Chapter 17 New Target

After five gruelling minutes, Abdu finally managed to get up from the floor and was still apologising to William who he still called Anansi as Abdalla did.

William could not manage to get either one of them to stop calling him this and at this point gave up trying so instead he asked a question to the two men.

After he explained his situation with his powers he asked for recommendations on what to do next the two men were now starting to wonder what this test could be but put that thought aside to ponder the right answer.

Abdalla was the first to speak telling William how he should seek out the forgotten knowledge and the forbidden before he makes any move.

What answer is that?

It was a complete copout it could mean anything and nothing at the same time, meaning the old man had just said words that sound good but could not help him.

William stared at the old man who suddenly dodged his gaze and looked to his son who was beside him hoping he could give a better answer.

The reason he had done such a useless answer was that he did not know how he should have responded as he had learnt so much new information in a few minutes now he knew legendary creatures did exist and not in a time before them when gods still roamed the earth but right at this second and a few different organisations were trying to use them for there own gains.

Abdu piped up "well I agree with the old man if you want to know how to fight these organisations or if they need to be fought you would need to gain the knowledge they have and perhaps the fastest way was to go into the belly of the best to learn first hand"

William was so surprised by Abdu's answer as it made sense but terrified him as what if they found out he had the stones or that he was already a strange creature that they were experts in locking up what could happen to him.

However, this was truly the best option that he could think of until the old man had something useful to say.

"that is not the best method only the fastest as he could work where the creatures show up and watch how the organisations work from the outside, he already knows where the creatures will be as so many were released."

"that would be so stupid how can you gain any knowledge from observing them and not going in" Abdu

"well, it's a better idea than going head first in like an idiot and seeing as you go like some sort of brain dead for jumping into the jaws of the preditor." Abdalla

"brain dead like hell how is he supposed to track those creatures and not to forget that they are in another country old fool"

"I may be old but I only raised the fool"

"senile old goat"

"useless son"

"bag of bones"

as the two men argued, well threw insults at each other William thought he had not told the two that he had the memories of the mercenary as why would he bother trying to explain that mess and it is good to keep a few things close to your chest like how he had not said anything about the stones nor the experiment he bor witness too.

as he now had two good ideas he could either choose the Ourobourus organisation that went against the mercenary that he started to call the second instinct a personality that had merged with his own making his old life become something so much less significant and at the same time opened new paths for himself, as of right now he could hear the mercenary in some decisions like the one to be violent or hide the truth or even how good he was at sneaking out even though he had not done it before he came back.

William knew he had to choose the evil organisation as he would not be able to contain this side of him that was like a different person merged into him making a new being not the William before and not the mercenary a mix between the two and he was scared that when he got to the organisation and saw his dad there mourning his loss that he would not be able to control himself and go hug him, as well as the information was useless that he could gain from the organisation.

as the Ourobourus organisation had been around far longer than his had and had roots far deeper into unknown individuals in places of power all over the world.

Abdu and Abdalla eventually stopped fighting with each other and settled down by this time he had William had decided that if he was going to do this he needed more information on the Ouroboros organisation and he knew of only one place he could find such information out.

first, however, he needed to know why he had not been able to break the tree and it even made him bleed as this could be a serious problem as his body felt fine but his strength had taken such a drastic dip.

running throw the streets with the sun high on his back beating down on William he made his way through the streets and before long he was about to enter the forest which he was at only this morning.

Reaching the tree he looked it up and down by now the blood had dried up on the side of the old tree and any damage that he had done to it could be seen but it was not much.

slowly moving his right foot back he got into the proper fighting stance with his hand close to his face the left being out in front of it more with the elbows into his sides with both knees slightly bent he struck the ground with his feet creating a small divot in the ground that was crisscrossed with roots. his fist sped through the air cutting it as it went and as it reached the tree, William stumbled forward knocking his shoulder on the tree as his fist had gone right throw the tree making a jagged hole right in the middle of the white bark and yellow flesh.

Jumping back William stared at his hand moving it in and out of the hole slowly bracing where the hole stared not sure if he was seeing a hallucination or not as he nearly felt anything as he hit the tree, his knuckles were pristine like new snow white and soft, had he hit anything?

sitting down William looked at his hand wondering where the cuts and bruises from this morning had disappeared to.

William could not figure out what was going on, running everywhere checking if all was real he hit a few other trees and they were blown through like the first one all the same now with a fist-sized how in them all, William was more confused than ever but decided to put it aside now and look for the next target on his list the mercenaries old organisation.

He knew how they operated and knew one was just outside of Melbourne about an hour above it close to the army that resided there probably not a coincidence he could imagine, but as he knew how they moved their security measure he could follow them and gather intel as he worked out most major cities in the world had both organisations as they would constantly clash and try to steal their targets from the other organisation which means just because his mercenaries memories did not mean the organisation in Australia did not know about a local Ourobourus base.
