The Return Of The Assassin

"Shadow?" Amelia slowly walked to where Ethan was.

She kept walking until she stood in front of him, Ethan now looked like a completely different person.

He had eyes which showed a lack of emotion in them making him have an icy gaze and his aura had also changed, it had a chilly feeling to it.

Ethan now looked like an assassin, when Amelia saw Ethan she knew immediately that this was not Ethan but shadow the one she had been awaiting.

"Shadow, is it really you?" she asked the guy who stood in front of her waiting for him to reply.

"Yes my darling Amelia, how have you been?"

He replied her with a sweet and loving voice which would make anyone confused about his personality.

Shadow the assassin is a caring person but only to the people he loves, he will smile with any of his loved ones but changes to a completely different. person, someone who doesn't care if the world goes into chaos.

Moving close to Amelia he carried her doing a princess carry, floating out of the castle he told her.

"It's better we get out of here, a different dispute is going on between my friends and that fool who had always tried to take you away from me"

Shadow said those words with anger in his eyes as he knew something, he knew the people who plotted against him, the people who wanted to get rid of him.

"We will have to return to our world as I have things to deal with" shadow couldn't let them get away with what they did and he was going to make sure they all pay, every one of them.

"Well.... about that I used my last divine mana to unseal your memories" Amelia said letting him understand that getting back to their world wasn't going to be happening anytime soon.

There were two types of mana, the normal mana which everyone had and the divine mana which some had after they had cultivated to a certain level.

The world which they were in now didn't have things like cultivation to realms so they would only be limited to the normal mana and could never get the divine mana.

Both Shadow and Amelia who was still in shadow's arms had gotten to the entrance of Ethan's memory sea but then something happened, the both of them were teleported into a cell where they were being sealed.

Amelia tried to break the glass of the cell but couldn't, finding out their powers had also been sealed.

With confusion written on their faces thinking of how they got here, they would soon be answered as they heard footsteps of someone coming to their cell.

"Welcome to the prison where we keep people who tamper with memories would you like to tell us what you were trying to do"

A man was the one who stood in front of their cell he spoke with a bored tone which proved this wasn't the first time he was saying this line, he held a notepad jotting down everything which was told to him by the people he asked for their informations.

He asked shadow for his own info but shadow preferred using the info of Ethan, then it came Amelia's turn where she said who she really was.

When the guard heard who he was talking to he excused himself and started rushing to meet the administrator of the prison.

"So we come to a different world and your name still gets us out of trouble doesn't it?" Ethan asked her this question bringing back a state of euphoria to the both of them.

As they continued to discuss, Amelia telling Ethan about her adventures to find him, a group of people hurried to the cell where the couple was being kept.

"It's nice to see you princess Amelia, I'm the administrator of this place"

When both Amelia and Ethan looked up they both saw an elf man who wore a general's clothes talking to them.

After he had introduced himself he unlocked the cell where the two were being kept bowing deeply to princess Amelia and looking cautiously at the 'man servant' he saw with her.

After some time of discussing what had really happened the administrator offered them a device which could teleport people out of the world of memories and back into their body which they took happily going back to their bodies.

When the two woke up from their long daze the first thing which came into view was the argument which was going on between Matthew and Theoden .

"Silence!" immediately that word was said everything which they had been doing stopped as they felt the authority which those words carried.

Turning to the person who uttered the words everyone in the room was totally shocked.

"Ethan?" yes it was Ethan, both of his friends questioned what they heard at the same time as they didn't believe they would feel such power from their friend when he just came out of god knows where.

"Amelia, I had been trying to reach you but I couldn't so I came here to see what was going on, is everything okay?"

Theoden asked Amelia as he couldn't bring himself to look at the person who was looking at him with such intense eyes.

"It's time for us to go, Amelia why don't you teleport us four from here back to the town" Ethan said to Amelia, of course this ticked Theoden as he never expected this new face to be talking to his dear Amelia so casually.

"Okay Ethan let's go" Before they left the world of memories Shadow had told Amelia to refer to him as Ethan as he didn't want people to know about his return.

Huh?!" Leo, Matthew and Theoden exclaimed as they never expected both Ethan and Amelia to be so casual.

After the four were ready to leave the castle, they were all teleported out of the dungeon they entered two days ago.

They all walked back to Ethan's house as they were sure their parents would be waiting for them there.

When they got into the house they all saw a gloomy atmosphere as all their parents had been worried not seeing their sons' in two days.

The four of them went to the living room and that is when all the people who were there noticed them and scenes upon scenes displayed themselves.

Mothers going to hug their children, father's going to caution the kids to not have gone into a dungeon, and all other scenarios but every single parent had a face of relief when they saw their children were not injured.

While all this played out, Amelia had a smile on her face because this was the first time in years she saw shadow connecting to other people apart from her positively.

"We're sorry for ignoring your presence but can you tell us who you are"

Ethan's mother had finally noticed Amelia calling the attention of all others after their reunion with their children.

"I go by the name Emily and I am Ethan's fiancee"

Everyone's jaw dropped, Matthew and Leo the hardest as they couldn't believe what they just heard while Ethan sat on the couch just smiling and waiting to see how everything was going to play out.

Ethan had told her to hide her elf ears and also change her name as not to be suspected by the humans, as the humans on this world were not like some of the humans on their own world who were kind.

And so she decided to go with Emily as it was the closest to her real name

"You are what?!" everyone could not believe what they heard as they all never expected Ethan to be the first to find a girlfriend even his own parents.

"I am the fiancee of Ethan" Amelia repeated herself again making people look at Ethan with their eyes asking him what he did.

Ethan on the other hand just sat down trying his best to not look at anyone who looked his way.

"Emily no offense but did our son use some type of drug on you"

Alex asked her as he thought something shady was going on here, something which is son was not supposed to do

"Come on guys, I met her some time ago and now we are dating" Ethan finally decided to step in, looking at his both friends with a side glance that told them not to say nothing.

After a lot of convincing, people decided to finally believe his words and in a few more minutes everyone who came to stay with them had left to their homes.

Amelia had told him she was going to be trying to cultivate mana and try to create a good substantial amount for them to use for their journey back home

After that she went back to the palace so she could start cultivating with the resources she accumulated.

It was now night and Ethan stayed in his room lying on the bed thinking about his last moments before he died in the hands of his enemies.

The grin they had on their faces as the ones he once called friends killed him and laughed when they saw him laying on the ground helplessly.

He knew they wouldn't let him be if they found out of his rebirth, they will come looking for him because they knew if they didn't come looking for him he will come looking for them.

Someone knocked on the door to Ethan's room gently.

"Who is it?" he asked unsure of who will come looking for him this late at night.

"It's Alice, can I come in"

"....Come in"

After she heard those words she came into his room.

"So which dungeon did you guys go to?" Alice asked the question after taking a seat on the chair at his desk

"It was a goblin dungeon a very weak one in fact..."

"Just shut up okay" Alice said as tears welled up in her eyes, she didn't act like she cared but she was the most worried. for her brother in everyone

"How could you go too a dungeon without telling me don't you know you could have been killed" right now Alice sobbed she didn't know how else to express her emotions of worry than to cry and shout at him for what he did

Ethan knew what was going on as he stood up walked to his sister and hugged her "I'm sorry that I made you worry about me sis I should have been more careful"

When he had finished hugging her, he cleaned the tears from her eyes telling her not to cry anymore as he would make sure he never does something that dangerous again.

"Hey sis, I never found out about your mana capacity are you willing to tell me now"

"My mana capacity reached C-rank"

"wow that's great, I hope you're working hard to becoming a C-ranked hunter"

"Well yea there's nothing else to do anyway so I have to keep up with my training.

The brother and sister duo continued to talk and catch up on things they had missed.

When she had left, Ethan got on his bed ready to sleep he said one last word before dozing off.

"I have returned"
