Brownwood Forest Event

This weekend was different for Rainn. It had not been long since he had obtained Systema's power, but his life had changed so much. He packed his things into a backpack. Of course, he didn't have a lot of stuff. After all, Rainn can put his Elemental Gem Shortbow into Systema's Inventory.

His cell phone rings. Rainn, who was ready to leave, put his cell phone between his shoulder and ear while locking the door.

"Yeah?" Said Rainn.

'Are you leaving already?'

It was Vyra's voice. Rainn locked the door of his basement apartment and walked up the stairs.

"Yes."

'All right, you go first to the gate. We'll catch up in a moment.'

"Okay."

After that the phone is closed. Rainn walked alone on the early morning streets of Al'Modred. Even the sun wasn't hot yet. Only a warm light touches to the skin.

Rainn waited at the gate for about fifteen minutes. It was long enough for Rainn that he started to feel a little annoyed he had to wait for the rich kids.

Not long after, a silver SUV came and stopped in front of him. The back door window opened.

"Come on up," said Vyra. Rainn got into the SUV.

He sat in the middle seat along with Vyra in the middle and Nicois at the other end. In the front seat was Amia and a man driving the car.

"You didn't bring much." Amia said, looking at him through the rearview mirror.

"We're only going to be gone for two days, right?" Reply Rain. "Why carry so many things?"

Then he realized that behind him were many suitcases piled up. The suitcases were brightly colored and had some stickers on them. Rainn seemed to know who the suitcases belonged to.

"So I'm the only one carrying a lot of stuff, huh?" Amia muttered.

Rainn sighed and chose to look out the window. He wouldn't want to have to carry those suitcases later.

The SUV started driving away from the gate. They came out of the city of Al'Modred.

Throughout the trip Rainn just stared at the view out the car window. But he remembered that there was something he needed to know.

"Where exactly are we going?" Rainn asked Vyra beside him.

"Brownwood Forest," replied Vyra.

Rainn had heard of the forest. The forest is not a dangerous place. But still, the place is located in the middle of nowhere. There wasn't anything that could be guaranteed safety outside the city walls.

Wait, even within the city walls it's not very safe right now. But the only one who knows about that fact is Rainn.

"Are you sure about this?" Rainn asked Vyra in a slightly worried tone.

Vyra nodded, "Don't worry. The forest is not dangerous. My father told me so."

"So your father allowed this trip?"

"Of course. You think I can leave if he won't let me?"

That makes sense too, Rainn thought.

"You don't carry a weapon. Don't you look more relaxed than me?" asked Vyra.

"Don't worry about that," Rainn said and looked away.

Vyra looked at Rainn suspiciously. But she didn't say anything. They only rode for a few minutes which seemed like a long time in silence.

Soon they arrived at the edge of the Brownwood forest. The forest was no different from the usual forest. The trees are also not too dense and the atmosphere felt from it is ordinary peace.

Rainn came down first and looked into the forest. Somehow he didn't feel any danger here. But his observations could be wrong.

Vyra, Amia, and Nicois descended shortly after. Amia said a few words to her driver to pick them up here two days later. Then the driver took the SUV away after unloading half of Amia's luggage. Wich is still quite a lot. Two large suitcases to be exact.

Rainn stared at the forest in front of him. The forest wasn't too thick, not too dark, and it was still early in the day. Nothing should ever go wrong.

Wait, wouldn't thinking like that usually invite bad luck?

"Let's go in." Vyra led the way forward while carrying one of Amia's suitcases. Nicois and Amia followed behind him. Amia brought a suitcase of her own.

Rainn just looked at her blankly. Don't have a slight thought of helping her. Rainn walked towards the very back of the group.

Brownwood Forest provides a great view in the morning. Dew still pooled on the surface of the leaves and branches. Reflecting the bright morning sun. The sun's rays penetrated through the gaps in the leaves created by the trees above. Lighting their way. Rainn did not know where exactly Vyra would take them.

On a day like this usually no supernatural creatures will appear. Usually.

"We'll be there in a minute," Vyra's eyes were filled with excitement and she smile as she looked at them. "You won't be disappointed by this."

Rainn keep silent. Not intending to disturb Vyra's mood, who seemed to be in a good condition.

After a few minutes of walking the four of them arrived at a lake. The lake was in the middle of a wide clearing of forest. The clear water surface reflects the sunlight. And the calmness of the water indicates how deep the lake is. Rainn was even mesmerized by the scene in front of him. It was unusual for him to be able to see a scene like this because all that was before his eyes was darkness and gloom.

"I used to often go to this lake with my father and mother," said Vyra.

"Can we fish here?" Nicois asked excitedly.

Vyra nodded, "Of course we can! But we didn't bring fishing equipment, did we?"

"Yes you're right." Nicois stared at the lake in disappointment.

Rainn looked at him with a strange look because Nicois just wanted to go fishing without bringing a fishing rod. What's wrong with this guy?

Vyra then took them to a place across the lake to start making camp. Of course Rainn's feelings and hunches weren't wrong. This forest is indeed a harmless forest and tends to be calm.

But coincidentally what awaited them was quite unexpected. From behind the trees there were a pair of eyes peeking at the four teenagers. There was disapproval in his eyes.

"Tsk!" The figure clicked its tongue. Then immediately left like a shadow.

The camp was finished building not long after. Rainn dropped his ass on the carpet and lay down looking up at the sky. It was still early in the morning and the sky was still clear.

Rainn felt a moment of peace here. Suddenly a notification from Systema appeared before his eyes.
