Surrounded...again

'Once again, I've arrived in another unknown area. How was I supposed to know that the Center Spawn was so vast, I guess your priorities are different when you're just looking for a spot to hide and not to survive many nights.'

I thought while blindly following Patricia to the location she found. Then once Patricia told me that we were getting close to the location, a horrid scent assaulted my nose.

'Beasts!' I thought while continuing to follow Patricia but rather than being as relaxed as her I was far more on guard.

'Just how many beasts are there? I've never smelt this many in one location before?' I thought before seeing what it was my nose had picked up on.

"There was a turf war between the Thunder Wolves and the Night Ravens. And unfortunately for us they've spotted us, and normally beasts dislike humans so much that they'll team up and attack them together."

Patricia said as she stepped out into the open and took a look around the waterfall. And to only her knowledge their was a cave inside of it, and once again it was filled with beast rugs and heads.

But this time it also was filled with canned goods like beans and corn etc.

Once Patricia was out in the open the last remaining Thunder Wolf and three other Night Ravens began surrounding them. The wolf jumped down from the waterfall and into the water before swimming to land and electrifying the water.

While the Night Ravens soared through the air and fired shadow orbs at her.

"Such speed, their at least Rank 2! And based on the wolf's intelligence I'd say it's a Grade 2!" Patricia said before taking cover behind some trees while dodging the attacks.

'She's not half bad and her knowledge of beasts is quite helpful in battle.' I thought before rushing into the battle field while stepping on dead wolves and ravens and empowering Ki into my legs to unleash a very powerful kick.

The hit sent the drying Thunder Wolf into the left side of the cave wall. Most if not all of his ribs were broken and his legs completely mingled.

It's life was just hanging by a thread. Then suddenly the wolf fell into the electrifying water and well, it died. In a way I guess you could say it caused it's own death.

'Why was that kick so strong? It was only meant to send it flying into the woods, and I've got to work on my aim.' I thought before being forced to move as I was being shot at by the ravens.

Fortunately I ran into the woods and thus dodged the attack. That was before the two birds began to speak.

"We have orders from Number Three to take this turf, and that you have only a tiny amount of time left to join us!" The ravens said together by switching the speaker after each word.

Then they fired a beam instead of mere orbs this attack manages to injure my side and almost cause my death if the beam had been higher and if the tree had flattened me into meat paste.

[-3 Life Force!]

'How could I understand them? Actually how did I even understand Number three? Were they speaking in English?'

'Ding!'

[The host has received the ability to perceive beast speech as humans do in English.]

'Thanks System now it time to get my revenge.' Or so I thought before seeing two object fly straight into the Night Ravens.

"I did it! I hit them!" Patricia shouted while carrying sharp wooden sticks.

'That's what she was up to all this time. Ah, I actually thought she might have ran. Guess she mentally stronger than I thought.'

I thought before walking over to Patricia and sitting on the ground surrounded by corpses.

"Good job, but where's the spot you mentioned? You don't want us to sleep in the open all night do you?" I asked Patricia, seeing as I couldn't find a good enough spot.

"The spots behind the waterfall entrance, but we won't be able to get in for a while because of the Thunder Wolf. Undress you want us to die like it."

"I'd rather not, I've got plans inside of the academy. I'll get into the golden no matter what." I said before going around and picking up the fallen corpses after a while I had a total of three Thunder wolves and seven night ravens.

'Only one wolf will due, it looks like the Night Ravens damaged their brains. And the darkness is slowly eating away at the other two, luckily this one will suffice. As for the night ravens I hope their small brains will still give me the deserved stat points.'

I thought before walking off into the forest on a 'pee break'. Where I was actually devouring the brains of the fallen beasts.

[You have received eight stat points!]

[Unallocated Stat Points: 9]

'Great I'll use these points to boost my strength and stamina.'

[Four points have been allocated to strength!]

[Strength: 24!]

[Four points have been allocated to stamina!]

[Stamina: 18!]

'And I'll leave the extra just in case of an emergency.'

'Now, what should I do? Who will I side with in this war? I've touched this topic a bit before but I should get my answer straight.'

'Should I lead the Beast Lord on? Or should I help the humans? Even though the humans don't seem to like my family, I'll fight for them!'

'Though only because my family is human; my uncle and aunt are human. I am… a beast but at heart I'm still human, plus I just go about things differently.'

'So I think I'll try and play the Beast Lord and his underlings. I'll be like a double agent if I can keep my act together when the numbers show back up. And I'll make a note not to pee myself again.'

I thought to myself before returning to Patricia and we headed through the waterfall, her first of course. Then once we entered I remembered seeing a familiar sight back in the other part of the forest.

'Is there a human living inside of the Center Spawn? If so, why are they doing it?' I came to wonder while Patricia looked around just like I as she had only poked her head inside and saw its contents before continuing on her journey through the forest when she ended up getting kidnapped.

"Let's rest for the night before heading back and clearing the exam. No funny business Marcel!" Patricia said with a rosy face.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Now that I look back on this I now understand what Patricia meant but how was I supposed to know such things about the two genders when I was just eight years old not too long ago.

So we both ended up taking two different sides of the cave inside of the waterfall and after an ok meal of beans and some corn slept well. Or at least Patricia did, whereas I made sure to stay awake not wanting to fall for any tricks as Autumn tried from Patricia.

Even though I had no reason to suspect her, I was still wary of her because why would someone kidnap a girl like her?

Then a warning screen appeared in my view and I suddenly remembered that I hadn't done any of my daily tasks so I got to work quickly.

[Ki Needed: 190]

Thus once dawn came I got a few hours of rest before being awoke by Patricia.

"What's going on?!" I shouted while jumping up violently.

"We're surrounded, and I'm starting to think that every since I met you I've been getting in far more trouble!" She said before we came near the water.

"Shut it, we run outside on my signal, stick close." Then with a slight nod from Patricia I swiftly gave a hand signal.

And as we left, I saw a beautiful woman along with two men on her side. The woman's face seemed familiar so as I came to a stop on the cold ground, I used my inspect skill.

'Inspect!'

[Autumn Say Rider]

[Life Force 10/10]

[Maxim Ki: 25 (Ki Control Beginner)]

[Strength: 18]

[Agility: 20]

[Stamina: 15]

[Endurance: 1]

"How in the world! It's Autumn! Make a run to the entrance, don't let her touch you or you'll fail the examination!" I shouted over to Patricia who wasn't even that far from me.

While I gave orders, Autumn was shocked that I could still recognize her. 'I thought I played the role quite well, whatever the cats out of the bag!'

She thought before dashing towards Patricia who began making a run for the Center Spawn entrance or in this case the finish line.

This time I was willing to take any chances, especially not on the day of return! So I empowered my lower half with all ten points of Ki and dashed off into an area more dense with trees.

'There's no one here who knows this place as well as I do!' I thought before maneuvering behind the tree and dodging the touch of the two men whereas Autumn was chasing Patrica.

'I'll make it by any means!' Patricia thought before punching a hole into a tree and throwing all the wood fragments at Autumn. To this Autumn hastily matched the wood with just one of her needles brimming with Ki.

This was enough time for Patricia to slip away from Autumn's line of sight though. Meanwhile I had just remembered my location and took the shortest route to the entrance and in a flash the two men watched me speed up.

"I'd never use my full speed right off the bat, idiots!" I shouted before quickly clearing the exam by making it back to the entrance of the Center Spawn.

And soon came Patricia who was dodging needles left and right by what seemed to be sheer luck. Though she was actually trying to confuse Autumn with her pattern of direction.

Needless to say but it was working so much that one of Autumn's needles was completely off target. And Patricia had slipped away and back to my side along with the two other lead instructors; Janice and Klaus.

"Good news, you have passed our hardest test which contained a success rate of 5%. This means you will be able to receive a free failed attempt in the next upcoming exams!" Klaus said with a lively voice.

"And if you don't use it then you'll be able to convert it into ten Golden Points, assuming you pass that is." Janice finished for Klaus.

"You also receive a replacement, how about this boy right here, I think his name is…

"It's S-Steward!" The boy without any teammates remaining replied to Autumn before performing a deep bow.

'I don't trust him… I say that often huh? I'm going crazy.'

Almost 2k words! I think I did quite good considering how I normally write 1.5k on a good day. Well, hope you enjoyed the chapter, and thanks for all the support!
