Catching Up in the Capital

"

In Rima things had returned to a relative state of normality. It has been a few weeks since the kings Death and the Princesses' disappearance . These things shook the Nation's Capital but the lives of the working class remained unimpeded.

Father's still had to work to provide for their families. Mother's still had to take care of their young and for those who could afford it had to make sure their children were going to school and , doing well at that.

Around midday In a bustling shopping district stood a young man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He wore a standard white suit with gold engravings. He stood out among the crowd of dull colors. People actively avoiding walking in his path as they could tell just by the aura he exuded that he was no ordinary person.

" Papa!" However this stereotype was soon shattered by the cry of a lightskin girl. The girl wore a small red dress which made her look like a little strawberry. She ran up the young man and grabbed at his trousers. Not caring about wrinkling it's pristine condition.

" Star! Whose my sweet little bundle of stardust" He pat the young girl on her fluffy light brown afro and her light-brown eyes lit up.

" Sweetie, where's mommy?" She pointed off into the distance and he followed her. He walked for about a minute before she pointed to her mom who was standing infront of a stall.

" Ma'am, I cant sell the fish to you for any less. I mean look at your neck. That necklace is about the cost of my house. Why do you try to haggle me so much?"

These words exited the mouth of a gruff man in his thirties. His stall was clean and the fish were on ice. He was definitely well off. He patted a long stretch of fresh water salmon and continued his speech towards the young woman.

" Ya see miss my fishermen work hard on a daily to catch beauties like this right here. Look at the color and grading on that fish. It's extravagant . Good enough to serve to the king ehhrre whatca call it Silom or whatever "

The young woman's brown eyes couldn't help but twitch from annoyance. Her skin was a majestic bronze and she looked stunning. Her hair was tied down in traditional braidings and she wore a similar dress to the young girl.

" You-" she was cut off by the sound of a soothing voice

" Darling? Whats wrong? Is everything all right?"

The vendor who had a constant smug look on his face immediately had some gears begin to turn in his mind.

' Who is he? That suit? That hair? Darling? Oh fuck!' These thoughts ran rampant through the shop owners mind.

" Luci? Baby? What are you doing here? In this part of town? You know someone of your status shouldn't be seen here baby."

The young woman had a worried look on her face. She looked in his hands to find her little strawberry cuddling into her father's chest.

" Star ? Where? When did you leave?" Star looked up and her mom and chose not to answer. Instead hiding in her dads muscular bosom.

" Why you little-" she was cut off again

" Its ok Lizz , she's fine isn't that more important?"

Before she could answer he turned to the shop owner. He was already looking away in fright as he didn't want to meet the gaze of the man directly. He knew the consequences of getting on the nerves of someone like him.

" You sir. Is there a problem with selling my wife the fish at a discount? "

The owner finally looked up at the man named luci. He began to stammer as his shimmering blue eyes looked down on him from above.

" Nnnnnnn no No sir thats not it."

Luci handed Star to Lizz and bent over the counter top and spoke to the owner who was sweating bullets. He whispered something in his ears causing him to pack the fish up and hand it to them for free.

Luci then carried the fish in one hand while the other was in his pocket while Lizz carried Star in her arms as they all walked untouched and unimpeded by anyone.

Lizz looked up at her husband's shining figure and blushed a little.

" Babe you didn't have to do that. Abusing your status as an Archbishop isn't good. Aren't you already receiving backlash from other higher ups because you married me instead of someone who fit the doctrines of the church.

He looked down at her cute face and laughed.

" Worrying about whatever people who have never experienced real fear have to say about me has never been on my agenda. After Spending 2 years in the Sey Archipelago. There is nothing that can scare me into not loving my beautiful wife and child."

He fell deep into the thought and unknowingly he spoke his mind a bit too much.

" The beings in Sey are a rarely human. Maybe something in human clothes but definitely not human. The Golden world by ass.. Ive seen folklore die like it was as easy as snapping a twig. Whole seas...red. Islands vanished. Literal dei-"

His face became extremely terrifying. It was as if he was experiencing extreme amounts of ptsd. The sun in the sky even seemed to dim a little bit as frowning at his lack of control.

" papa?" He snapped back and looked down to see both his wife and daughter staring at him. He laughed it off and continued his jovial attitude.

" Ahhh lets go home. I wanna see how majestic this fish really is!"

His ears twiched and he took his hand out his pockets for a split second. A beam of light exited the tip of his index finger.

Behind him running across the crowd was a girl with plum hair. The beam of light hit her thigh but she did not seem to notice it at all as she disappeared into a dark alleyway.
