"Something better? A new creature? You are speaking in parables again, Tsukiyama-san." Hide protested.

"Just call me Shuu, please." Shuu replied as he watched the clouds drift slowly.

"Right, Shuu… Shuu-san, I hope I don't end up being someone's experiment." Hide asked with a sheepish smile.

"How can you always be so spot on every time?" Shuu smiled back at Hide in amazement.

"Wha-Wha-NANI!?" Hide's expression turned gloomy quickly after Shuu confirmed his doubts.

"Well, the success of the surgery is up to you and the doctor really. If the doctor's findings, research, and experience aren't enough… you might die, but if your will to live isn't also strong enough, you will definitely die." Shuu said as he focused his gaze on Hide.

"You bastard! Why don't you just kill me already?" Hide complained.

'That's it, but your hate is not nearly enough. I really need you to pull through for this one Hide-kun.' Shuu thought as he devised plans in his head.

"I'll give you seven-no eight years to get strong enough to stop me from devouring Kaneki. Well if you die before you even get the chance it would have been too late." Shuu said coldly.

"I can always leave an anonymous call to the CCG…" Hide said cockily but began to run simulations in his head in real time.

'This bastard is no ordinary ghoul. From the way he talks, walks, and where he lives, he might not have any problems disappearing. He would have already killed Kaneki before fleeing this place. Since he gave me a chance to mess him up in the future, I will definitely try my hardest. But if he tries to touch Kaneki, I wouldn't mind giving my life to ensure his safety.' Hide concluded and retracted his earlier statement.

"Fine, when is the surgery?"

A month passed and the hospital that Mairo had acquired was prepped and ready for Doctor Chigyou to use without any external or internal interference. The nurses that were assigned to Doctor Chigyou had their backgrounds checked and offered large sums of money and a contract to keep their lips sealed about the surgery. The surgery was successful, and Hide was transported out of the hospital, a different being.

Aliza was sent to the foster care organization in the twentieth-ward. Just the mention of the Tsukiyama family name got her a direct meeting with the chairperson. Her request was fulfilled that same day, and Hide's foster dad was compensated fully. Hide was assigned a room in the Tsukiyama mansion and Mirumo found no fault in that as long as Shuu wasn't taking him in to eat him later.

Hide slept for a whole day before waking up the following morning. He opened his eyes and could observe the sun rays that illuminated the room he was in. He observed many different colours on just a ray of sunlight.

'Is the sun supposed to have that many colours?' Hide thought as he observed his surrounding while shielding his eyes.

"Where am I?" Hide asked, his surrounding was rather spacious for a single room. Everything around him looked luxurious and expensive.

"Don't tell me I am at that bastard's house?" Hide exclaimed as he quickly jumped out of bed.

"You are certainly referring to another person right?"

"What!?" Hide turned around quickly and saw Shuu in a school uniform.

"You go to school? How?" Hide was surprised by Shuu's attire.

"You are now my foster brother. The papers are on the lampstand, we are now responsible for your well-being." Shuu said while pointing at a small piece of furniture.

"I don't believe it!" Hide said wide-eyed.

"I don't have time for this. This will be your mentor and your master in full body training." Shuu said and gestured to Mairo. A fairly muscular man, with shoulder-length black hair that was tied into a ponytail with a piercing gaze and a calm demeanor walked in and eyed the confused boy.

"Surprising. He is already at the level of most rudimentary-level ghouls. How is this possible?" Mairo said as he observed the boy.

"Forgive my curiosity, I am Mairo." Mairo introduced himself.

"Hide."

"That's sensei to you!" Shuu said as he tapped the top of hide's head. He was afraid of slapping him at the back of his head for fear of deterring the progress made from the surgery or momentarily knocking him out.

"And she will teach you basic to expert-level combat." Shuu said and made a gesture for Miss Matsumae to walk into the room. A beautiful lady with a shoulder-length black hair wearing a black corporate suit walked in with a bland expression.

"I am Matsumae, let's work hard." Matsumae introduced herself as well.

"I am Hideyoshi Nagachika, pleased to meet you sensei." Hide introduced himself and tried not to wince in pain after Shuu's head pat.

"And lastly, this lovely lady will be teaching you espionage skills and how we source our food quietly and quickly." Shuu once again made a gesture as a beautiful lady with maroon-coloured hair that bounced at shoulder length with every step she took into the room. She wore a yellow top with a denim jacket and black bum shorts and white sneakers. She was the only one who looked casual among the three that were introduced.

"I am Kanae Von Rosewald. You will do well to remember that name Schwein (pig/swine in German)." Kanae said with knitted eyebrows. Her expression did not fit her sentence at all. And she wasn't to be blamed. The month before Hide had his surgery, Shuu took Matsumae, Kanae, and Aliza shopping for new clothes. The girls refused at first but Shuu dragged them against their will anyway. Shuu simply shook his head at that time and taught about how many girls back in his homeworld were constantly dreaming about an all-expense paid shopping for clothes.

He argued that the ladies serving his mansion hardly wore a smile on their faces or wore 'girly' things. He argued and argued until he forced them and made a decree that as long as they are serving him or in the house except if the patriarch says otherwise, they were to wear the clothes that they bought. Kanae remembered this and tried to keep her cool.

'Was that German? Is everyone here modeling or what? She is pretty indeed.' Hide thought.

"I am Hideyoshi Nagachika, please take care of me." Hide said with a light bow.

"Okay and now that's over with. Let's confirm whether the surgery was a complete success or not." Shuu said as he left the room and the others followed suit.

Shuu arrived at the dining hall and found Aliza and Yuuma there and in attendance, they both greeted Shuu with a slight bow. There were two slightly unopened dishes on the table that Aliza had prepared at Shuu's request. The others that followed Shuu were now present in the dining hall as Shuu made a gesture towards Aliza.

"She will teach you how to store and prepare our meals and you will be assisting her from now on as well." Shuu said.

"Call me Aliza, it's nice to meet you." Aliza said with courtesy. A girl with blonde hair in a maid outfit smiled as she greeted Hide.

'Is she a foreigner?' Hide thought as he could observe that Aliza was blonde and her mannerisms in greeting were quite different.

"And he will give various functions and duties to carry out in the estate and will serve as your training partner." Shuu gestured towards Yuuma at this point.

"Yuuma." Yuuma simply frowned.

"And now, pick a dish to eat from." Shuu said as he gestured to Hide to have a seat in front of the two slightly covered dishes. Hide could already smell the content of the dishes before he approached the table.

'This bastard definitely made me a ghoul! How can I smell so well? And how does one prepare flesh to have such a distinguished smell? Anyway, that chicken sandwich is really working up my appetite.' Hide thought as he opened the dish containing the chicken sandwich and grabbed it.

He held on to the chicken sandwich with trembling hands as negative thoughts filled his head. He held that sandwich for a full minute until he bit into it and almost choked himself.

'No, no, no.' Hide thought frantically.

"This.."

"This is the best chicken sandwich ever!" Hide yelled and proceeded to swallow the entire thing and looked around as if asking for more.

Everyone watching Hide suddenly felt as if a load had been taken off their shoulders when he said that.

"Diese göre(This brat)!" Kanae said out loud but was happy she wouldn't have to change the schedule in their hunts.

"He smells very human after all but different." Yuuma said with a scoff.

"It would seem that Doctor Chigyou succeeded in this part." Shuu said

"Mairo, handle him from here." Shuu said and was escorted by Matsumae to school. Mairo gave a slight bow and turned to Aliza and requested another sandwich for the boy.
