Opening Eyes

Aryawat let out a miserable grunt as he felt his body return again. His eyes and head felt as if someone was hammering it, again and again. He could not even put his thoughts in order. The hammering slowly got worse and worse.

Focus on Breathing. Focus on breathing. What happened? Did a nerve on my head blasted off?

Suddenly the pain stopped altogether as Aryawat swept open his eyes. The dark hollow space with a single bright light shone above his head.

It took a few moments for his eyes to adjust to the dim light. The moment his eyes focused was exactly the moment when his heart leaped out.

The place was simply weird. Weird in every place and sense. Be it the twisted black trees or the little ponds filled with dark water. The grounds were soft and moist. the sky was dark and a single light source hand above.

Aryawat's eyes contracted as he focused his attention on the sky. For a few seconds, he was in a daze by the blasphemous view.

The sky was not dark but empty. The dark were hands!

It was a scene that was strange to describe.

In the sky, countless worm-like hand projected themself. The hand from Aryawat's view felt like rotten pillars. Long since abandoned and what left was were these hands that covered the sky. No, It felt like the hands hold the sky itself! There were small gaps between the hands that were filled with emptiness. Not dark but empty...

The light emanating from everything did not shine. The light source was not yellow or orange but pure white.

'This is not light ', Artawat thought. The white light thing did not hurt his eyes or move like light. The white spread across the hands like a string-like object. The light also did not enlighten the nearest but farthest.

The source of white ' light' was held by a thin black hand. Countless spherical-like objects revolve around the 'light' source.

Aryawat's thought was abrupted by a heartbeat. It came from below his body!

It was already difficult for him to keep his composer in this situation and a heartbeat came from below. It was a horrifying feeling. Aryawat subconsciously looked below. The view above his body was way better than the view below his body.

Body? Where is my body?

Aryawat could not have but gasped his body right now was white and misty. There was no body at all! It felt like his soul was there.

Aryawat then looked below his 'body' to notice the 'ground'.

It was undesirable and wordless. For lack of words, Aryawat describes it as a piece of flesh.

It was soft and squishy with black dark spots over it. It felt like the skin of a living creature. There was a light tremor in it. The tremor felt like the heartbeat of a living being. Maybe, It was a living being. The skin-like tentacles were also present. A single piece of paper was present in front of him-held by black hairy-like tentacles. The paper words glow in the dark.

"Survive and suffer but don't lose yourself."

Normally Aryawat would have scoffed at the sentence but now...

Aryawat then inspected his body. Which felt light and weightless. His body glowed with a white light which gave a sense of security and serenity. His body also did not touch the ground but levitated a single step above. He, right now was in a sitting position with her butt hovering above the ground her straight back pointing at the sky.

The land was in eternal torment. His thoughts were unknown. No, not the human's thought but the land. The land sobbed blood and the sky absorbed. Aryawat hesitantly moved his hand toward the letter. It felt like he was forgetting something. Something important but also something that should be left alone.

As he grabbed the letter and moved it to inspect it she realized something. The letter was not made of paper but something that was squishy and the letters were carved on the squishy thing.

The paper was human flesh.

Disgusted and disturbed Aryawat threw the paper on the ground which once again was caught by hair-like tentacles.

Aryawat quickly retracted his hand and once again closely inspected his 'body'. The sanity in his head revolted and his 'body' shrugged.

Aryawat debated internally and finally decided to pick it.

He sighed in relief that words were still the same as before and once again inspected the paper but now much more closely and carefully.

The letter was a little yellow and gave a rotten smell. It was no larger than his palm. For some reason, Aryawat felt connected to the paper.

Does someone have a human fetish or something? Why is everything so disgusting? What is this place? Is this hell?

He then looked down and moved his hand to the surface but quickly retracted it. Something inside him told me that it was not a good idea.

A glass-shattering sound was heard from above the sky as a droplet of red waterfall from the opening of the light source. The 'runes', what Aryawat called the objects revolving around the light, all scattered as if rushing away from the light source. Aryawat tightened his grip on the paper and rushed in the opposite direction of the black droplet.

Every creature has survival instinct and his telling him to run!
