CHAPTER SIX

At some sort of secret base, Mr. Smith and rest of his men listen to every conversation Meri had with miss Jane "I knew we couldn't trust that little brat!" He shouted in anger and immediately opened a drawer and brought out a small pistol gun and headed to out as he fixes the silentia on the gun Mr. Smith was filled with a rage that was almost uncontrollable. The thought of Meri, the young woman he had trusted to do the right thing, betraying him was too much to bear. He knew he had to take matters into his own hands, and make sure she didn't get in the way of his plans. He put on his jacket and headed out the door, gun in hand, ready to confront Meri once and for all. Meri alighted from the taxi and looked around to identify which building it was and she looked up on her phone and saw which building it was then she took the stairs up to the story building and as she knocked at the door severally, there was no response and then she had to push the door gently and it open and as she quietly stepped in, behold it was Mrs. Jane with a bullet in her head ( dead ) and her heart pounded like never before and she used her both hands to hold her own mouth "I told you we could do either do this the easy way or the hard way" the tall man that once threatened her spoke as he was coming out from the next room with a devilish smile " now give me the flash or I will do this my own way" he tells Meri as he slowly approached her with the gun and Meri being so afraid moved towards the exit door but never had the intention of giving out the flash drive to him and as he tried to get hold of Meri, she quickly went out and bang the door and the man broke his nose as he hits it hard on the door Meri ran down the stairs immediately and as she reached the T junction, she was nearly knocked down by a spot bike which stopped immediately and it was "Theo" the guy he met earlier at the beach "what the heal!" He exclaimed as he quickly removed his helmet and found out it was Meri and Meri quickly jumped on the bike "just drive!" She shouted Theo was taken aback by Meri's sudden appearance and her frantic behavior. But without thinking twice, he revved the engine and took off down the street, following Meri's instructions. Meri held on tight, trying to keep her balance as they swerved through traffic. She could hear the roar of the engine and the wind whipping through her hair, but her thoughts were elsewhere. All she could think about was the flash drive, and what it might contain. As Theo looked at the rare mirror, he saw a black tinted Toyota SUV fast approaching and he increased his speed without any ado. The SUV was gaining on them, and it was clear that whoever was inside was determined to catch up. Theo did his best to outmaneuver the vehicle, but it was clear that the driver was an expert at driving. As they sped down the street, Theo could feel Meri's heart racing against his back. He could tell she was scared, but he didn't know what to do. All he could do was keep driving and hope they could get away. As the situation became more severe, Theo had a plan in mind and headed towards the crowded market and as he struggled to make his way through by horning continuously, he brought out some cash and poured it to the air and there was a huge crowd at the scene each struggling to get the money and the big SUV had no other option than to stop since they can't get through. Theo and Meri looked back as they drove away, watching as the SUV was forced to come to a halt. The crowd of people had completely surrounded the vehicle, and it was clear that the driver would not be able to continue the chase. Meri let out a sigh of relief, and Theo grinned. "We did it!" he said, high-fiving her. "I can't believe we actually got away from them!" Meri laughed, a mixture of exhilaration and relief washing over her. "You're an amazing driver, Theo!" she said. "I'm just glad we're safe. "okay, I'm really glad that whatever those guys are, they didn't catch up with us even though I lost some money but I really want to understand who those guys are and why they were after us I mean after you" Theo asked and Meri gazed at her for a while "you talk too much" she replied Theo laughed. "I guess that's one of my many charming qualities!" he said, winking at her. Meri shook her head, but she couldn't help but smile. "All joking aside, though," Theo said, his tone becoming serious. "You need to tell me what's going on. I want to help you, but I can't if you don't tell me the truth." Meri sighed, knowing that he was right. She needed to tell him everything, even if it was hard. "It's a long story," she said. "But I'll tell you everything."
