The unspoken god of the world decides to leave his post and become a mortal innkeeper. He wishes to remain as a simple innkeeper and wishes nothing more than appease the customers of Unseen Moon Inn. He will face many customers. Some ruly and some unruly. He will quide things to play as he plans and those who try to mess with the god that knows the darkest secrets of the world will get what is coming to them. Be kind to others as long as they are kind to you. And when they are not, stay polite and try to find a peaceful path. If those that disturb your peace will not stop, find a way to "suitably" get rid of them. These are the rules that the innkeeper plays. Be wary of when you bear ill will to the innkeeper and his inn. And no, he is not doing a very good job hiding his power.

Miscarriage and encounters

While Jes and Diane were chatting late at night, the female elf from Kyle's party came to the inn. Her name was Chel and she had a dark look on her face. Jes felt that there was no upcoming soul in her, so he knew what had happened. He poured a drink for her.

Diane said to Chel "Are you alright? You don't look…" And before Diane could finish, Jes interrupted her by saying "Sometimes silence is what we seek the most miss Diane. Isn't that right miss Chel?"

Chel sits down at the table and notices that the drink is for her, so she grabs it and takes a sip. Diane is confused and doesn't know what's happening, but then Jes says "While I am fond of silence, sometimes we must speak. That is why you have come here, isn't it?"

Chel then looks down at her drink and says "I don't know what to do now." Jes then says "It is understandable to feel that way. After all, elves are known to have a hard time getting pregnant. Female elves also can get pregnant only every 20 months."

Diane gets what is going on now and takes a sip of her own drink. Then she says "Well, there is always the next time. So keep at it." Chel is silent for a moment and then says "Of course that's what you would say." Then Jes continues her line of thought "But what about your own feelings? Did I get that right?"

Chel looks up for a moment with empty eyes, then looks back at the drink and takes a sip. Then Jes says "I know what you are thinking and I don't recommend it, miss Chel." Chel is silent. Then Jes continues "Ending it all would stop the pain your mortal body would feel, but not the spiritual body. You wouldn't be able to enter the great dream you elves so seek for if you did it and you would most likely become a ghost bound to this world thanks to your dark thoughts."

Chel is still silent. Diane realizes what Jes was talking about and tries to speak, but Jes continues "And no, being reckless and taking on a mission you know you can't handle will only end the same way since the intent in you is the same." Then Chel slams her fist on the table and shouts "SO WHAT ELSE I'M SUPPOSED TO DO?!"

Jes answers by saying "Living is the greatest gift mortals have. Don't waste that gift and try to make someone's else's gift even greater. You have friends that are about to give birth to new life, so you can make their gift much better by being there." Chel is silent. Then Jes continues "And if you live, you have more chances of giving the gift of life to someone one day. But before that, you must say goodbye to your unborn child. Give it a proper send off because, while they weren't completely there yet, they still had resemblance of soul forming in them. They would have been your child." Chel starts crying hard after hearing this and Diane tries to comfort her by hugging her."

After a while of crying, Diane brings her to the room she rented for herself and lets Chel sleep in there. Diane then comes down and says "You really have a way with words, oh humble innkeeper." To which Jes says "It is only my duty to give the best treatment I can to a customer."

The next day, Kyle and the other two girls come to pick Chel up. Lots of comforting words were said and they went on their way.

Couple of weeks later, the customer Juliet Firestone came to sleep the night together with an eleven year old boy. When Jes asked if they wanted separate rooms, Juliet said "Oh we can have the pair room. We are engaged." Jes pauses for a moment, takes a deep breath, and then says "As you wish" and gives them their room key.

The boy's name was Jonathan and he seemed quite happy, but Jes was worried if he was pushed towards a marriage with Juliet or did he give his consent. It also appeared that Jonathan was the child of the townlord and his and Juliet's engagement was decided back when Firestone kids visited Etsi back then. Apparently Juliet fell head over heels for the boy and they decided to get engaged right after that.

Jes just hoped that Juliet wasn't another pedophile and that she actually loves the person named Jonathan Etsirilus. Jes also started to wonder where their guards were, but he wouldn't do anything about it. As he says, a customer is a customer.

They stayed the night and left the next morning. As far as Jes was aware, nothing inappropriate happened in the room they were staying at.

Then a couple of days later Ilina came to look for more knowledge. That day, Elision was there having a meal.

Ilina started to speak to Jes "Thanks for the book about Paradisi. It was a great read." Jes answered "That's good to hear. What do you think about the kingdom?" Ilina then says "I understand their motives on staying neutral, but to that extent? I can't say I completely agree with them." Jes then says "Agreed. They were so focused on staying neutral that they failed to make any allies with anyone. And because of that, they were crushed by the Jinin to the point of losing everything that made them whole."

Ilina then nods and says "I completely agree. If they would have just assisted a couple of other kingdoms at the time, then they would have had people to help them when they needed it."

Elision then comes closer and says "I remember Paradisi. It was a fascinating kingdom indeed." Ilina is surprised and asks "Who are you?" To which Elision responds "Oh, where are my manners. My name is Elision Dregonus and I am the owner of Elysion." Ilina thinks for a moment, trying to recall anything that was Elysion, came up with nothing and then said "Haven't heard of it. But you look quite extraordinary. And you tail. Could you be a dragon in disguise?"

Elision is surprised by this and would usually prepare to defend herself, but since Ilina wasn't giving any hostility, she calmly said "Yes. I am the ancient dragon formerly known as Elbsion. And who might you be?"

Ilina then says "Elbsion you say" then takes off her hat and gives a bow and continues "It is a great honor to meet someone as great as you, oh great white wyrm of Galia. My name is Ilina Naava, the witch of the fog and an apprentice of one of the four season witches. Marqunia the cold's to be exact." Elision says "Oh I remember her. She was quite the tough one." Ilina says "No kidding."

Then Iloton comes and gives the book she was reading in the meanwhile. For you see, Jes has discovered a new method to keep Iloton occupied, and that is by giving her stuff to read with sweets nearby. She says to Jes "Iloton has read this book. It was worthy of Iloton to read it." Ilina notices the little girl and says "Who are you?" Iloton responds "Iloton's name is Iloton. Iloton is a mascot of Unseen Moon Inn."

Ilina looks at her for a while, then looks at Jes and then back at Iloton. Then she says "Are you two related?" Jes tries to say "No" but Iloton says "Yes". Jes looks at Iloton and says "What are you on about? We aren't related." Iloton then says "We both share the same kind of power, so we are related." Jes says "No, that's not how it works." Then Iloton says "But Iloton thinks…" And then Elision stops her and says "Right right. You two aren't technically related, but you are kind of related. Right? Iloton then says "Iloton thinks that will suffice. Now give Iloton more offerings Jes."

Jes then gives Iloton some sweets and lets her eat them. Then he is about to put the book Iloton was reading back to his library, but Ilina stops him and says "Wait, what's that?" Jes responds casually "A book about aether."

Ilina and Elision stop for a moment and then Ilina says "You have a book about aether? A substance lost to time?" Jes just casually says "What are you on about? It's all around us." Ilina then says "I know that, but you have an actual study about it? I thought they were impossible." Elision also says "That is indeed something only as highly as Jes Tacitus would have. Even I have a limited knowledge about aether."

Ilina then says "That is the next book I'm going to read. Give it to me." Jes just said "How demanding of you. But oh well, might as well give it to you." He gives the book to Ilina, who then says "Thanks. Lady Elision, Jes, Iloton, I bid you farewell." Then Ilina leaves and then Elision asks Jes "Could… Could I also have the same book… please?" Jes then opens up a portal big enough to let his hand past it and grabs the same book and gives it to Elision. She then happily says "Thank you" as she leaves to eat the rest of her food.

Couple of days later, Jes got a quite peculiar customer. He seemed to be an old soldier who had seen hell. Jes's kind smile did not reach him as the customer simply said "A room" and handed over one silver coin. Jes takes it and tells him "Room 1." The man then leaves and goes to sleep.

The man is surprised in the morning about the fact that he actually got some sleep tonight. He then went to eat breakfast that he found delicious. Jes then says to the customer "Where are you headed, old soldier?" To which the man said "Don't know. People like me should just disappear like the wind." Jes then says "I'm sure you've seen quite some battles in your life. May I offer you a piece of advice?" The man gives a chuckle and says "Sure." Jes then says "Your sacrifices have been worth it. Find a place where you can find casual work like someone who trains adventurers. I'm sure you got the knack for it in you."

The man chuckles and says "Sure. That's what I want to do, but what if I go too far and accidentally kill someone because of my trauma?" Jes then says "So you admit that you have some. Anyways, if you'd like, I can help you get rid of some of the more nastier memories you have that might cause you to go over the limit." The man asks "With what? Magic?" Jes answers "Basically." The man asks "Can magic truly do that?" Jes answers "My magic can."

The man thinks about it for a second then says "Nah. I think I'm good. If I were to forget all of the things that I've seen, then what about the people I have promised to remember all that? I'm sorry innkeep, but old dogs like me have a pride to hold on to." Jes says "If that's your choice then I won't force you. Just know that I will always be here if you need to forget all the pain." The man then says "Thanks. I keep that in mind." He leaves and puts one more silver coin on the counter and says "I actually got some sleep and the food was tasty. Thank you." He then starts to leave as Jes says "Please feel free to visit again anytime."
