Chapter 12 - Flustered

Long Aotian woke up by dawn but the stupid crustacean had not returned. His stomach started growling. 'Darn, I am hungry. Where is that guy?' he thought. Slithering his weak body, he followed the Crayfish's scent in the air. 'How far could he have gone? He would definitely be nearby' he thought as slithered along the forest path.

One hour passed he still did not see any traces of the beast. Two hour passed he could not find a single trace of the beast. He started to get worried. 'Maybe he got in some kind of danger. No no, it's not possible. I think the beast ran away because I was too demanding' he cursed the stupid beast as he kept following the scent.

After four hours he reached the river bank. 'Did he travel this far to bring me food' he started feeling guilty for treating the beast in a bad way. The Crayfish's scent was the strongest near the river bank. He lifted his head and started to search for the beast. 'Wait a minute, why is there another beasts scent along this path' he though as he sniffed the rocks with gusto. The little dragon started to get worried for the stupid beast.

'The scent is still fresh. He could be nearby' he thought as he moved faster, following the scent trail. After just fifteen minutes he could smell a very strong blood scent in the air. Dread filled his heart at the thought of the stupid beast being hurt. 'He will be fine. He said he was strong' he consoled his disturbed mind with these words.

The path he came across was full of destroyed trees littering it. 'it looks like the fight was intense' he thought with worry.

Nearby Xia che was still jumping tree to tree trying to evade the crazy bear's attacks. "Hey, Mr. Bear why don't we take some rest ah. My son would nbe super hungry. Why don't we continue this after getting something to eat?" Xia che tried negotiating with the bear.

'This stupid beast, how dare he call me a guy? Do I look that manly?' the bear thought as it intensified its attacks.

"Hey, Mr. Bear lets be civil okay. Why don't I give a Goji berry as an exchange for a fish? How does that sound? My son only wants fishes ah" Xia che tried negotiating with the bear again.

Long Aotian heard this from the distance. He was a little touched by the beast's sincerity. His own parents never cared about his preferences. 'They only care about themselves' He though as he rolled into a ball in distress.

Xia che noticed the small ball from the distance. 'oh my god his cute son has come looking for him' he thought as his face lit up with impish glee.

"Little son! Run away, go and wait near the river. Daddy will catch you some tasty fishes. Mr.bear is crazy; he might try to kill you. Go" he urged his little snake.

Little snake woke up at his call but he did not run away. He started to move closer to the tree he was on. "Little son daddy is fine. But you have to run. Run okay" he shouted at the little snake as he jumped to another tree.

Xia che was little distracted by the snake's presence; he lost his balance and slipped. The bear saw this and clawed his legs. His trousers tore along with some of his flesh. Blood ran down his leg staining the ground red.

Long Aotian saw this and lost all control of his emotions. 'How dare that thing hurt his beast' he shouted in his heart as he slithered closer to the bear and bit him hard. The bear fainted in shock.

Dragons just like snakes are born with a powerful poison. But the prideful creatures they are they usually never use it to kill anyone.

The little dragon released a powerful poison in the bear's body when he bit him. The bear died instantly from heart failure.

Xia che got down from the tree. He limped closer to the little snake and held him in his arms. "Oh my god my son, I think the bear fainted seeing your ugly face. But don't be sad my son, you will always be pretty in my eyes"

Long Aotian enraged at the beasts remark. 'How dare he call me ugly? I am a mighty dragon. This stupid beast' he though as he bit the offending beast's fingers.

"Ahhhhhhh. Son, I know you are hungry, but you can't eat my hands. I don't taste good. I am not edible okay" Xia che bopped the little snakes head. "Let's go get some fish" he announced as he happily skipped towards the river.

They reached the river in just two minutes. 'He's fast' Long Aotian thought as he was being held in the beasts embrace.

"Wow we are lucky. There are so many fishes" the crustacean said as he started picking up the dead fishes near the river bank. "Son, look. It's so big, it'll be enough for both of us" He picked up a dead salmon and said to the little snake

'Did he.... did he feed me rotting carcases?' Long Aotian thought in dread. All the good impression he had for the stupid beast was destroyed by this incident. 'This stupid beast! How could you feed me dead things? Just die' he bit the crayfish hard.

Xia che just kindly stroked the tense body of the snake and said "Its okay, daddy will cook it in no time. Don't get angry ah" he said as he smiled at the coiled up little snake.

Long Aotians body turned beet red at the feeling of the beasts hand on his scales. He quickly slithered back into the beasts sleeves. 'Why is my heart beating so fast? He is just a stupid Crayfish ah' he thought as he grew flustered. 'I hate him' he thought but his body turned beet red contradicting his thoughts.
