The Villain’s Repentance

Lara was at rock bottom, feeling like a puppet whose strings had been cut. When she stumbled upon her husband and best friend in a compromising embrace, everything fell into place. The heartbreak stung, but it also ignited a fierce determination within her. Instead of wallowing in despair, fate intervened, giving her a second chance at life—waking her up ten years earlier, just before the chaos began. Armed with wisdom, she promised herself not to repeat the same mistakes. As she stood at the top of the stairs, her gaze fell on Lucas, her once-beloved fiancée. Regret washed over her; she couldn't believe she had almost let him slip away. This time, things would be different.

Mike narrowed his eyes and asked in a soft voice, "Is she similar to Lara, or are you hallucinating because she has a similar name?" Inside, his relieved heart was starting to get concerned. The crazed look that crossed Lucas' eyes earlier flashed in his mind and his worry deepened.

"I don't know, maybe both?" Lucas said sounding unsure.

"Lucas," Mike called out, feeling the worry growing more and more in his subconscious. Lucas sat up from the bed and looked at his friend whilst cocking his head to one side.

"We know that Lara was a kind woman, right?" He asked, making his voice sound a bit persuasive, preparing for his next words.

Lucas, on the other hand, just nodded his head, keeping his voice shut.
