Professor Mcgonagall

"Can I help you Mrs" Oz asked to the women that had approached him out of nowhere. The women in question had stopped in front of Oz and was taking a deep look at him, probably double checking to see if Oz was a magical folk.

"Yes Mr.... Oz I'm here today to talk to you about an opportunity. You have been invited to join the prestigious Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the coming September. The choice is yours whether or not you want to join however, that sparkle in your eyes tells me that you'd make a fine wizard if you were to join our school".

'Strange, she seemed to jump directly into inviting me with no context on who or what a wizard is, does the ministry and Hogwarts somehow know about my encounter with the Lovegood's? It's possible they've had their eye on me even sooner than I predicted, or that one of the Lovegood's mentioned me to the upper brass so that I'd be ensured a spot in Hogwarts and be protected'.

'I'm not exactly a fan of being snooped on, This will certainly need to change when I join Hogwarts… with Pandora's notes on magic spell creation maybe I could create myself a cloaking spell similar to the invisibility cloak, I just need to refract the light and.... Oh right I better actually give her my response'.

"Thats sounds like a lot more fun than being here in the Orphanage! Where and what do I need to do in order to join your school?".

"Yes Mr Oz it certainly is a lot of fun however it does come with its dangers. To join Hogwarts you'll need to come with me in the next week to buy your school supplies at Diagon Alley, don't worry about the cost. Since your an orphan the school will pay for your supplies. All thats left is for you to give me a straight answer and I'll go inform your Orphanage of all the details regarding your enrolment".

Oz sat silently for a second, pretending to ponder his choice before saying.

"I'd like to become a Wizard Mrs, please let me join Hogwarts".

Mcgonagall let out a knowing smile, she grabbed a book out of her bag and wrote down Oz's name on the list of accepted students for the term coming up.

"I will proceed with talking to your caretakers in the Orphanage about your enrolment, You shall see me again in the coming weeks... Oh! how silly of me, I forgot to mention my name".

Professor Mcgonagall turned straight to Oz with a warm smile.

"I'm Professor Mcgonagall, your new deputy headmistress and head of the Gryffindor house. I hope your time at Hogwarts will be well spent".

A slightly cunning yet excited smile flashed on Oz's face for a second as he thought.

'My time will be well spent indeed'.

A few days before Mcgonagall was due to pick up Oz to go to Diagon alley, Oz was experimenting with the magic force within his body, coming up with theories on its uses.

After learning the importance of magic control, Oz became much more thorough in learning the ins and outs of each spell, how it activates, how it functions, etc. His memory here played a very important role, allowing him to make great strides in understand magic. Oz was a firm believer that the more you understood the force known as magic, the easier spells in the future would come to a caster.

Oz also had a few spells he wanted to try and create when in Hogwarts in year 1.

The first spell Oz wanted to create and learn was a spell he thought up when thinking about how magic travels throughout the body. Using his memories of eastern novels he'd read alone at home in his previous life, he thought of the possibility of using magic to augment his strength and reflexes in moments of desperation. To understand how to fully use this kind of spell though, he'd need extensive knowledge about a humans body, which wasn't in any of the books the Lovegood's had handed to him. As a matter of fact, Hogwarts books on the matter had the possibility of being outdated compared to the books in the modern world due to leaps with technology. Oz planned on popping into a book shop nearby before his trip to Diagon Alley with Mcgonagall, hoping to buy a book on the subject with some of the funds he had gathered from his pickpocketing venture way back when.

The second spell Oz wanted to develop was a simple yet effective cloak spell. In all honesty, this spell is something Oz has already got a rather good grasp on, putting most of his time into learning it after the encounter with Mcgonagall a week ago. At this point, besides also being able to cloak himself to make himself disappear, he was able to mask his core. Masking the core disguised it to be a bit weaker than it actually was, He wouldn't keep hiding his cores strength though, eventually revealing it to show he's a prodigy with magic. The urgency he felt however from being watched by the ministry and Hogwarts the second they realised he had magic spurred him on to create the spell with full force within his room.

'From what I can gather about the whole ordeal with Mcgonagall seeming to already know that I know about magic, my educated guess is that Pandora or Xenophilius must have made a comment to Hogwarts about my existence. It wouldn't be hard for them to say a boy in an orphanage in Cornwall has magic within him just to save Hogwarts the work and get them in their good books'.

Oz felt relieved at this discovery, as he initially thought that the school had been watching him for longer than he thought, maybe even realising that he's been training in magic longer.

'I was lucky also that Mcgonagall is the one who came to contact me. Such a motherly figure wouldn't suddenly try to snoop in my brain, finding my occlumency defences. I definitely got lucky there, if it was Dumbledore himself he probably would have seen right through me at this point'.

Oz looked at his core within himself for a moment, seeing the core gave him a slight giddy feeling about the progress he had made up to this point.

'The growth has slowed down even further, reaching the next level will probably happen in Hogwarts during my first year... I need to prepare though. The cloak spell I've come up with will help me a lot when joining Hogwarts, however, I should slowly reveal my prowess over the coming year as a genius. The cloak spell will allow it to seem as though I have a rapid growth in Hogwarts, rather than a freak who cast all spells up to year 3 wandlessly before even enrolling. As for Occlumency, I need to create a layer of fake memories, thoughts and feelings above the barrier I've created in my mind scape to hopefully trick any of the snooping professors. Generating fake memories, thoughts and feelings should be a cinch due to the fact I've lived two lives, my imagination is unrivalled'.

Oz did feel weird for a moment about how cautious he was being, however you can never be too careful in life.
