5 Season 1 (Ch5):
After breakfast Carl went down to the basement looking around again, it was about twice the size of his current room at the moment, he went over to the duffle bag to move that stuff. Seeing that no one followed him down he went over to a side wall where bricks were, using the back of a hammer he put all his strength into pulling out a brick.
After it was loose he shoveled out some dirt that was sitting there making the whole deep enough to hide things, until he got a safe this was going to have to do at the moment. While at breakfast he found someone selling a used Uphone online that he would buy, it was only a hundred bucks, hopefully it was in perfect condition like they said.
He only took that amount plus and extra two hundred so that he could get it turned on today, once he put the brick back in place he went back up to get the broom and dustpan. "Do you really need to move down their Carl? Isn't you room perfectly fine?" Fiona asked looking at him a little worriedly as he grabbed what he needed along with some garbage bags.
Laughing he turned to her, "Don't worry Fi. I am going to clean everything and even do a little remodeling down there, you will be the first person I show when everything is done."
"Fine," She sighed shaking her head, "Be careful though, I don't need you getting hurt doing something you should be messing with."
"Aye Captain." He said saluting her making her giggle and rub his head.
"Need some help Carl? I don't have anything else to do for the rest of the day?" Lip said as he walked over with his signature cocky grin.
"Sure thing man, an extra set of hands would help me get this done faster. We can take a break at 1pm because I have something to do then but when I get back I will work on it more." Carl said while nodding to him with a smile, he hadn't spent much time with him since coming here.
"Damn I would help but I have work today. If you are still doing it later then I will be here to help out." Ian said while taking the last bite of his food and getting ready to leave, Debby didn't even offer she was to busy on her phone.
"It's cool man. Whenever you can just come on. Let's get to it Lip." He said patting his shoulder and making his way down the stairs again, not before moving Liam who also wanted to go down.
As they made it to the bottom Lip whistled before he got to work using his hand to pick up some bigger things that needed to be picked up, he swept the dirt that he carved out earlier. The two went to work without speaking for ten minutes before Lip finally said something while throwing another board away.
"So was that a lie about that college girl and you?" He asked while looking over at Carl.
Rolling his eyes he answered, "No it wasn't. I actually got paid yesterday and planned on buying a phone later, I will message her to send me a pic so you can see her."
He grinned, "I will hold you to that man. ...So what do you think of Karen, and tell me honestly I won't be upset."
Carl thought that over for a moment, he knew that he could tell him the truth at this moment since they hadn't been sleeping together long and Lip wasn't that attached yet. To be honest he thought the best girl for Lip was Amanda, the girl he was going to meet in college she was the best choice that he would have out of all other the others.
Karen is a whore who does not care about Lip, she showed that time and time again after what she did. She was playing with him the whole time, if she really cared she would have been with him exclusively.
Mandy was a good choice but other then pushing him to go to college she didn't change him, all she did was hope that by pushing him then she would be his ticket out of the southside. She did love him but she would just be a reminder that he could always do better, she didn't try to better herself to actually go places with him.
Amanda was perfect because not only was she in college too, she was actually going places in life rather then just hoping that someone would lead her in life. She also soon learned to care for him seeing how much attention he put into watching Liam after the incident, which she willingly volunteered to watch him while Lip focused on college.
She was also a main reason for him staying in college, with her help he was able to study and manage his time better allowing him to actually pass his classes. Also with the help of her dad and him actually getting that internship he could actually get into the job of his choice later in life rather then ending up where he did.
With him actually being committed to Amanda too, that would mean he didn't sleep with his professor which led to his downfall. Tami wasn't even worth mentioning since they had way to many problems together, he wouldn't even meet her if he did stay with Amanda.
"Carl?" He said with a questioning tone.
He didn't realize that he was having a little ranting session in his head until that moment, "Sorry, I was thinking it over. Honestly I wouldn't fall for her if I was you. Sure enjoy your time together but don't fall for her, we both know that she is sleeping with other people even if you two are hanging out. Do you really want to be with someone who won't commit to being with just you?"
Lip stopped a moment thinking his words over before he spoke again, "You might be right, but at the moment I am going to play it by the ear until things seem to go to far or she really is just playing with me."
Carl shook his head and dumped more trash into the bag, he wasn't going to say anything else since it was Lip's decision if he wanted to waste his time on something like that. For the next thirty minutes they spent it going through the basement and throwing things out, along the way he saw spots he would need to fix if he wanted to make it look better.
There were also some holes which looked like rat holes to him, he could only sigh at that since he didn't think traps would stop them all that much from getting into the room. The traps that were already there looked like they were broken, there was even one that had a foot in it, somewhere there is a three legged rat that was to strong to be killed.
"Alright that is all. For the rest I need to paint and fix up some things in here, I am now glad I got my job so that I can afford all of this." He said while sitting on the ground, they were both dirty from all the dust and everything else they cleaned up.
"Well I am going to take a shower and head out, I am going to go meet with Karen and see what she is doing." Lip said as he made his way back up the stairs carrying the broom along with him.
Carl just waved him out as he thought in his head what he needed to get done, he was brought out of his head hearing someone walk down the stairs, looking up it was Fiona. She stood on the bottom step looking at everything before nodding, "It looks good, are you sure you want to sleep down here though? The only window is that tiny square which you can't even fit through."
He laughed while nodding, "Yeah I am sure about it. This just gives us all more room, soon Liam will grow up and we will need even more room. Hopefully Lip goes to college and when he does Ian can get his room that way no one will be sharing unless it is breaks or summer when Lip comes home."
She sighed while nodding, "Fine. I am going to work, Debby has Liam and they took off somewhere so I will see you later, I am bringing dinner too."
Once she walked off he decided he needed to head out too since he was going to buy that phone later, walking upstairs he grabbed some clothes before jumping in the shower. After a ten minute one he was leaving the house with his money in his back pocket, he didn't need to go far since he was meeting the guy at a park that was close to his house.
Thirty minutes later he was leaving with and UPhone 4, it was basically an IPhone but this worlds version of it along with a U on the back instead of an apple with a bite taken out of it. The man charged it so he was able to test the phone, it was in perfect condition, the guy bought it for his quote 'Cheating Bitch of an Ex' which was amazing.
He didn't think he would meet someone else who was cheated on.
It didn't take long for him to get it turned on after also paying for three months of service in advanced, he added Lip's, Ian's, Debby's and Fiona's number while shooting them a text. He also sent one to Cassidy who replied the fastest, she was happy that he could talk to her now and sent him a picture immediately after he asked for one.
What he didn't expect was that it was a picture of her smiling while flashing him with a wink, she wanted to meet up again after her exams this week. He could only shake his head at that but didn't disagree, he was going to meet her at her apartment Saturday.
After texting everyone he made a list and set out to complete it, he needed to buy some things from the hardware store for the basement to cover holes and just for some things he wanted in it. Since he knew he didn't have the money for everything he was just going to go look at the prices, he planned to buy the rest later after turning in the next car.
This time it was a white Audi Q3, he already had everything set up and planned to get it later, tomorrow or Monday at the latest since he planned to spend the whole night at the party with Kassidi. He didn't think she would appreciate it if he ran out on her again, plus he just wanted to hang out without any problems.
As he was leaving the store he took a different way home just to change things up, turning a corner he stopped though hearing faint whining of an animal. Stopping he followed it before coming across a box, inside was a solid white kitten that was crawling around trying to get out, it looked close to a newborn maybe one a few weeks old.
Frowning he didn't even need to think before shrugging off one of his coats and wrapping the kitten inside it, he needed to get it checked over but that would cost money but he only had fifty left on him. Sighing he decided to take it home for the night and take it there tomorrow he was going to do that car delivery tomorrow.
Along the way he stopped at Kash's so that he could get some food for it, although a small selection there was still one for cat food, he also got half a gallon jug of milk for the cat. "Where did you find this little cutie?" Ian asked smiling while petting the top of the sleeping cat.
"Was on my way home when I came across her, decided might as well keep her." Carl said while shrugging.
"Alright well do you still need help or did you and Lip finish everything, I get off in twenty."
"No am it is okay we finished. I guess I will see you at home whenever you show then." He said before grabbing the bag and walking out while nodding to Kash who was messing with the fruit in the front.
After another walk he finally made it home letting out a breath, he was actually tired from everything he had done today but it was hardly even after four so he didn't want to sleep yet. Going up to his room he laid the kitten down looking it over, he finally noticed that even if it was solid white it still had a ring of black around it's left eye.
Checking it over he made sure it wasn't something other then her fur before deciding he should name her, "Well I guess we will call you Kiki, welcome to the family."
At that moment she decided to wake up looking around, her eyes stopped on him before she started to meow for attention, he took it as her wanting food too though since he didn't know how long she was in the box. He opened a can of food while also warming up a little milk and feeding both to her to see what she like.
Her crawling was adorable as she moved to sniff both, she took so licks of the milk while eating a little of the wet food that was in the tin. Smiling he pet her gently while watching her eat, the thing was just to cute and he couldn't for the life of him figure out why someone would leave it in the cold like that.
Not that it mattered anymore since he planned to take care of her from now on, moving her after she was done eating he realized he would be cleaning poop from the floor. He didn't own a litter box so at the moment she had no where to go on but the floor, sighing he thought it would be fine since it was just one night.
