The Undying Star

A star? I wasn't even close to being something as beautiful. But... undying? Yes. I was. Since death never ever accepted me into its embrace. So what if I live this story to its end one more time? Just one last time. I want to feel it, living, rather than death. Only once. What awaits me at the end of this never-finished draft, I wonder... Is it the cure to my curse, or yet another rebirth?

Sleeping for a bit

After a long and tiring ride, the horses were finally given a chance to rest. Camping out like usual, the knights and soldiers all rushed to do their respective tasks. Some set up tents, some prepared food, and some attended the injured ones.

"Your Highness," the knight captain saluted at the crown prince who was sitting at the bonfire. "Shall I send a report to the church?"

"What report?"

The crown prince didn't take his eyes off his sword. Ever since their battle with the two unknown individuals, he'd been constantly fiddling with this blade without much interaction with the others.

"About that saint," the knight captain replied. "He was a specially talented one. The church should be informed about him. We can't allow The Resistance to keep our saints and use them against us."
