Chapter 224 I chose you

She looked at him as tears flowed from her eyes and she passed her hands through his thick hair, "I love you more than anything and I'm sure that I will never love anyone else but, we can't get back together. I'm sorry."

He burried his face in her legs and held her tightly. "I have to go. Let go," she said. "No," he replied with his voice firm and she sighed.

"Jin Liwei, let me go," she repeated and got no reaction from him.

A long while later, he raised his head to look at her and she said," Jianyu is waiting for me. I have to be on my way."

He let go of her and slowly stood up. She walked to the table and got her purse before starting to walk away. But as she was moving, she felt him wrap his arms around her waist from behind and pulled her to him. Placing his chin on her shoulder, he asked," Is there really nothing I can do to change your mind?"

She shook her head before saying,"No."

She felt his hot breath fanning her skin before he placed a kiss on her neck and pulled away. "Okay," he said and removed his hands from her waist then she turned to look at him.

"You can go," he told her. "I wish you all the best," she replied before turning to leave.

When she reached the door, she turned to look at him and found him already staring at her. Giving him one long glance, she opened the door and hurriedly left the place.

Throughout the entire drive home, she was sobbing although she was trying hard to suppress the sound. "Ma'am, is everything okay?" the driver asked. "Yes. I just caught a terrible cold," she replied. He nodded and continued driving.

On reaching the house, she wiped her tears dry and took the stairs then stopped by Jianyu's house. Knocking on the door, it was opened after a long time and he looked at her.

"You're back," he said. "Yes. May I come in?" she asked and he nodded, letting her enter.

He sat down at the carpet and she followed suit. "Jianyu, I'm sorry for cancelling our plans. Can we perhaps do it tomorrow?" she asked. He looked at her and asked," Why? I thought you were back with your boyfriend." "No. That won't happen. I already made my decision and I chose you," she let him know.

"Are you sure about it?" he asked. "Yes. But as you know the truth is, I still love him. I will need your help and understanding in this," she said and he got hold of her hands then said," Rest assured. I will be patient with you."

Li Fei spent the whole week without seeing Jin Liwei or getting any calls or messages from him. She didn't even see him when she left work. It made her wonder if he had really given up on her. At the thought, she didn't know if she was supposed to be happy or sad.

At night when she was home, Jianyu came back from work and suggested that they should eat out.

Changing into a short white round dress, she came back and they walked to the car.

Reaching the restaurant, they made way inside and took their seats. "You like it?" he asked and she nodded. "I'm glad. I was told that the food here is amazing," he said. "Well in that case, I can't wait to taste it," she said excitedly but her excitement didn't last when she saw Jin Liwei sitting not far from their table.

Their eyes met and she later looked away. What was he doing here? It couldn't be a coincidence, right? But she wasn't planning on letting him ruin her dinner date.

A while later, the waitress came and took their order. "Will that be enough?" Jianyu asked her.

"Yes," she replied and her eyes went to look at Jin Liwei who was watching them intently.

He was sitting alone at the table and only had a bottle of water.

"I have been wondering," she heard Jianyu say and she looked at him. "What?" she asked. "What you discussed with Mr Jin Liwei at that night," he voiced out his thoughts. "Well, I don't think we should be speaking about that. Especially here," she replied and that moment, their food was brought.

"You're right. Let's enjoy our food," he said.

Having a taste on the food, he asked how it was. "Good," she replied.

Subconsciously, her eyes would move to the other table most of the time and she saw that he was watching every move of theirs.

"You're done?" asked Jianyu when he saw her dropping her chopsticks. "Yes. I'm full," she replied.

Eating a little more, he was done too and asked," Should we order some dessert?" "No. I want to go back home," she said getting up.

"Okay." When he stood up, he looked behind him until he caught sight of Jin Liwei glaring at him. So, that was it. He realized that Li Fei had been looking behind him quite often.

He subtly smirked at him and got her purse before following Li Fei.

When they were still in the parking, he was about to start the car when he saw Jin Liwei walking to his car. So, he was indeed following them. He glanced at Li Fei who was searching for something in her purse and luckily, she hadn't seen him. He started the car and hit the road and not long after, he realized that he was following right behind them and he internally cursed.

Reaching the house, he saw him pull over at a distance and an idea crossed his mind.

When Jianyu opened for Li Fei, she came out and as she was walking, he pulled her to him and without warning, sealed her lips with his. Li Fei didn't understand what happened and she tried getting out from his firm hold but couldn't. He was kissing her so wildly.

With his arms wrapped around her waist, he pulled her even closer.

The next second, she didn't know what happened because she felt Jianyu being pulled away from her and she saw Jin Liwei landing a heavy blow on his face and she gasped.
