Rache raised an eyebrow.
"...Is he?" She couldn't keep the skepticism from her voice. It wasn't as if she could tell this guy Donncahd's plan was to kill her.

What in his actions would give the man that kind of opinion?
"Well," the man said slowly, "he's got a temper on him, sure. And I heard that he's not very friendly to anyone who isn't useful to him."
He shrugged. "But I've worked for his family since he was young. And when his mom died, I saw him in here, just sitting on his own, staring at the fire, not even moving."
His expression darkened. "I think he's a pretty good kid, deep down, but the world has hardened him."
