He immediately rushed in the direction of the truck, in an attempt to get to the archer, but it turned out that he was far from alone, the archer was protected at once by 5 people who jumped out from behind the truck. On the other hand, at least 5 people were also moving his way from another archer position. This was clearly a deliberate ambush.

- Time to die you crazy motherfucker! - shouted one of them

The arrows flew again, and Sam realized it was a shitty situation. At least for the moment, he is far from a super man, so he, without hesitation, jerked to the side and began to run away at maximum speed. The street was wide enough that the attackers could not block all the escape routes from him, besides, they were clearly not particularly eager to risk their own skins. Fortunately, it was agility and strength that he had the most, so that almost no one could compare with his running speed.

Beside archers, others also used some kind of self made spears or just rocks to attack him at distance. But obviously they were all new to this kind of weapons, even if they have been training for a couple days that was not enough to hit Sam properly.

Soon the pursuers were left behind, Sam ran a considerable part of the city, until he finally decided to stop at one of the residential buildings. There were plenty of vacant apartments, so the choice was rather big. He had no major injuries, just a few scratches.

Obviously, someone still decided to kill a local maniac, that is, Sam. In principle, nothing surprising, after all, for the people around him, Sam was more terrible than any zombie. Even two bows were prepared especially for him, due to the rule of two meters, using them for hunting zombies is extremely ineffective.

Sam of course was not going to leave everything as it is, even if he can not deal with such a crowd, but he can cut them one by one. In his apartment, in addition to food supplies, there was nothing particularly valuable. So he didn't care where his temporary residence would be.

As expected, the 10th level was a little special, firstly, he got 3 free stat points, secondly, his danger presentiment skill improved slightly, thirdly he was able to choose a skill again, but this time the skill was combined with the corresponding classes, and the choice was rather limited ...

Sam noticed that all the classes that gave offense, damage, and so on were common, while classes that focused on survival and gave defensive skills accordingly were sort of class prestige.

Apparently, the choice of the first skill at the 5th level depended on what classes were available later, although it was possible to choose classes like Warrior (enhancing weapons), Mage, Assassin, and so on, all these classes were standard.

So Sam paid attention to the few prestige classes he could choose:

Immortal (Spiritual Armor), Impenetrable (+1 Toughness for Lv 2), Phoenix (+1 Stamina for Lv 2), Archon (Spiritual Empowerment), Paladin (Armor Boost), Pale Master (Undead)

Sam lay on the bed in Donna's apartment and looked out the window listening to the sound of the rain. One day off wouldn't hurt, and the choice was clearly important.

For the Impenetrable and the Phoenix, both skills instantly added +5 to the corresponding statistics, by the 20th level the bonus would have already been +10, in principle, quite good, considering that for three and a half months, Sam did not find any way to improve at least one of the parameters , in any way other than raising the level.

Sam tried to look for some special plants, and cooked and fed the animals to his experimental subjects, and then tried it himself, but apart from a slight relief of fatigue, he did not notice any special effects. So every stat improvement, at this stage, is pretty valuable.

The paladin, unlike the guards, can enhance not only the shield, but also the armor on himself, moreover, he can focus the enhancement on a small area, making it almost impenetrable.

Also, over time, thanks to constant amplification, even an ordinary piece of iron can be transformed into standing metal. The problem is, the truth is that finding or making good armor in the modern world is, to put it mildly, a difficult question, and constantly walking in armor might be troublesome.

The Pale Master is a slightly strange class, in fact a passive skill, the undead regard you as their own, also, gradually, the person himself will turn into undead, receiving the corresponding enhancements.

The rate of transformation depends on the spirit. An obvious bonus of such a transformation, it's kind of like an endless life, I think old people and not only will be interested.

The Archon looks promising, firstly, the passive skill is always nice, and secondly, it strengthens the body in all aspects, defense, attack, speed and even damage. The degree of enhancement also depends on the spirit.

The downside for Sam himself is that although the skill does look promising, it is not a purely defensive skill, and Sam doubted that he could withstand a firearm while using it, at least now with his 10 spirit.

After careful consideration, Sam settled on the Immortal. The active skill armor is solely for saving one's own life, in theory it can protect against any type of damage. Let there be not much spirit yet, but with each level the armor will be a little stronger.
