Zarone's Friend

Rainn wasn't really comfortable with the idea that Brynelle's family would pay for all of her care. But it would be very suspicious if he paid for the treatment himself. It turned out that the cost of the treatment amounted to several million Ryo and Rainn shouldn't have had that much money.

So, Rainn decided to take their offer instead. With a petty mind that said that he should take advantage of every advantageous opportunity he got.

"Thank you," said Rainn. He was in the car with Vyra and Zarone.

"You don't need to think about it. Just focus on your recovery," replied Vyra with a smile.

Rainn looked at her. "Are Amia and Nicois okay?"

Vyra nodded. "There's no need to worry about them."

"That's good." Rainn nodded once.

"Next time, you should think about your ideas for fun. Maybe you can have fun hunting the supernatural because you've been trained like that since childhood. But not with the two of them."

Vyra's eyes widened when Rainn finished speaking. She glanced at her father who was driving in the front seat.

"Vyra." Zarone voice sounded like a growl. The sound was like the distant rumbling of thunder signaling a storm was coming.

"We'll have to talk about that later."

Rainn was finally aware of the situation. "Wait, he doesn't know?"

Vyra shook her head with a miserable look.

"Oh," said Rainn. "Well, your father should know about that."

The car drove through the streets of Al'Modred on a hot day. If he wasn't in a car that had air conditioning, Rainn must have felt hot and stuffy. Usually, when it's like this, heavy rain will fall in the afternoon or evening.

"What are you going to do after this?" Zarone asked.

"I don't know. Maybe take a rest at home," Rainn replied.

"Your body is in excellent condition, you know that? Now your body is fully recovered after that kind of injury."

"Yeah, that's pretty good." Rainn then remembered the mysterious book he had. "I want to ask something."

"What's that?" Zarone looked at him through the rearview mirror.

"If you had a book in a language you didn't recognize, where would you take it?"

Zarone looked at Rainn through the rearview mirror with his eyes scrutinizing. Just like the time when he had first realized Rainn's power through the test equipment that time.

"Of course the city library," replied Zarone.

"Oh, okay," said Rainn.

"Why? You got something?" Zarone asked.

"I didn't say that."

Zarone smiled faintly. A smile that didn't touch his eyes. "No, you didn't."

Throughout the ride, Vyra was silent. Her mouth was tightly shut as if something could happen to her just by opening her mouth. Then the car stopped at a building complex close to where Rainn lived.

He got out of the car and took his bag, sword, and bow from the back of the car. After saying a faint goodbye, the car drove away from him.

Rainn walked towards his basement apartment with brisk steps. As soon as he entered, Rainn placed his bag, bow, and sword beside the mat. Then change into more comfortable clothes.

"Hah..." Rainn let out a long breath. The past three days have been a long and tiring event. Again, he almost died.

Fortunately, Rainn didn't come home with only wounds and pain. He's back with a new weapon, he also leveled up.

Rainn took out his new sword and studied it. The blade is dark black. What is the name? Shadow steel swords? Pretty cool.

"Maybe I should take him to Adam's Blacksmith sometime," Rainn mumbled.

He put his sword and bow into the Inventory. Rainn was grateful to have the Inventory, which allowed him to store various items "somewhere" and retrieve them easily. Rainn wondered what the actual capacity of the Inventory was. If it was a lot, it would be very convenient.

Tut isn't here now. So Rainn felt lonely again. Not wanting to get too wrapped up in loneliness, Rainn used this time to meditate. He started to concentrate and it didn't take long before he was in the right state of mind.

As soon as they got home, Vyra thought that her father would immediately lecture her with various long sentences. But it turns out her father immediately said goodbye to go again.

"We have to talk, Vyra. But later. I have important business now. Don't go anywhere until I get home," said her father at the gate of their house.

Her father closed the car door again and drove fast. He looked in a hurry and it made Vyra wonder. Even so, Vyra was sure that she would not be told anything about the business. So Vyra entered the house with a sigh and resigned.

Zarone was driving at a faster speed than usual. It was because he had to get to that place as quickly as possible. Luckily the traffic this afternoon was not too heavy. So Zarone can drive the car better.

Half an hour later Zarone arrived at a tall building in around the center of district one. The building had fifty floors and there was a symbol of a white falcon spreading its wings above it. He enters the building.

He smiled while welcoming greetings from several people who already knew him.

"Avo is upstairs?" Zarone asked the receptionist.

"It just so happens that the Guild Master just finished lunch, Mr. Brynelle," replied the receptionist with a formal smile that seemed to be etched on her face.

"Okay, thank you." Zarone walked towards the elevator and go towards the fiftieth floor. As soon as the elevator doors opened, Zarone walked down the corridor and entered the only room at the very end of that corridor.

Zarone knocked on the door a few times and then opened it. Inside he saw a woman straightening her long shiny hair. On the chair, Zarone saw a sitting man buttoning a shirt.

"Uh-oh, am I interrupting?" Zarone asked with a mischievous smile on his face. The man in the chair sighed.

"You can go now, Kass." He said to the woman. Kass nodded with a flushed face then rushed out past Zarone.

Zarone himself walked and sat on the chair in front of the man without the slightest sense of guilt.

The man in front of Zarone was a man with shoulder-length blonde hair. Now that blond hair was tied up with a few strands that escaped to frame the right and left sides of his face. His nose is sharp and his skin is white. Zarone once joked that if he disguised himself as a woman, almost no one would notice until they saw his penis.

But beneath that appearance, this man was the Guild Master of the Millennium Falcon, Avois DuMorne. And currently, Zarone is at the guild headquarters.

"What do you want?" Avois asked, with an annoyed tone and look on his face that he didn't try to hide.

"So, I'm curious about that woman. Is she your new secretary? Zarone asked.

Avois looked at him flatly. Didn't say anything.

"Ahahaha!" Zarone laughed. "Sorry, I wanted to talk about the demon's appearance."

Avois's expression changed drastically after hearing that. He got serious. "So it's true?"

Zarone nodded once firmly. "Well, that's true. And you know, the kid is there where the demons appear."

Avois leaned towards Zarone. "Could it be just a coincidence?"

"You conclude yourself after hearing my explanation."
