Confessions

Her heart stops at the sight before her. The wind is knocked out of her lungs. Ashilynn tries hard to see the man before her but all she can see is red. Relying on her perfect hearing Ashilynn quickly finds Tanner and whips around to put her sword through him. Her vision clears and she smirks.

"I hate being called a baby!" Ashilynn yells. Letting her rage fuel her actions Ashilynn fights with everything she has in her. Her body aches with the exertion she uses to remain fighting but she continues on.

Tanner's taunting and teasing fuels her onward and soon he disappears as she kills him with her sword.

Sweat pours down her porcelain face as she struggles to breathe. The printer dings so she takes her printed report from the printer within the room and heads out the door to watch the boys fight. She scans her surroundings and finds that her father stands in the corner near the door.

Her father looks at her worriedly but she shakes her head and mouths ''I'm Fine' ' to him but no sooner than she makes it to the wall near him does she faint. The machine stops and the room appears normal again thanks to the emergency protocol that her father had put into place eons ago for the safety of all Angels when he created the machines to train for war.

Daniel and Jace whip their heads around frantically searching for Ashilynn. Once they see her on the ground they come running to her side.

Jace wastes no time lifting her into his arms and carrying her to where the living room is. He lays her down on the couch and checks her vitals.

Once he gives her the all clear he sits back and grabs her hand. Looking behind him he spots Daniel and her father both giving him worried glances.

"She is fine. Her pulse is erratic but other than that she is fine. Just overworked. She needs some food and water and a few days worth of bed rest and she will be back to normal." Jace states. Looking over at her father he nods to Daniel hinting that they should leave the room for a few moments.

Daniel understands and takes his leave, Jace follows not long after. They head to the kitchen and Daniel checks the fridge. Seeing that there is fresh chicken inside he decides to make chicken alfredo and salad.

The boys communicate only by facial expressions as they cook. Jace prepares the vegetables while Daniel utilizes the stove. Finally Daniel speaks up.

"She's gonna be fine, you know that right? She's tougher than she looks, you know. "

"I know, that's what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid I can't protect her from what is about to come '' He looks at his brother as a single tear starts to form, " Daniel, I'm falling in love with her and we just met. I can't lose her. Not when I just found her."
