The being smiled, and said, "Well, I shall ask you something. Do you want me to break the energy barrier right now, or afterwards? This question is very important, as you will face extreme pain, and you should do it when you have full stamina. Right now, you would find it even more difficult. I'll give you some time to thing, dear disciple."
He said the disciple part in a sarcastic way, imitating how Tao Xue ad said it. This was what ticked him off, as he glared at the being.
As Tao Xue was in the room in the 4 Seasons Academy, right there, with the god-like existence, Nuo Peng walked towards her home. As she walked forward, a strange-looking building, which gave off an eerie presence, came into her view. This was her house. She walked towards the building, and pushed open the gate, which gave off a creaking noise, as it opened.
*CREAK!*
She went inside, and entered the building. It was quite large, with the shape resembling that of an ancient castle, pitch-black in color. She walked towards the main hall of the building, and took the stairs up to the second floor. She sighed deeply, when she reached the second floor, and walked towards a room, to the corner.
She pushed open the gate, and entered the room, which had the same kind of condition as that of the whole house. This was her home. This kind of a room was not something any young girl would have. The condition of her entire house was filthy, and there was currently no one home, other than her.
She sat in her room, with a blank expression on her face. Her expression slowly changed, as she revealed a faint smile. She was happy that she was starting to make friends at school. She started happy, at the thought of friends, but suddenly, she was pulled back.
Her face rapidly changed expression from happiness to sorrow, as she drifted off away in her thoughts. After all, she wasn't someone with a normal family. Her house was torn apart in shreds, and her room was uncomfortably messy. If she had friends, it would be natural to invite them, but no one would come to such a house.
She started remembering her sorrows, as fresh tears started dripping from her eyes, wetting the bed she was sitting on, (hahahahaha #pun) and rendering her to a state of pure grief.
Her father, Hung Peng, was previously a very highly-talented Cultivator, who had respectful followers all over the place. Life was like a dream for her, as being recognized as the daughter of Hung Peng, she was also respected, and treated nicely by everyone.
It was all until three years ago, when things started to rapidly change around her. Her father suddenly left the house, and was never seen until now. Since there was no more income, as the father had gone, the house, which was previously a splendid castle, had started degrading, day by day.
Due to this, her mother had to work for the whole day, being only able to generate the money from which the both of them could barely survive. They had sold the huge estate that they previously had, and were now living in a building, which was no more worse than ruins.
Ever since that day, three years previously, she hadn't had any friends. All of her previous friends had broken their friendship with her, and she was left all alone. Because her father had such great talent in Cultivation, her mother had kept storing up money for her admission in the 4 Seasons Academy, so that a least she could nourish the rest of her life.
If she ended up being a Cultivator, the fame and respect she would get could easily help lift off the unimaginable weight off her mother's shoulders. That's why, just as soon as she came home, she would start diligently Cultivating in her room, expecting to rather lighten off the weight from her mother's shoulders.
She wiped her tears, and calmed down, soon. Just as she was in a calm and tranquil mental state, she started Cultivating, with a clear mindset in her mind.
Meanwhile, in a certain faraway valley, filled with all sorts of lovely vegetation, and a beautiful waterfall, with a scenery that everyone would want in front of their houses. The scenery was absolutely eye-catching, even though it was far away from where any humans lived. This scenic landscape was absolutely deserted, in the middle of a black which had no connections with mankind, whatsoever.
In the midst of this place, a firm voice sounded, "It's almost time!"
The voice came like a huge wave, with a powerful aura to it, but slowly drifted away, just like a wave mixed in with the water, after it had caused an unsettling disturbance.
At the same time, Ju Yuan and Ling Shen were stuffing their faces full of food, at a street stall nearby to their houses, on the way from home. Their houses were a bit far, compared to Nuo Peng. Around them, was a huge crowd of people, cheering for either one of them, like fans cheering someone in a competition.
What had happened was that the both of them had stopped at the stall, and made a pit-stop, until they reached their houses. One of them had ordered a certain food item, and had stuffed the whole of it in his mouth in one go, and provoked the other one. They kept on stuffing food in their mouths, like a competition.
They wanted to see who could stuff more food into their mouths. It sure was an idiotic argument, but the nearby people seemed to have gotten excited, which also pumped up these two. They had got all fired up, and had started eating a while ago, and were still going strong until now. They had a good will power, but instead of using it for Cultivation practice, they were wasting it on something as useless as this.
They kept of continuing the competition for a little while more, until the both of them were completely full. The result was declared as a draw, but each one of them claimed it to be their respective win.
At the same time, coming back to Tao Xue.
Tao Xue was looking at the person in front of him mysteriously, as he still wasn't sure if he should trust it or not. It didn't look human to him, which was another one of those features that made him even more unsure as to what he should do. Even if he had expected the man to be his master, he still was unsure of what answer he should give to the man. If he would need his full stamina, then right now was not the right time, but he was very excited, also curious, as he wanted to see his master's power.
He finally thought of an answer, and said with a smile on his face to his master, in a passionate tone, "Well, I'd like to have you break the barrier right now! How about it?"
Hey... The paragraphs are shorter, and there is also the back-story of the mysterious girl. Two things I was told to do.
1: Talk about side characters
2: Write shorter paragraphs
Yare, yare... (it means good grief, and is Saiki Kusuo's catchphrase[mine too ;-P])
