CHAPTER 09: I Can’t Lose You

“Theo! Theo, wake up!”

The voice sounded so far away. It was as if he was plunged under a body of water that held him captive. He tried to swim to the surface but with each stroke, the thick, black blanket of unconsciousness pulled him deeper. Theo lost all control. His limbs felt like noodles as his body was picked up off the ground and was shaken violently.

“Theo! Can you hear me?”

Theo let out a small groan in response after being shaken again.

“We have to get him to the infirmary,” the unknown voice spoke.

He could hear the voices of the people around him, but for some reason, his eyes would not allow him to open them. Effortlessly, his body was picked up off the ground and they were in motion.

The guards rushed with Theo to the Alpha’s quarters. It was one of the most secure places on their territory. They couldn’t risk placing him with everyone else in the infirmary in case this was another attack.
