Chapter 41

My free game engine is already popular and a lot of game developers are switching over to it. I can't wait until gaming becomes one of the most popular things again, I am looking forward to spending the next decade as a shut-in. The Last Of Us is already launched and God Of War is almost done too. I am working on creating Minecraft, since it was the highest-grossing game in my previous life, and I unironically like it.

In less interesting news, Obadiah didn't try to assassinate me, he just tried to subtly undermine my business. Unfortunately the bald fucker got himself killed by a man who named himself after a mineral. Not that my naming sense is any better, I literally just use a name generator and pick whichever one sounds best.

That same person decided to give away his secret identity the next day, like a reckless badass. Guess that is what people mean when they say someone is book smart and not street smart. This is a move I would pull, and I am more durable so that means I can survive attacks in my civilian identity. It would be pretty stupid if he gets assassinated by the ten rings because of that.

Dismissing my thoughts of Tony Stark, I move my attention to a rumour I heard back in the day, The Darkhold. To be honest I thought it was a load of bullshit when I first heard of it because it is stated to have infinite knowledge. I still don't believe in the part of infinite knowledge but I can still see how useful this artefact can be.

The only reason I am even interested in the book is because I spied on Momentum Labs, who wanted to create matter out of nothing. It is a difficult and revolutionary endeavour, and one that I wanted to steal...I mean to see the progress of. Only to discover the almost corrupted minds of the leaders. seeing how I am such a good samaritan, I saw it prudent to relieve them of their possession.

Standing over the dead bodies of Joseph and Lucy Bauer, I grab the book that would have given them the chance to create matter out of nothing. It tried to corrupt me but I perfected my mind over the centuries from all sorts of attacks, like psychic or pheromonal attacks.

Of course, if I use it too much it will fully corrode my mind defence, but that will take a while, and I can just build it up again which would only take a few hours or days. Opening the book, I am confronted by a well of information, ranging from all sorts of topics from magic to technology.

"Well look at that. I feel I have underestimated something extremely juicy." I say before looking at my newest victims. "You two really were lucky bastards, if you were magic users you would have almost become as great as the god Loki. Don't worry though, I will take good care of it."

With that, I begin a fire in the house. Letting the police believe it was a simple gas leak, for I have mastered the art of murder, not something one should be proud of really, but unfortunately pride is my greatest sin. I am like a morally corrupt and less cool version of Escanor. Wow, I just admitted someone was cooler than myself, I guess I am not as prideful as I thought.

I make my way back home and start reading the book. Whilst reading I come across the myth of the scarlet witch and chaos magic. I would lie if I said that I didn't want that power for myself. The problem is the users of chaos magic are practically none, unless you can count Wanda who doesn't even have powers yet, and I want it for myself and not to arm someone else with a power that can destroy an infinity stone

With that thought in mind, I began reading about Magic stealing. I have some knowledge of the art myself, but I am not very proficient, since I have never needed to steal someone else's and I doubt ordinary magic could even compare to the might that is the probable reality warping that is chaos magic.

There go my plans to just enjoy the site of Thanos trying to steal the rest of the stones. I am not sure the space stone would give Wanda her powers, there is a chance that the power stone will work. Just need to use the time stone to verify, or one of the time spells that I have created by studying the stone.

Casting the spell, I see that it didn't work when I used the power stone and Wanda couldn't survive the usage of the power stone on her long enough to activate her powers before blowing up. Sighing, I begin to hope that Thanos invades Earth with the mind stone since I don't really want to go search the universe for him.

Maybe I could use the space stone to find where they are by directly teleporting to the mind stone, since the stones are all connected. I probably shouldn't over-reach myself, I don't even know how to steal such a powerful type of magic yet. I sigh yet again since it seems like I will have to study, and since the book won't allow my clones to read It I have to do it myself.

"Enjoy studying the book for the next few days." I cast a self-hypnosis spell. For a lazy bastard such as myself, that spell is a godsend.

Madam Gao Pov:

Someone new is trying to get his share of New York. I would think it cute if it weren't for the funds that their organisation has. I would try and work with them if they kept away from the drug trade, but it seems I am dealing with the ambitious type.

They are already messing with the Russians business and now the Hands. It's for reasons like these that I loathe Americans. It's time I show these upstarts how it is done.

"Nobu, I need you to find out about this new crime faction. If the option is available,I would prefer you subjugate, but elimination is acceptable." I say over the phone to one of the best Hand members.
