship with Morbius will fall to betrayal. I feel you should be careful," Vincent forewarned, but Vlad didn't take it seriously.

"I know you don't get along with Morbius. Like how I don't get along with the other Headmasters he's befriended, but I'm sure whatever you saw was probably only a misread interpretation." Vlad adamantly remarked.

"Let us hope what I saw was wrong," was the only thing Vincent could say. He knew Vlad wouldn't listen. His friendship with Morbius was too bonded for him to believe such a thing could ever break them apart.

"I'm taking you out, so you can rest. I need to be sure your time-gap stays under my control," Kai decided, and my mind began to leave.

Victoria now saw Mrs. Collin's father. Let me know your thoughts. I hope you've been enjoying this long time gap. It's been tricky the write, so I hope it turned out well and made an interesting read for you all to enjoy.
