CH.36 - Faea Belgaen

The trip was silent afterwards, Shia thinking about Enkai's words, and Yue calming down, Enkai was in his own thoughts.

"Was it your first time killing human?" Shia broke the silence, asking Enkai.

"Yes"

Shia was surprised that this was the first time he had killed a human, with their earlier talk she thought it was not his first time.

"You could say there is better first time" Enkai said, joking to lighten the atmosphere.

Shia blushed as heard Enkai's word, thinking about a first time. Yue looked at Enkai with a gleam in her eyes.

Seeing the girls like this Enkai knew they misunderstood him.

"I am not talking about that kind of first time idiots, I am talking about my first time killing. Instead of killing one person, I killed a several dozen. Easily" Enkai said as to clear the misunderstanding.

"O-OF course! Haha I knew desu!" Shia said, totally obvious.

Yue on the other hand was worried, she tugged on his sleeve, making Enkai look at her.

"Yes?"

"...Are you alright?" Yue calmed down long time ago, and regained her monotonous voice.

"Don't worry, I feel no remorse for killing them, after all they weren't any different from monster in my eyes." Enkai replied calmly.

"...What if they are not like those soldiers?"

"I will see at that time but I will never hesitate to kill someone if it's a danger for me or someone close to me, I am not like a certain idiot I hate." Enkai said, remembering a face he didn't like.

"I am here if you need" (Yue)

"Thanks Yue"

"Muuuu~don't go in your own world and leave me behind" Shia cut them, complaining.

"...Why are you here already?"

"I wa- want to become your companion" Replied Shia, in a low voice.

"No way" "Dream on, failure rabbit"

Immediately two refusal came her way. Making Shia deflating. But she quickly regained her vigour.

"Huuuuu~! Cruel, how cruel~! I have decided! I will join you in your travels! From now on, under this sun, Shia Haulia has promised to help the two of you! There is no need to be reserved. The three of us are now comrades. Let us overcome our hardship and find hope together!"

"Say Yue, did I hear this right or I am hallucinating ?"

"No you're right…. Casually changing 'I want to be a comrade' into 'I am a comrade', what a shameless rabbit."

Enkai didn't joke any longer and talked seriously. There was no way he would carry a dead weight, he was cruel but is was also to protect her. He didn't want to tell her this hard truth but for her to abandon he needed to be cruel.

"With your skill, you should stay in your village and become a Leader or anything, your Tribe is very weak, and have this weak mentality, they need someone to change them."

Shia was silent, quietly sitting at the back with an unreadable expression.

After several hours, their party finally arrived at the border of the [Haltina Sea of Trees]. From the outside, not only could they see a dense forest, they could see a ghostly fog coming from the woods, seemingly ready to devour them.

"Enkai-dono...before starting our trip in the forest could we...erm talk?"

"...Talk" Enkai responded, with an unusual coldness.

Kam bowed, followed by the rest of the tribe before saying,

"We are sorry about the way we treated you earlier, as we are the weakest of all the beastmen because of our docile personality. At the sight of blood we will be in pain. All of us wouldn't be able to kill even an ant. This is not an excuse as to why we treated you that way even if they treated of fellow tribesmen as toys, please accept my sincere apologies on the behalf of my tribe."

Still bowing Kam waited for Enkai's response.

The latter let a long sigh.."I forgive you, but you are right this is not an excuse, do you think apologies and excuses will let you and your tribe in the future ? Let me tell you something, if you don't change...you will all die, and I won't be coming to your rescue, neither will I care of your tribe" Enkai forgave them, but not before letting a warning.

In truth, if they were attacked while he was around he would definitely help, on the condition they fought for themselves, otherwise he wouldn't care less about them.

"Understood Enkai-dono...we will definitely change...that's why I have a request for you, of course I will pay and you won't do it for free."

"...What kind of request?" Enkai asked.

"Please train my Tribesmen, you have great strength, please help us."

"I refuse, don't misunderstand my answer, I gained strength but I don't have any knowledge in training I can't help you."

"Yue-dono...we don't really know what it can be used for, we only know the name because my parents told me."

"...Tell me" Yue had a lot of knowledge she acquired from Orcus library but also as a former Vampire Princess, she thought it could maybe be something which could help Enkai.

"[Void Maker]" Kam said.

"...I will train you, give this to Enkai" Yue said instantly, realising the power of this treasure.

"Yue?!" Enkai was shocked it was the first time seeing Yue like this.

"...Don't worry, Although I was a Princess I was still trained by my Uncle, I know things about how dealing with weaklings...And you will need this tattoo Enkai.." Yue said.

"Tattoo?" Enkai asked, confused.

"Mmh...I will explain when he will give you the treasure..."

"Here it is....it's rather small...the tribe chief need to wear that everytime, I don't really what this is but here" Kam retired a necklace, a bead hanging.

The bead was pitch black, nothing could be seen from it, as if it was the void itself.

Enkai took the necklace in his hand, observing the bead, Yue was also looking at it as she explained.

"...[Void Maker] is originally a Tattoo, It has the power to create miniature black holes or voids that instantly swallow up anything in its path. But be careful, from what I read, [Void Maker] has a mind of it own, you will need to kill it or make it submissive to you if you want to use it safely"

"It's dangerous ?" (Enkai)

"For Enkai, I don't think...Enkai is really strong, other Tattoo holder won't hold a candle to Enkai." Yue responded proudly.

"Well, I trust you...but I won't use it now, let reach a safe place first and what about those tattoo holder?" Enkai decided, wearing the necklace...around his neck.

"...I will explain it later." Yue responded and nodded in agreement.

As they were about to start their trip Kam said something.

"Enkai-dono, if it is possible, please erase your presence. The [Great Tree] is a sacred place, so I believe it unlikely to happen upon anyone. However, if we happen to encounter someone from Faea Belgaen, a large problem would arise."

"I see. I'll do that then. Yue and I can do that to some degree."

Enkai used the same skill he used to kill the soldier from the Empire, [True Cloud] it was with the same method Enka didn't got seen by the soldier. He also grabbed Yue's hand making her disappear to, the latter didn't complain.

"Enkai-dono? Enkai-dono where are you?!" Kam panicked, he saw them disappearing but he didn't know what happened.

"Don't scream! We are near you don't worry, just lead the way..."

"You sacred me for a second Enkai-dono...but as expected of you" Kam said, eyeing his daughter, who was still lost in her own world.

On their way Enkai found something weird, he could still see, the fog didn't bother him, he didn't know why and he couldn't since he didn't have a status card to see if he gained skill concerning vision, he looked at Yue who looked back at him in confusion.

Shaking his head he focused his perception by a radius of 1km, he killed any demonic beast coming their way, not letting Kam and the tribesmen know.

Before entering the forest Enkai gave them blades, stolen from the empire soldier, to see if they really wanted to change or were just bluffing.

During the trip the rabbitsmen, although founding weird that no demonic beast attacked them still kept their guard up.

Enkai wasn't dumb, altough he didn't know if they really wanted to change, seeing them like this please him. Of course he didn't let any demonic beast attacked them for training, they just began, if they fought a demonic beast they would just die.

Afterward, all the demonic beasts were quietly handled by Enkai and Yue. The troublesome demonic beasts of the [Haltina Sea of Trees] proved no problem for them.

However, after several hours had passed since they entered the [Haltina Sea of Trees], their travel was interrupted by an innumerable number of presences that quickly surrounded them. The killing intent they felt was incomparable to that of demonic beasts, leading Kam to restlessly confirm their location.

A tiger-tailed demi-humans appeared and glared at Kam and his tribe as though they were traitors.

"Isn't that, that white-haired Rabbitman? … Bastards, so you're the Haulia tribe! A disgrace to the entire demi-human race! For years, you've deceived us to raise a taboo existence, Treason! I won't hear any more excuses! Everyone will be executed on the spot! Everyone, advan-!?"

When the tiger-tailed demi-human commanded an attack, Enkai let go of Yue, and made himself known, he launched himself toward the tiger-tailed demi-human, kicking him in the stomach and sending him flying. he didn't want to kill anyone needlessly, but he will if they kept attacking.

"I don't have any time for this kind of things, so let me kindly pass, or else all your heads will be rolling on the ground...and believe me when I say I can" Enkai said coldly he didin't care about them. He released a pressure on all of them, putting all of the demi-humans on their knees

The demi-humans were shocked seeing a human in the forest.

"Tr-traitors! Y-you even brought h-humans?!" Said the Tiger-tailed demi-human kneeling and in pain from Enkai kick.

"You will su--argh!"

"Did you not hear me? Are you playing dumb? Don't let your rage consume you...otherwise you won't be left to see what happens after." Enkai said, unsheathing his Katana and putting it close to the demi-human neck.

"… What is your purpose here?" (???) He glared at Enkai with unyielding eyes.

"Do you really think you are in a position to ask question? Look around you"

As he did he was shocked, every single demi-human he brought were kneeling, some even fainted. But suddenly the pressure disappeared as if everything was false.

"But you're right, we are intruding in the territory, since we are in the wrong on some kind of way I will answer, of course, this won't change the course of even, I will enter Faea Belgaen, the issue is with you or not" Enkai said, the Katana still on the tiger-tailed demi-human's neck.

"The depth of the [Haltina Sea of Trees]. I want to go beneath the [Great Tree]."

The commander of the tiger-tailed demi-humans was convinced that the moment he antagonized Enkai, Their hands would be rolling. If that happened, there would be no chance for them to survive.

"Underneath the [Great Tree], you say? For what purpose?" (???)

"Under the [Great Tree] might be where the true entrance to one of the [Seven Great Dungeons] resides. I am traveling with Yue to conquer the [Seven Great Dungeons]. That is why we employed the Haulia as our guide towards the [Great Tree]."

"The real dungeon? Just what are you trying to say? The [Haltina Sea of Trees] is one of the [Seven Great Dungeons]. A dungeon where no one except demi-humans can advance without getting lost." (???)

"That my friend, is a secret, for me to know and for you to discover. You probably don't know anyway"

"… If you are not planning to harm my country and brethren, I can allow you to pass. There is no meaning in fighting you when your aim isn't to endanger my people after all." (???)

He had decided to overlook the human intruder, he didn't have any choice.

"Good...lead the way" Enkai sheated his Katana, the surroding Demi-humans were still in trance or helping the fainted one.

"However, I need to consult the First Guardsman's captain. I also must report to my superiors. The Elders might want to talk to you"

"As I said, lead the way...we will see that later."

This is how Enkai entered Faea Belgaen, more or less in peace.

A/N : Okay, I thought the chapter was posted long time ago and didn't see it was still in my draft, so sorry but I think a problem happened and didn't released it.

Anyway, I know the story is like the LN lots of similarity and plot but I can't change that for the begging but please bear it for a little, after getting out of the [Haltina See of Trees] things will be different and won't follow the novel or manga or will follow them just a little, so soon.
