In a world of warring wolf and dragon clans, a seventeen-year-old princess is determined to reclaim her kingdom from the traitorous wolves who betrayed her family. TORN between her duty to her kingdom and her growing feelings for them, the princess must decide who to trust before the fate of her entire kingdom rests on her shoulders. Ashina's heart hurt when she was sixteen and found the man who stated he was in love with her, balls deep into some dragoness. Even if Cadma had never cheated on her, their love was not meant to be. The young prince did not see it the same way Ashina did and was not letting go of her without a fight. Angry at her true-mate, Andor, who did not save himself for her, she decides saving the kingdom is more important than having a mate. Is it possible for her fated mate and her to be together? Ashina had made the decision that love would not be part of her life at that point. As Ashina's heart was broken at sixteen, she realized that it was time to build an army to reclaim her kingdom.

Chapter Thirty-Three Welcome Home Pictures

Andor -

It was now within my range to mind-link to my beta and I could do so as we were now near West Virginia. Basically, I was telling my beta that it was time to start putting my plans into action.

When I sent Cadma's photos, I made sure that I gave him specific instructions as to how he should handle these pictures. My beta laughed as I gave him the instructions. I could just see Cadma's face as he realized the photos, I took of him in his costume were from me.

It is now known to me that Irla is capable of reading my mind, so I put my mind-link to my beta in the form of a return home festival, rather than the mockery of Cadma that I had planned.

My beta knew what I meant since I sent instructions via the cell phone, I borrowed that night. I just needed to state to my beta to "Let the festivities begin."

The more I laughed, the more annoyed Irla became, "Human, what kind of ill deed are you planning that makes you laugh like that?".

The thought of Irla in my head made me laugh even harder than I already was, perhaps it was all the alcohol we drank before taking off. 'Irla, have I ever told you that you have a gruff rasping voice? Have I ever told you that?".'

Irla roared low, "Is that all you're laughing at? Just my voice? Oh, my word! Stupid Human!" Irla said.

A short time later, I spotted Irla flying low over my castle in the distance, and I was exhilarated to see it. To say that I was excited would not begin to describe how I felt.

It was excruciating to ride that dragon for so long. I think I might have suffered from heat burns. It's like a bike ride without any protection, those kinds of burns that you get when you ride a bike for long periods without protection. Irla is a Winter dragon, so I'm sure she uses ice for weapons, rather than fire. But what do I know, I had no idea Irla could mind link anyone.

I believe that basically what I am saying is that Irla's body was of normal temperature, my burns were not caused by Irla being a fire breathing dragon. What kind of a name is Irla anyway for a male dragon. Again, what do I know about dragons?

Irla indeed is magnificent, his silver scales shine in the sun, he glides into a landing on the dirt below, without jostling me about. He is indeed impressive. Irla laughs in my thoughts, "about time you realized my potential, Stupid Human!"

Retorting like a teenager when someone has called them a name, "Well your name sounds like a GIRL!" Okay, I could have come back to him with a better comeback.

I jumped off and ran hiding behind my beta just as Irla was about to send me flying. I stick my tongue out at Irla and laugh.

My beta turns around looking at me like I was crazy and moves aside. "Dude! You are not a coward; I am not your shield against a dragon dude!" I could hear my beta laughing like crazy. I growled at my beta, and he stopped immediately.

"Hey Alpha, why are you dressed like a dragon on the day of Halloween?" I growled at my beta.

Just as I ordered, the kingdom was celebrating. There were booths with food, a band and dancing. I smirked. I also saw several she-wolves looking in the direction of the dragon.

Turning slowly, it is no longer Irla but a naked Cadma showing off all his glory. I growled, because not only were the she-wolves ogling him, but my mate stared at him too.

Having sent a mind-link to my beta, I told him to get the banners ready, parade them around, and then we will be able to see Cadma in his true glory. My smile was almost imperceptible, almost baring my teeth.

There is no doubt in my mind that Cadma is arrogant and conceited, and he is on his way down.
