Becoming A Cultivator

Time kept passing by, and soon only a week remained in the ending of the season. This was the time when the students become 1st level Cultivators. This time was the peak of the season, as the students would start becoming Cultivators. Some of the were already on the peak of the half level, only a step away from becoming a level 1 Cultivator. This class included Nuo Peng, Lei Pan, Kuo Wei, Ling Shen, Ju Yuan, and a total of 5 other students. Ling Shen, Ju Yuan and the others couldn't help feeling concerned about Tao Xue. It certainly was a bit weird that it was taking him such an amount of time. Lei Pan and Kuo Wei still had the same attitude as before, and they didn't care a bit about Tao Xue, but Nuo Peng had changed a lot, and was also startled about what was taking him so long to return back. However, she was still a girl of few words.

Ju Yuan had suspected that something was fishy, as this whole setting rather seemed to be a little bit off. Tao Xue wasn't the kind of person who would just disappear suddenly, not to return after such a long time.

While all of this was going on, Tao Xue was silently enclosed, practicing his ability, inside the room. He had completely transformed his skill on to another level, as his control and range, both had increased by about 3 times from the half time of the season. He could instantly shape the energy, and give it a physical form, just that same instant. Tao Xue had grown rapidly, and his strength was extraordinary, but even though this, he still couldn't become a Cultivator. He felt as though his power to control the energy was increasing, but he still couldn't breach the barrier of the energy, which completely shrouded him. He was sitting calmly, practicing, just when he suddenly got alerted.

It was just like before. Tao Xue again sensed the presence that he had previously sensed. He knew that it was the same feeling, but due to his rapid growth, he wasn't a bit afraid at all this time, as he lathered himself in thick armor, a pair of swords in his hands. He knew that it was the same person as before, but this time, it simply floated there, as if it were waiting for Tao Xue to attack.

Tao Xue shouted, "Hey, you! Whatever you are, I'll show you how strong I am, and beat you to a pulp! Say your prayers, as these are your life's last moments!"

The being, which had a form of a human, and was black, just like a silhouette that one could see from afar, in a void-like form, giving off a God-like pressure. Even though this existence had such strength, it didn't emit any killing intent of any sort. The pressure that it was giving only gave Tao Xue more of a will to fight. The being snarled, as if it were happy, and still silently stood there, still like a statue.

Tao Xue swung one of his sword at a tremendous pace, flying towards the being. Just as the sword was about to hit it, the person entirely vanished, as Tao Xue flung his sword in the empty space. Suddenly, it appeared at the other side of Tao Xue, who immediately noticed this, and swung his other sword towards the shadow-like existence, which again disappeared, and reappeared the next instant. Tao Xue was entirely bummed out, as he screamed, and vanished both of his swords. He used the energy to create armor all over his body, which swelled up to an enormous size, which was made up of all kinds of vicious weapons, poking out from it. Other than that, the armor wasn't inanimate, rather, it was moving. At this point of time, Tao Xue looked like a giant monster, as he swung his arms around at the mysterious being like crazy, who always dodged the attacks. Tao Xue kept this up for a lot of time, until when he was totally exhausted. There was nothing ore in his ability that he could to to this being. Tao Xue had found out that it wasn't here to harm it, as it was only playing with him.

Tao Xue couldn't do anything, and sat there, staring at the person, who spoke to him, in a voice filled with power, "Well, well, you've got quite the potential, there. I am from a realm above you, and have therefore come here to help you. I know about our ability, and I can be the key for you to Cultivate. As for my identity, for now, you can call me 'Master', and I'm a friend, not a foe. I've seen your growth, and that's why I'm taking you in as my disciple. Right now, I'm giving you a chance to accept this offer. If you reject it, I don't know if I'll be able to give you another shot. So, I will give you some time, after which you tell me your decision. If it's a yes, then well and good, but if it is a no, you're on your own. Currently, I'm not going to reveal my true identity, or anything about my realm, but if you grow steadily, in the future, I could tell you about all that. If you're suspecting me, let me be honest, I'm the best shot you have at becoming a Cultivator, so you'll be lucky if you took this offer up. What about it?"

The entity grinned, as it thought about how Tao Xue will answer him, and what will he choose. Tao Xue meanwhile, was totally bewildered. He didn't know much about the man, and the person in front of him was extremely shady. Any normal person wouldn't take the chance with such kind of a person, but Tao Xue had no chances left with him."

Tao Xue smiled, and said, "Well, I'm out of options, and as they saw beggars can't be choosers. I definitely wouldn't like to be the apprentice of such a shady being, but now that it's come to it, I don't have much of a choice. So, please teach me how to Cultivate, 'Master'!"
