CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Taylor Night
"I don't need another therapy session," I mutter, my voice low.
"I beg to differ," Dr. Brown sits across from me, her voice grim. "You are clearly upset, Taylor."
"I have every reason to be upset," I look away. "I had just started getting back into the camp and now Raeina says I can't go anymore."
"That decision is not Raeina's," Dr. Brown responds, calmly. "However, you were struggling to control your powers, Taylor. Even the Director and I could sense that."
"I wasn't going to do anything!"
"It would have taken a split second for you to lose control," Dr. Brown says, gently. "And you know that."
I fall silent, knowing she's right.
"Do you want to tell me what happened?" Dr. Brown prods.
"Like you don't know," I mutter, bitterly. "Isabel basically shouted out to the entire dining hall that I killed people."
