004: 3 Years Of Progress

"Mom, is this really necessary?" Levi struggled a little bit with the uncomfortable feeling he got from his current clothes clamping down on his throat.

The culprit was his mother who was tying up a necktie and making it a little bit more than a tight fit.

"Hush now. You have to look the part if you want to make an impression." His mother only smiled at him and finished right at that moment.

Levi sighed and made sure to loosen the tie a little bit more the next moment when she looked away.

It was a good thing his father also joined them shortly after and that gave him the opportunity.

"Are you ready?" He asked and looked at Levi who walked over to them.

"Sure, Dad. Just a question though. Why is it that I have to come to this meeting? Couldn't you, you know, just handle it on your own without me having to come along?"

"No, I told you already that they want to meet you. You should be happy to get this chance...", he seemed a little bit absentminded when answering.

"Your father is just too excited to show his colleagues his little genius son." His mother now clapped on his father's back and had a mischievous smile when looking at his face.

"That's not it..." Though he denied it, he still smiled back at her.

'Ugh, this couple. I can't get used to their flirting right in front of me.' Levi sweatdropped at their interaction.

"Alright, alright." He gave up. Obviously, his father was proud of him being finally presented to the company where he worked at.

And who could blame him.

Since Levi managed to harvest an insurmountable profit from his abilities, he soured economically.

Green Life, the company he created had been growing exponentially over the last 3 Years he had invested in it.

From a small scrapyard, it soured into a very large company that was even changed from a pure scrapyard to a recycling-focused company that was backed by a lot of things by now.

And money was only one of it.

Sure, normally that would be impossible. And most companies like that soured only for a little bit before plummeting back to nothingness.

Yet when you get rid of waste so effectively that other companies started to produce more of it again to the point of making various daily commodities a lot more affordable to the people, it sure spoke volumes.

The more waste was recycled by his company, the more others would produce waste to make cheap products. That in return brought even more profit to his company as well.

Not only was he just getting rid of the waste, he also recycled it and had the ability to sell it back to the companies.

At first, no one cared about it but now companies tried to trick him and wanted to give him waste and receive whatever valuables they gave back.

Obviously, Levi wasn't so stupid to just oblige.

He amassed incredible amounts of gold, silver, and various other precious metals that he kept under very secure measures. Besides, he could probably transmute insurmountable precious metals out of the other elements.

But why bother making a metal less valuable by "printing" more of it? That would be stupid.

The safe place was his Inventory. Not even the government had any leeway in this at the time since his company was also a limited liability organization that was not even registered on Wall Street for any sort of investments.

The estimated value of his company was in the millions by now. But the real value had already reached the billions with all the gold and other reserves that lay in his pockets.

Well, when you recycle insurmountable piles of trash of various kinds, you tend to get a lot of electrical waste as well.

It may not seem much at first. But when your conversion rate is 100%, then you are going to get rich real fast as soon as your company starts to get rolling.

And with the help of his father, it was not even that problematic. The catalyst of his souring was a very easy one. Uranium, the golden egg that brought so much potential to him.

Since his father worked for an energy corporation that also specialized in nuclear power plants and their usage, it was a no-brainer to help him out.

Or better to say use his connection to gain benefits.

Just thinking about back let him sigh sometimes.

They had been talking about how well his efforts were going since they did have a rudimentary understanding of Levi's doings with his company.

And in that talk Levi once nonchalantly asked if his father wanted to get rid of the used fuel effectively when he had mentioned at the dinner table how waste removal of such sort had been becoming more tedious and how nice it would be to have a solution to that.

At first, both his parents were not paying attention to him and thought that he was a little bit too ambitious.

Later that changed after the amount of waste became more and more at his company.

His parents even scolded him for wanting to accumulate so much waste from literally around the world. Even the people he had hired to do this were kinda chewed out by his father.

But Levi obviously protected his workers and even raised their wages with the command to ignore everything that his parents said.

So he had to be further drastic in his actions. And it paid out.

Slowly his parents, or to be precise, his father became suspicious and started to spend more time looking over the company. Or to be more precise taking a much more detailed look at it.

The workers at first seemed a little bit pressured at the time but kept going since they had orders from Levi.

And the manager that Levi found was a very useful woman that gave zero fucks about his father's rather intimidating aura.

He lucked out having snatched such a reliable person on the free market. It made him appreciate her abilities even more when considering her background.

You don't normally put homeless people in a manager position out of a sudden, after all. Yet it straight-up worked.

Good thing that Levi in general didn't care much about one's background.

He knew the life of a soldier, therefore he didn't judge just by social standing but looked at the skill of the people.

Well, to be fair, at first she was only responsible for carrying out various odd jobs. But at some point, she got on good terms with the old accounting clerk who praised her ability for accounting.

And ever since Levi paid more attention to her and saw her talent in that area, she soon became the manager when taking more and more suggestions from her.

Anyway, what his father had found after seeing the financials made his anger somewhat subside.

The numbers were incredible.

Daily a few hundred trucks came to the landfill where waste was offloaded, brought to the recycling area, and then loaded with new materials like steel, copper and so on that would drive straight to other companies.

Even his mother was surprised after his father told her that.

Both obviously asked him what was going on and he just told them that he created a substance that could split materials into their basics and vise versa.

Luckily her mother believed him somewhat.

After all, she knew that he had been reading a lot of chemistry related books and came to her asking various other questions regarding biochemical solutions.

His mother also tested the substance that he labeled as "void fluid". She even became unbelievably curious about it.

Finding a substance that was able to split anything, store it inside itself, and recreate anything while also having somewhat of a mind of its own was just mindnumbing.

At some point, she just gave up understanding it when seeing his controlled way of usage via a computer that connected to sensors inside said fluid.

Levi had to stretch here and talk out some extreme bullshit when explaining everything but it ended up that his mother labeled Levi as an unprecedented genius not many would come to understand.

Sure enough, they also both kept quiet about the fluid's concrete traits since it would otherwise make too big news.

His parents wasted no time in fabricating a solution for the public that would protect him and his secrets.

But that soon brought even more attention to the company and quickly increased the net profits.

Sarah, his manager, also made sure that every worker at the company kept quiet about it with generous working rules.

Not that they really understood anything about his powers anyways. He only made it so they understood how to operate the computer and software that he created for his powers as camouflage.

Lets just say, the less they know, the better.

And they were all paid quite well and most were people who appreciated the opportunity to earn again. The atmosphere at work was genuinely relaxed and no one wanted to lose this job by now.

So they kept by the rules. Ignorance is bliss, as they used to say.

Sure, there was also a little incident before the computer had increased safety measures in the first year. But after that, the security measures were increased by manyfold.

The incident went somewhat viral in the local community because a worker fell into the waste collection machine and got dissolved after someone just pressed the go button without checking.

Now the authority of pressing the dissolve button at the control could only be done with two people after making sure no personnel was still inside the dissolving machine.

The workers understood that they had to be more careful since mistakes like that could end lives.

Levi also generously created a welfare organization that would receive a certain percentile of his earnings from him and support widowed people who could gain monetary or other substantial support.

Later he also included other unfortunate people like veterans or homeless into that pool.

That whole fiasco then brought the attention of the government to their doorsteps which then led to the lobbyists threatening to make his life hard.

Which in no time led to his father's corporation making his life hard.

Now they want to finally get a deal in which he would dissolve highly dangerous materials like uranium and repurpose it back into usable fuel.

But that was not yet the first thing that came to their mind.

The government had somehow figured out how his fluid worker even if they were perplexed at how exactly, it did end up in them starting to deliver special cargo to his company that had various items that would be dissolved and returned as their basic substance back to the FED.

Well, basic as in Gold, Silver, Platinum and so on. Even Wolfram from old decommissioned and rusting tanks was not spared.

There was even a new law to differentiate electrical wastes so that somehow only his company would have a privilege in recycling them.

Sure, he gained fiat money through that. But gold and everything precious just went straight to the banks.

Hurray to capitalism.

Well, all in all, they started to use him to gain more profits. And his gains in regard to precious metals started to decrease drastically because of that.

At least it was only a national problem and he still managed to make a large gain from international deals. How long that would stand will be seen.

Not that he bothered about it much since the counter ticked on.

Back to the deal with his father's energy company. It was one that derived from that increased exposure and became an even greater boost to his company.

He was now a very rich person and money was not even an issue.

What made his parents perplexed and raised suspicion on him for some reason was the weird hobby he had of purchasing tons of food and other suspicious materials each month.

You know, things for survival. Food, Water, agricultaral plant seeds and many more stuff. And that also in very large amounts of course.

That made a dent in his profits but none really minded since they thought it was still the whim of a child. Genius, yet weirdly having some ticks.

He always replied that he would be spending that for welfare. Which he did, but only 10%. The other 90% he kept for that damn catastrophe that would soon hit.

Because their suspicion grew he also started to invest in real estate. It was basically a waste of money with the incoming recession hitting in 2008 but whatever.

He searched for various projects to build something and a lady came in contact with him.

She was the newly elected mayor of a town called Alexandria in Virginia and they had plans to increase their housing capacity and various other projects.

Disregarding their true plan he just agreed to invest millions into them. That surprised them obviously but he also had demands.

He would receive a certain amount of space for a generous house to himself.

That was just an excuse to build a base in that town. Since he invested there he could also make plans in making one of many bases there.

That place was not the only one that came to him and he soon spent a substantial amount in the real estate market in various states.

There was one by now in Oregon, Texas, Maine, Michigan, and even Alaska.

His main focus though stayed on Alexandria since it was close to Maryland where he currently lived with his parents.

Soon the village became a rather large urban residential area under construction that could house thousands of people.

To make sure enough people would come there and be attracted he also built another location of his company there at the outskirts so that the residential area was not too affected by the amounts of trucks driving there daily.

And with work close by, people tended to move over. He had thousands of truck drivers and other workers under his paycheck by now and giving them homes near their working area was a blessing.

After all, when you worked for him, you could gain various benefits like favorable deals when purchasing the houses with the company bank.

Yes, he had a company bank where people could store their money.

How? Well, he managed to connect his ability to a computer software, making ATMs connect to his storage, and "managing" the money of his employees was an easy task.

Sure, there were some regulations to do this, but who cared after he gained some trust from the government?

He also had the right to gain something from them after all.

So after all that, today was the exact day to make an appearance at the board meeting with his father to reveal the results of the fiscal year.

They sure will celebrate having effectively reduced cost in purchasing materials by recycling it through his company.

After all, it was cheaper to do so than to mine and buy new materials. There would be some reduction in the amount of materials since to recharge the used up fuel, some of it had to be sacrificed.

At least that was what Levi told them. Yet they didn't bother about it and accepted it as is.

It sure drove the prices down at first because demand was less.

And they did think it would become a lot cheaper by then to recycle them as well but Levi remained on his same costs which plateaued the costs for new uranium and those companies still ended up having to buy newly mined Uranium.

Obviously he did not plan on making this a nearly free-fuel kinda situation. That would be ridiculous.

Levi could only sigh since these meetings started to accumulate more and more with various other companies.

His next destination he had to visit would even be out of the states in Japan and Korea.

Little did he know that with his visit to other countries, something would change dramatically.
