Chapter One Hundred and Thirty Seven

Vanessa Winthrop swung around when she heard the door open. Travis was just coming in, hurrying in his steps. He'd been gone for way too long. 

"Where have you been?" She chided him. "You know toy really shouldn't be disappearing that way yet, until we get this thing somewhere safe at least."

"Is this place not safe enough?"

Vanessa considered his question for a moment. 

"To be honest, I don't know. I like to think that it is but at the same time, I don't want to take any chances."

"Right."

His eyes drifted to Elsa standing by the side, a thoughtful look on her face. He and Elsa were not exactly friends but he hoped that for the purpose of what Vanessa had called them to do today, she was going to try to put up with having him around for the time being. He was going to try to do same too. 

"There's no time to waste," Vanessa was saying, "Let's try to open the book together," She was talking to Elsa now.
