Skye and the apple

Skye awoke in her bed at home. She sat up quickly and pain shot through her shoulder. It all came flooding back to her. She got out of bed and put on a different set of clothes. Her current ones were covered in dirt and dried blood. She was wondering how long she had been out.

After she was dressed she exited her cabin and started walking to where she kept her favorite bow. She had left it behind this morning. She grabbed it and her quiver and slung it over her shoulder and started walking to figure out what happened. She didn't make it very far before she was stopped by Edmond.

"General, you're already awake?"

"Yes, how long was it out for?" Skye said looking at the man with a quite worried expression across her face.

"You were out for 2 hours. Isaac arrived about 3 minutes after you passed out. Once he healed you I carried you back to your cabin and laid you in your bed, Ma'am."

"Oh, not too long then."

"No, Ma'am"

"Well thank you then Edmond, but what are you doing outside my house?"

"I'm here to protect you, ma'am, Isaac had some personal matters to attend to so I volunteered," Edmond said in a matter of fact kind of tone.

"Well thank you but that will no longer be necessary Lieutenant."

"Yes, Ma'am"

"Well, that's odd." Skye thought. "I could have sworn I saw a trace of a frown come across his face as his saluted and walked away," she mumbled to herself.

Skye shook her head and continued to go find Isaac. She knew he didn't have a personal matter, Skye knew he was moping underneath the large apple tree in the orchard.

"Oh Ma'am I almost forgot the King asked for you and Isaac to join him in the throne room when you awoke." the lieutenant called after her knowing she wouldn't turn around.

Skye wondered if her father wanted to see her because of the incident that occurred earlier. Well, whatever the reason was she had to find Isaac and soon.

"Isaac come out" She hollered into the orchard.

"Isaac stop hiding"

"Isaac get out here right now my father is looking for us"

She continued wandering around the orchard in search for him.

"Where is he?" Skye asked allowed

She finally climbed into the nearest tree to get a better look. Isaac was asleep under an apple tree. She finally caught a glimpse of him sleeping under a nearby apple tree.

"Damn it he was supposed to be practicing not sleeping," she cursed.

So she drew her bow and retrieved an arrow from her quiver, above Isaac was a perfectly ripe ruby red apple. She took aim at the apple and only winced in pain for a moment before letting it fly. It hit the target perfectly, the apple started falling towards the male. It landed right atop his head.

"Damn it Skye I know it was you."

Skye climbed down from the tree careful not to bother her injured shoulder.

"Sorry Isaac, I couldn't help it. It was a perfect shot!" Skye called toward her friend.

Isaac breathed a sigh of relief, thank the gods she can still shoot. He was still slightly worried so he took the apple that had fallen and he threw it in her direction.

Skye saw the red orb coming towards her so she quickly shot it, splicing it in two.

Skye knew why he was doing this but she said nothing instead they bother laughed.

"Come on we have a meeting with my father and we need to head back to the village to get ready and change, then afterward it is time for training and then dinner," Skye said with a lighthearted smile and a laugh.

They started to head back side by side talking about his day to keep the mood light.
