Chapter 45: Gale is important to me
"Madison!" We chanted at the same time. Madison continued slurping from her straw without responding much to my dissatisfaction. She quickly finished it before throwing it into a waste bin.
"Hi I'm Enoch and this is Shelia." Enoch was introduced to the older teen.
" Madison. So you guys are the friends Lucian told us about? He mentioned another. Where is she?" Madison asked looking at all of us. No one paid attention to the sleeping boy.
"Did anything bad happen?" She asked again.
"Yeah, some random person kidnapped her," Stuart spoke up.
"So let me guess. You plan on going after her." She eyed us all especially me. "Did you brawl?"
"Yeah! You should have seen how Lucian and Ash were so cool. Even Logan knocked one out. "Stuart stated happily with Jin nodding.
"Jeffrey got whacked in the head with a steel pipe." Madison moved to be blonde who was fine.
"He seems fine to me." Madison sighed quickly standing from her squatting position. "Sorry, I need some time with these guys." She apologized to Enoch and Shelia who shrugged.
We walked from an earshot distance between the two. My telepathy is not strong enough to work within wide ranges yet. I still have a hard time channeling it which causes me to read minds unconsciously.
During our battle, it would have come in handy if I had read what would have become of Jeffrey or their plan for Gale. Even when fighting, I could not access it.
"Damn brat! Your full focus on a human has led to this. Your mate is distracting you. " Madl's words ringed across my head.
"That girl is the reason why you have a hard time channeling your powers. I thought maybe you didn't release the seal well but here is another reason." He scolded.
Gale? She is a distraction. No that can't be right. I mostly think about her a lot... Isn't it normal to have someone you care about worried?
I internally cursed myself to succumb to these emotions whereas I still have a whole battle ahead of me.
"Just don't fuss about her too much or else she'll end up being your weakness." Madl finally said. "If you want to communicate telepathically just clear your mind. That is a reminder."
At least he spouted something useful.
"Green jerk!" Jeffrey walked by my side.
"What do you want?" I asked nonchalantly not interested in having small talk with him.
"I know I was out cold when all this happened. I just want you to know that if you are thinking of doing anything rash. I'm in." I scoffed at his cheesy statement.
"You know I was the one who might have gotten to the bad side of disfigured face guy so..." He trailed off.
I mentally slapped my forehead. What can I expect from him anyway? He is a trouble magnet.
We were finally out of earshot as we looked at the older teen who had a serious look on her face.
"You are not going." Madison ruled out. I tried my best not to furrow my eyebrows.
"Why the heck am I not?" I raised an eyebrow
"I promised your sister I'll watch over you. I'm sorry but you can't."
"I have an idea. Why not get the police involved? I'm sure they can help." Mark suggested.
"No, Philip said it himself that no one will even spare him a glance if he hurts others. They will just overlook him because his parents are influential." The others sighed in defeat.
"Pardon me, Lucian, I do not have a good feeling about this plan. This is almost fishy. I might have to side with her in this case." Elvis agreed with Madison.
I can tell from their interaction they are not on good terms. I didn't care much about what happened but since it was about me. I am not surprised.
"Gale is important to me and my friends. I have to go." I took one last look at my friends who were arguing about something. Logan still dosing off.
"Honestly, I don't care what Philip plans. I will find a way and make sure to bring her back." I stated.
Madison flashed a small smile before sighing. "So who's tagging along?"
I could see her face looking all excited. I still maintained a poker expression but I felt the urge to smile back.
"My friends want to come. I'd advise some of you to stay back." I turned to them. I can tell that they all want to come seeing what their faces read.
"The thing is... After this, you all need to start training immediately. I have just the right thing for you guys." We looked curiously as she adjusted her glasses.
"That aside, we better stop Logan from blasting your new friend." She said worriedly. Logan had an irritated expression as he glanced at Enoch who kept on annoying Shelia.
"Yeah!" We began walking towards them.
"Hold on Gale. I'm coming."
