Bang!

Bang!

Pftzzt..

Reality seemed to stop. Behind Will Virgil's eyes were bubbling and spitting out blood. Only his movements seemed to continue on past this time.

Through the pain he managed to mutter a few words.

" I cant hold it back for much longer. Your lucky right? Do something!"

Will's head twitched and everything suddenly glitched back to a millisecond before. In that split second Will coincidentally made the fuse of the bomb stop working.

He paused looked down at his feet and thought about what had just happened to him. He shuddered just by the thought of it. He was very close to dying. If he didn't use his abilities to aid Virgil's "glitching" he wouldn't be here right now. Then he continued to think about it. In fact if Virgil was not here right now he would have been dead. He considered himself lucky.

Virgil fell to the floor. His eyes were a mess but he sat quietly with them closed for the remainder of the experience.

Apathy Belle and Davie watched as nothing happened and Virgil collapse to the floor.

" Uhmm...What happened???" Davie was the firs to give this input but secretly he was glad he didn't check the front door because whatever happened to them couldn't have been good.

Will turned to them and shook his head. He didn't feel like talking about it. All he knew was that he owed Virgil a big one.

He glanced at the arm in Will's hand a chose not to ask anymore questions. However others didn't share the same track of mind.

Apathy looked on at Will her black eyes picking apart every minute detail about him. Her lengthy black hair and her black dress fluttered in the wind. It felt like she had missed something extremely traumatic. She couldn't figure out what it was.

Belle remained silent she looked at Will with concerned eyes but her mind was still elsewhere.

Will clenched his fist together. He started at the arm once more pulling out the contraption inside of it. He noticed that it was a bundle of fireworks attacked a timer. He could tell that when the number hit 0 it would have exploded.

Virgil who was still recovering spoke to Will.

" As I was saying..." he took a moments to rub his eyes with a red hankerchief.

" The innkeeper is not someone you want to encounter right now"

He continued to wipe his eyes with the handkerchief and after a while the skin around them began to regain some light until suddenly he threw it into the air and it turned into bird.

Will watched the red bird fly away and still couldn't comprehend what this guy's abilities were.

He looked down and saw that Virgil was smiling at him. His smile didn't last long he pointed at the bomb in Will's hands.

" Ive never met someone who would use someone else's death as a publicity stunt. A true marketing genius "

Will was confused but before he could say anything he was cut off.

" If it worked it would have killed you you cute little boy. If it didn't work and we somehow managed to get it away from us safely it would have just been a

random firework show. But it was also used as a measure to gauge your abilities"

"Huh?" By this point even if they didn't know what they were talking about everyone began to listen. Davie raised his hat and looked at Virgil. Belle snapped out of her daydream and began to pay more attention. Apathy was already zeroed in from the start. She wanted to get rid of this lingering feeling in the pit of her stomach.

" Ok. The second rule of witchcraft. Can anyone tell me it?"

Belle immediately responded. " Trickery and Deception are your best friends"

Virgil Nodded. " Im not a witch but I've been in this supernatural world since birth and I can tell you for a fact the last thing any high level witch or being would do is play fair. This is their life their gambling. Would you put yours on the line fair and square knowing your opponent could chose at any time to cheat themselves? I think not."

They all ruminated over his words

" What the innkeeper just did was give you guys a test. He most likely knows a bit of your abilities due to your fiasco at the Docks but he's still a cautious man. He wont immediately jump in and try to get rid of you. So now he'll test you. The fact that you survived his trap shows that you aren't amateurs and the fact that the fireworks didn't go off shows that your able to use your abilities to some practical degree outside of fighting."

Davie felt a trickle of sweat drip past his nape.

" All that just from some fireworks?"

They all reveled in their ignorance. Every time they surpassed a new barrier it was as if the world needed to remind them still of how weak you truly are.

" Now You guys as you are now are too weak to fight him. And I cant help you either."

Davie immediately caught his words and ticked.

" What do you mean your not gonna help?"

Will put his arm out infront of Davie and looked at Virgil.

" So what do we do?"

" All of you seem to have comprehended the abilities of your current realms very well in such a short period of time and our friend the innkeeper has a bit of an issue with housekeeping. "

Will caught into Virgils words.

He nodded. And With a determined look he asked.

"Where?"
